@WouldBeGood apologies. I didn't think to scroll back to nearly an hour ago to a message that preceded your thoughts on the SNP that you said resulted in a pile on.

I think parallel universe is right.

UnderHisAye · 22/03/2021 23:10

If all of us met for a drink or six we wouldn't be trying to pin each other down to the last word on things, analysing every sentence for a chink of light in someone's armour.

Could we just maybe can it for a day? A moratorium on moaning? A ban on bitching? A boycotting of blame?

I'm all alliterated out Grin

WouldBeGood · 22/03/2021 23:17

Sounds good @UnderHisAye. 😃

I am going to think on what you said.

Drinks all round by a roaring fire when it’s allowed.

snowcoveredcampsies · 22/03/2021 23:20

You are quite right and very sensible @UnderHisAye

I'll need to go and name change now again anyway. Good night! X

speedtalker · 23/03/2021 07:43

I've really appreciated this thread over the past months as a place to see insight into other people's lives, as we all exist in our little isolated bubbles.

You guys have given me interesting perspectives and helped me understand the stats and whole country picture and it's cheered me up getting bits of good news on vaccinations and the daily updates.

I thought it was a place away from the god-awful name calling, the horrendous puns on names (which I hate, and has already been said, make the writer look stupid instead of demeaning their intended victim), and the extreme partisan politics.

I'd love it if it remained a safe space for insights into people's lives and opinions as we move forward with, hopefully, a future beyond covid, and another election.

I think anyone is far more likely to make a convincing argument if it's based on evidence or specific experience that brings a different viewpoint more than name calling any day.

UnderHisAye · 23/03/2021 08:09

Let's join hands and sing hallelujah Grin

Scottishskifun · 23/03/2021 08:13

Can we sing the proclaimers instead? Sunshine on Leith? Bit more catchy and Scottish then hallelujah 😂

UnderHisAye · 23/03/2021 08:31

We could. It makes me cry every time though.

Saying that, not as much as Letters From America.

I would love to see the Proclaimers live, it's on my list for when life kicks in again.

snowcoveredcampsies · 23/03/2021 08:36

I do love sunshine on leith! Great wee tune.

New thread required soon.

StarryEyeSurprise · 23/03/2021 08:42

I'll make a campfire and bring marshmallows. Wink

Anyone got anything nice planned for the Easter hols? Did I read somewhere that it's just going to be guidance to travel outwith your council area from 2nd April? 🤞

florafoxtrot · 23/03/2021 08:45

Sunshine on Leith makes me cry too!

I've seen the Proclaimers @UnderHisAye. A couple of years ago I went with my Mum and Dad, think we saw Elton John the same year. Definitely a defining time in life when I start attending concerts with my parents. Grin

dancemom · 23/03/2021 08:49

Did I hear a new thread request?

And title suggestions?

Things look tier-iffic/-tier-iffying delete as appropriate

Not very catchy though Grin

Scottishskifun · 23/03/2021 08:55

Who tiering knows?

I still don't get how we have a tier system but the whole mainland is at the same rate.... 😂

😂 Potty training for Easter!
UnderHisAye · 23/03/2021 08:57

We're not doing anything, DH and I will be mostly working anyway. Poor kids, another boring as shit holiday.

Maybe the grandparents can have them for a sleepover. I don't really know if that's allowed tbh.

Good luck @Scottishskifun! We did that from Hogmanay since we weren't going anywhere but probably a better idea to do now when its not so cold!

speedtalker · 23/03/2021 09:41

I'm not this conciliatory in real life!

Just ran past someone singing 500 miles loudly who was wearing earphones. Made me smile.

Maybe not 'Cap in Hand. Now that does get me all Nationalistic 🤣

Saw Sunshine in Leith at theatre. Brilliant. Love the film too.
