I've never been to a KFC. I saw a picture of a chicken's head in batter and that put me off for life! (Apologies to anyone having their dinner!)

Icannever · 23/03/2021 18:16

My two would make me play in soft play with them too (they still do at the park too) apart from there was one tiny one near our house which was always so quiet and I could sit there and drink coffee in peace and they did lovely steak pie and chips too.

The Byre theatre was not too far away from us and it used to have the quietest little kids area with a stage and puppets and dressing up and a train set. The coffee was good too. I loved it there.
I can’t eat kfc, McDonald’s or subway 😀. They all hurt my stomach. Just made spaghetti and meatballs for dinner, yummy but I ate too much and now I can’t move to tidy up.

UnderHisAye · 23/03/2021 19:05

Oh god @StarryEyeSurprise I've seen that too, you just reminded me!

UnderHisAye · 23/03/2021 19:05

I didn't know that about The Byre! That sounds really sweet.

Did NS say anything of interest today?

To those of us with kids (or who are young at heart) Blairdrummond safari park and Heads of Ayr are both taking bookings for the next few weeks. They've paid lip service to the 'stay local' guidance by saying local visitors only but they're not policing it.

I don't think she said anything today. Western isles going back to tier 3 seems to have been it.
Too busy nipping at Ruth.

Fireworks going Angry

Kids have both been sleeping since before 7.30 thankfully so hopefully won't wake them.

WouldBeGood · 23/03/2021 20:52

@shouldistop that’s bad! What kind of lunatic celebrates a year of lockdown with fireworks?!

Icannever · 23/03/2021 21:31

@UnderHisAye I don’t think many people knew it was there which made it nice and peaceful 😊. Sadly it’s gone now

Icannever · 23/03/2021 21:31

Fireworks sound odd

forfucksakenett · 23/03/2021 21:43

Rangers fans who didn't make it through their stash on Sunday probably.

shouldistop · 24/03/2021 20:05

Thankfully there was only a few fireworks, no more than maybe 5.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to make Easter weekend nice for us? Bit fed up as second in a row that we were meant to spend in Millport and obviously can't.

I'm planning to have the Easter bunny deliver a basket with bunny ears on a headband and little cards with clues. I'm going to hide little eggs all over the house and garden and ds1 will have to find them. We'll paint some eggs together and go to roll them down a nearby hill.
I was also thinking we could maybe have a special breakfast together at the dining room table (breakfast is usually in front of the tv)

Any other ideas?

cyclingbear · 24/03/2021 20:16

@shouldistop
Make a little Easter basket for collecting the eggs

Egg and spoon race

Make chocolate nest cakes

Easter bonnets

Little chicks in a tray with porridge, rice etc and use tweezers to feed the chicks worms (bits of wool/string) or use them to remove the chicks to a nest. (Bowl covered in brown paper)

Egg experiments

Easter themed crafts

shouldistop · 24/03/2021 20:17

Some great ideas thanks!

cyclingbear · 24/03/2021 20:22

No problem at all

WouldBeGood · 25/03/2021 07:53

I really liked Easter when mine were wee. Nice ideas there 😊

New thread as it’s likely it might be required

Easter Bonnet Biscuits, round rich tea biscuit, spread some icing over and pop a marshmallow over. Then put a red lace round as a ribbon and decorate with little flowers or sprinkles...

Nursery may be doing these next week x

WouldBeGood · 25/03/2021 09:11

Hi @Groovee! Those sound really cute ☺️

How’s you and mrG?

Just booked a week for the October break - only England but having had our easter break cancelled two years running, it's something to look forward to.

WouldBeGood · 25/03/2021 09:53

Sounds good @RaspberryCoulis.

I’m holding out for sun still. The triumph of hope over experience.
