Just in case railing remains required.

I’m a big grinch today.

Why the fuck are we still locked up given the numbers?

ResilienceWanker · 29/03/2021 19:26

Sorry to head you're still suffering scottishskifun. Sounds really grim. Hang on in there! Hope the drugs carry on working.

Yy to general grumpy railing about Easter. I'm happy for the south with their BBQs, but here we've got 45mph gales, so not really tempted by one of them. There was a trampoline in the road earlier.

And I'm here for the JS railing too wouldbegood (another thread I think, but seems appropriate here). They're just treating the rules as optional really, aren't they. Angry Can't believe the person who made up the rules for campaigning immediately went and broke them...

WouldBeGood · 29/03/2021 19:44

@ResilienceWanker yes, you just couldn’t make the JS etc stuff up!

I’m so annoyed I’m cross thread railing

@Scottishskifun sorry to hear your struggling. Been thinking about you today and wondering how you were. Hope you turn corner soonThanks

shouldistop · 29/03/2021 19:53

@Scottishskifun hope you're feeling better soon. I had suspected Covid last March (no tests available), when I got to the wheezy / breathless stage about 10 days after the first symptoms began, I found sitting outside and breathing in cold air helped.
Might not be cold enough for that now though depending where you are.

shouldistop · 29/03/2021 19:54

I think I've become institutionalised.

Scottishskifun · 29/03/2021 19:57

Thanks ladies so do I, I'm learning with it that it's a bit up and down throughout the hours like my lungs no longer feel like they're on fire but my oxygen levels have had a few episodes of dropping to 92 which really isn't good but
Dr has given me some exercises to try and keep them higher and I got them back to 95.I know I've got a few days to go at least so just resting up and still can't really speak much without running out of breath. My DH is taking care of the toddler and me.

In good news our council called us to offer us food or prescription pick up so it's good that support side is working for people who wouldn't have anyone about. Our friends has been fantastic as well dropping off prescriptions, food and walking the dog (her lead and collars have been quarantined outside).

My aim is to try and get out of bed by Easter Sunday! 😂

WouldBeGood · 29/03/2021 20:13

@Scottishskifun that’s really good to hear about the official help offered, as well as that of your friend 😊

OP posts:
WouldBeGood · 29/03/2021 20:14

But stay in bed as long as you need to!

I had a respiratory infection in 2019 and was in bed not really able to lift my head for a week - dcs and dogs abandoned, though dd was 17

rookiemere · 29/03/2021 20:27

That sounds really tough @Scottishskifun. I know when DH had what we think was covid last year he had to sleep sitting up for a couple of nights, just take it really easy.

ssd · 29/03/2021 22:23

@Scottishskifun. Sorry to read you're having a hard time. The bit you wrote about running out if breath just speaking is like dh when he had it. He got antibiotics and swore thats what started him recovering. Is that an option for you?

ssd · 29/03/2021 22:24

The minute he tried to speak he coughed and ran out if breathe.

littlbrowndog · 29/03/2021 22:26

Ski. Much love to you and thoughts for you to get better 🥰🥰

Scottishskifun · 30/03/2021 03:51

Thanks for the tip @ssd will ask next time we call 111 (my GP isn't taking any covid related directly)

Yes been trying to keep upright including sleep but it's very difficult to sleep especially with body ache.

Hopefully I will be in the moderate cases which improves to mild but I know covid is unpredictable and can change quickly so just monitoring it really.
Very glad I bought a oximeter a while back though!

ssd · 30/03/2021 08:07

I bought the oximeter too last year when i read how important it was. People thought i was mad. It wasn't the done thing then. Very useful.
TBH we got the antibiotics through a friend who had spare. I know thats wrong but we were desperate. I'd heard before dh got it that work colleague married to a gp had got them in as a precaution incase they got covid. At the time i thought thats daft, this us a virus, antibiotics won't touch it. But when dh was poorly, i was willing to try anything and they seemed to work. I'd try to insist with getting them.
Good luck Flowers

ssd · 30/03/2021 08:08

Also my gp isn't taking covid questions but still spoke to me as she knew how worried i was

ResilienceWanker · 30/03/2021 08:42

Yy, so glad to hear you're getting support scottishskifun. Hang in there... and hope you are managing to get a bit of sleep. Only a few days left til Sunday Wink🐇🐣🍫🥚

Also, am now looking on Amazon for an oximeter. Blush

shouldistop · 30/03/2021 08:57

@ssd when I had suspected Covid my GP prescribed me antibiotics and steroids.

DeepfriedPizza · 30/03/2021 09:11

Hope you improve soon Scottishskifun.

I bought an oximeter last year but it weirdly doesn't pick anything up on one of my fingers. My left hand is fine but my right appears to be dead.

DeepfriedPizza · 30/03/2021 12:33

Does anyone know how many ICU beds Scotland has? I can't seem to find a figure online. There are 23 people in ICU as of today. I found an article from January which said there were 123 in ICU and the NHS were struggling. The fact that we have such tight restrictions now is really starting to grate on me.

IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021 · 30/03/2021 12:35

I'm so fucked off today. I've been moaning on the tiers thread but probably better off on here.

Pathetic changes accompanied with a guilt trip is so fucking summer 2020 🤦‍♀️

shouldistop · 30/03/2021 12:51

Was there an update today?

IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021 · 30/03/2021 12:53

Yeah @shouldistop just confirming the end of stay at home and the other changes in the roadmap

mibbelucieachwell · 30/03/2021 13:09

Deepfriedpizza I seem to remember about a year ago either reading or hearing either the FM or Catherine Calderthingy saying there were 200 ICU beds (in normal times) .

WouldBeGood · 30/03/2021 13:21

I’ve popped over here too to rail.

So, in England schools all back and self catering opening and can meet outside, and outdoor pubs and restaurants. Non essential shops??

Here, more fucking doom, no news on schools.

And no sanctions on the fuckwitted sneaky SNP campaigners. It really is one rule for the politicians, one for plebs. And campaigning more important than people’s businesses and lives
