Just in case railing remains required.

A small rail triggered by the letter we’ve received from NHS Forth Valley distributed via school today- with a little ‘telt’ to us about not mixing over easter holidays, with bits in bold too about outside gatherings as an extra finger wag.
Urgh, not a necessary letter to send out, it’s going to be bad enough with so little to do, without shining a light on the children who might want to play together in the park. Sad

Lockdownbear · 01/04/2021 12:38

That is just mean, especially when children don't need to SD outside.

Bytheloch · 01/04/2021 12:46

“Even though children are now starting to meet more in the school environment, this does not mean they should meet more outside school. “

Sigh.

titsintiers · 01/04/2021 13:02

I hope they get telt on the 6th May

Lockdownbear · 01/04/2021 13:33

Fingers crossed. I don't care who replaces them but Scotland needs change.

God, yes, we got this too from NHS lothians. Must be wording sanctioned by the great JL himself. Parents/carers should only allow children to play in small, outdoor groups. Larger gatherings, such as parties, should not currently be happening, even outdoors.... Although children under 12 are not counted towards households or numbers when meeting outside, working within the ‘spirit’ of the guidance and limiting the mixing of our children is the best way to help us all get back to ‘normal’ as quickly as possible.

Angry They just can't let us to our own devices within the guidelines, can they...

Bytheloch · 01/04/2021 13:57

I’ve just cancelled the outdoor park festival we’d arranged with 35+ of DS school friends and the indoor pizza restaurant rave, which was tricky anyway due to restaurants not being open...That just leaves us with our local Dobbies to drop the kids off for a play together in the aisles where it’s ‘covid safe’ with a bit of pocket money to buy some bedding plants and a takeaway juice, they’ll have a ball. Might have to overflow at B&Q if there’s too many of them trying to have fun together.

DeepfriedPizza · 01/04/2021 14:23

I heard Ikea is opening on Monday so the kids could go there and bounce on the beds

titsintiers · 01/04/2021 14:35

Good shout. Can get some food with the health benefit equivalent of school meals there too.

What hints and tips to Parent Clowns suggest?

Ah, good idea. Hide and seek in the marketplace should pass a few hours...
UnderHisAye · 01/04/2021 15:05

Urgh IKEA food Envy (very much not envy)

I RAIL against people who think IKEA meatballs are fit for human consumption Grin

Icannever · 01/04/2021 15:12

IKEA meatballs are the best 😀. I’d live a trip to IKEA. Does that count as an essential reason to travel to Edinburgh as there none in Fife?
We’ve almost finished week one of school holidays and it’s been fineish. I recommend finding a club of some sort to put them in as there’s not much else to do. Weathers been a bit pants though. We’ve had cousins and pals over to play, they’re all at school together, I know their parents are working from home so there’s not much risk and I really do think kids need to play. Plus they are allowed to go and play with kids I don’t know at sports clubs. I don’t think hanging out together is less risky because your paying for it 😬

UnderHisAye · 01/04/2021 15:15

I think they taste like something you'd feed a dog Grin although I know I'm in the minority!

We're almost at the end of week one too...The Small has a friend in the garden today and The Big will have a friend on Monday. That's been it really. Absolutely shit all else to do. At least it's a wee bit sunny this afternoon.

I think clubs are tricky for girls. So many of them (actually, all when I think about it) are sports based, and she just is not a sporty girl. A club where you could craft/read/hang out/play games would suit her down to the ground. Basically Youth Club in daylight hours!

A good news/bad news post.

FB statement from Forth Valley

"NHS Forth Valley has completed the delivery of the Covid-19 vaccination programme to all 9 priority groups ahead of the national mid-April 2021 target." yay!! well done FV NHS

Then:

"Second doses of the vaccine continue to the delivered to people in the initial priority groups and work is also underway to identify and contact anyone in the priority groups who may have been missed or were unable to attend their scheduled appointment. Plans to deliver the vaccine to people aged under 50 are being finalised at a national level and are expected to commence in the coming weeks."

What? Still finalising plans for next lot of roll outs????

So, finished the bulk of the 9 groups ahead of target and still working on 2nd doses and mopping up those that are missed but can't start the next lot down as waiting on national plans?

UnderHisAye · 01/04/2021 15:42

I think it's so uneven!! I know plenty of people 40-ish who have had their first dose. I don't get any sense different regions are waiting on any kids of national plan to roll out.

Lockdownbear · 01/04/2021 15:56

Underhiseye, can I ask which area you are in?

I've heard of a 40 something been done in Glasgow but not Lanarkshire.

Lockdownbear · 01/04/2021 15:57

The Moderna vaccine is due approval too.Smile
Bring it on

UnderHisAye · 01/04/2021 16:07

Fife, but actually thinking about it most of the people I know who have had it on the younger side are Dundee.

ResilienceWanker · 01/04/2021 16:08

Grin now THERE'S an idea! IKEA is fair game for a trip across county boundaries, no? Presumably the cafes will still be closed though, so no chance of meatballs, railworthy or not Sad The veggie ones are OK, if you don't mind dry...
Lockdownbear · 01/04/2021 16:13

I've just had a letter similar to Bythelochs from NHS Lanarkshire.

My guess they have been telt to send them from SG.

UnderHisAye · 01/04/2021 16:22

Oh actually NHS Tayside posted something very similar on their Facebook page yesterday! Yeah, SG directed comms.

Rae36 · 01/04/2021 16:24

Oh I bloody love IKEA meatballs. We've got about half a bag in the freezer but I can't bring myself to use them. They're like a safety blanket, I like to know they're there. If we had no meatballs in the freezer that would be a disaster.

RedactedTaeFeck · 01/04/2021 16:28

Adult DS loves IKEA gravy with his meatballs but happy to have the meatballs from anywhere. He doesn't really eat normal gravy.

Anyway, I've managed to substitute packet pepper sauce which you make up with milk and he seems to be happy with that. Actually quite nice with meatballs, mash and peas or broccoli and carrots etc.

RedactedTaeFeck · 01/04/2021 16:29

Obviously I am a gourmet cook... Wink

shouldistop · 01/04/2021 16:29

When ds1 nursery opened back up the manager put a post on our nursery app reminding us not to have indoor play dates etc. Hmm
