Just a combination of yours and scottishskifuns suggestions .... puns and variations of the word tiers aren't that easy 😆

Thanks 😊

rookiemere · 23/03/2021 09:58

Shameless place marking, thanks @dancemom.

Haudyourwheesht · 23/03/2021 10:27

Thanks @dancemom. I don't think we're allowed to leave our council area till April 26th, are we?

hilbil21 · 23/03/2021 10:31

@helensburghmiddleagedmum I'm Helensburgh too Smile

Hi, @hilbil21, how excited are you about being able to shop in Dumbarton come 26th April? Can you believe we haven't legally been allowed to shop outside of Helensburgh since Boxing Day? 4 months of shopping at the Co-op and Morrisons, pure torture :-)

By the way, where are the smileys? I can't see them.

Icannever · 23/03/2021 10:42

I’ve got one kid booked into a surf/kayak thing for first week of the holidays. I was unreasonably excited to find something that’s open for him to go to and don’t even care about paying for it as there’s nothing else to pay for, no holidays or activities open round here.
It’s just a couple of hours a day but will get him off his screen for the morning at least. Me and the youngest will just walk and eat ice cream I guess.

hilbil21 · 23/03/2021 10:43

I've been going to Aldi as my son is autistic and only eats certain things. I've been taking his diagnosis letter with me mind you. What a palaver!

Smiley wise... are you on the app?

ResilienceWanker · 23/03/2021 10:43

Thanks again dancemom! I fell off the last thread yesterday... It was moving so quickly and I felt it had got a bit bad tempered Sad Also I was trying to the Hamilton report and watch something with subtitles so I couldn't cope!

But anyway, I hope I don't make anyone feel unwelcome with what I post...sorry if I do Sad . I really appreciate everyone's viewpoints even if I don't necessarily agree. But that would be boring anyway Grin. Though I accept that maybe I do more whinging about the SG than strictly polite - though I'd do exactly the same with BJ et al if I still lived in England I'm sure. I'm just a covid whinger, apparently. I think it's natural to compare our situation with others though, and pick up where we see differences/ inconsistencies/ unfairnesses where they affect us negatively. Maybe I need to work on positivity a bit more...

mibbelucieachwell · 23/03/2021 11:00

Tierribly clever thread title dancemom . Thanks.

I was shocked at the photo of NS leaving her home.

Normally the end of the school term sneaks up on me, or I'm trying to squeeze in extra lessons for pupils doing concerts, competitions or exams, but this year I'm counting down to the Easter hols for the relief of getting a break from doing online instrumental teaching. I'm very thankful to have had that option and my goodness my pupils have done so well, but it's limited and so much more difficult, especially for the wee ones.

Scottish government regulations that specifically named private music tutors for the first time finally came out last December. As far as I can see, I think socially distanced lessons in the same room with covid safety measures will be allowed from week beg April 26th.

UnderHisAye · 23/03/2021 11:04

Yer alright @ResilienceWanker we've all moaned plenty in the last year, there's been sod all else to do after all Grin

RaindropsSplashRainbows · 23/03/2021 11:08

Aren't we all here for a therapeutic moan?!😅

RaindropsSplashRainbows · 23/03/2021 11:09

I find forced positivity stressfull!

No, not on the app, on my computer at work. Is there no option to "like" posts on mumsnet either?

That's great that you have been going to Aldi and getting your son what he needs. Surely by 26th April we will be allowed to move around freely and you will no longer need to take the letter with you.

dancemom · 23/03/2021 11:16

On desktop there's an option for Smile down where you select preview and post

Regarding the 2nd April changes - my understanding is that stay at home regulation changes to stay local guidance which means you could no longer be fined for leaving your own area. But I don't know if that's right or not - does anyone know ?

WouldBeGood · 23/03/2021 11:43

@Helensburghmiddleagedmum I have a night in Helensburgh planned for when we’re allowed! My first time there 😃

@rookiemere, that's my understanding too, which I think officially means you are still supposed to stay in your council area, but with not being fined by the police more people will be tempted to travel further afar, they will not be breaking the law.

That's brilliant WouldbeGood, I hope the weather is kind to you, either way, no doubt just being free and getting away will do you the world of good, lots of lovely places to eat which will all be open by then, and a nice walk along the front looking across the water to Greenock :-)

speedtalker · 23/03/2021 12:12

People I chat to in Edinburgh seem to think North Berwick and Gullane beaches would be considered local....so in the adjacent area. I'm a bit bewildered about it, but believing that it's guidance, so they're hoping we won't go crazy and bop about the country.
I guess if nowhere is still open on the 2nd they are allowing us to be a bit more free range but without the risk they perceive with opening cafes etc.

But then on the 26th we might then have different tiers so official rules might come in about travel restrictions again?

UnderHisAye · 23/03/2021 12:21

Only just remembered there is an announcement today at 2pm!

emmathedilemma · 23/03/2021 12:42

I think "stay local" will still be within your local authority area except we'd then be allowed to travel for non-essential reasons as well as essential reasons. I dream of a day trip to North Berwick!!

MaxNormal · 23/03/2021 12:46

If it's guidance only and not law though I'm not going to just be dreaming.
Mind you I tend to wander a lot bit over the council borders even at present.

cyclingbear · 23/03/2021 12:52

@UnderHisAye
What’s today’s announcement for? Hadn’t realised there was one.
