My 4yo is of the running off variety thankfully. Well he was last time we went, over a year ago.

WaxOnFeckOff · 23/03/2021 15:22

My two were off the running off variety and usually found a corner in which to knock lumps out of each other. I was fine with this as it was a pretty even match. Ds1 tall and shady as feck, DS2 built like a rugby forward and only 13 months younger.

It was usually some other child who'd come running to report the fight.

UnderHisAye · 23/03/2021 15:48

Haha!

I've actually just had a flashback to the last time they were at a soft play place. It was one of the wee ones attached to a restaurant.

Some kid shat in it, and it took the staff at least half an hour to come and deal with it, in which time kids were piling in and playing away quite happily next to shit.

That put me right off soft play, not that I was ever much of a fan!

shouldistop · 23/03/2021 15:55

@UnderHisAye Envy < not envy! I must admit there are certain softplays I just won't go to because they're minging. I've found 2 smaller, clean ones that we used to like going to but ds probably be too big for them by the time they open up.

snowcoveredcampsies · 23/03/2021 16:07

I don't love soft plays either. One of my sixth year pupils worked in one (quite a shit one) and I asked her if they cleaned everything regularly including the ball pit and she looked genuinely offended and said 'of course we do'.

That made me feel a bit better.

KFC and McDonalds also both very hygienic according to the other kids at her table Grin

UnderHisAye · 23/03/2021 16:09

Yes, our best friends both work for the local McDonald's franchisee, and they have only good things to say about it.

Although KFC's food is grimmer than grim.

snowcoveredcampsies · 23/03/2021 16:12

Oh no. I don't know what they coat that chicken in but I could eat it for breakfast lunch and dinner. 😍 and the gravy. Dear God 🤤

UnderHisAye · 23/03/2021 16:13

Something we disagree on Grin

shouldistop · 23/03/2021 16:21

KFC chicken gives me major heartburn

forfucksakenett · 23/03/2021 16:26

I buy the cheapo mayflower gravy from farm foods and try to recreate it at home. Never well right enough.

WouldBeGood · 23/03/2021 16:28

I think the KFC fries are superior to McDonald’s

There is this recipe for KFC gravy. I've made it and it was fine but no idea how it compares to KFC as I've never eaten that.

UnderHisAye · 23/03/2021 16:29

I don't know what to say.

This, of all things, may be what makes me flounce from Scotsnet Grin

UnderHisAye · 23/03/2021 16:33

I RAIL against KFC.

WouldBeGood · 23/03/2021 16:34

There, it feels good admit it.Wink

UnderHisAye · 23/03/2021 16:38

Oh I love a rail! I just think we like to rail about different things.

I, apparently, will die on the hill of bad chicken.

I'm disappointed in myself, truth be told.

shouldistop · 23/03/2021 16:41

Ahh Smile baby ds has been napping for 90 mins and bigger ds has been happy watching Disney films and now DH is home.
I survived the day and dh said he'll do tonight with the baby and give him a bottle.
And mums on her way with our chilli.

forfucksakenett · 23/03/2021 16:44

I don't eat it often because I don't like the way chicken is farmed but it is a filthy treat. I actually would quite like to go veggie to be honest.

RaindropsSplashRainbows · 23/03/2021 16:44

All sounds good shouldistop!

UnderHisAye · 23/03/2021 16:57

Not a bad day after all @shouldistop

We go veggie on and off...mostly driven by DD's conscience. It comes and goes really depending on how much she fancies a bacon roll on a Sunday.

fandabbydoozy · 23/03/2021 17:02

Our KFC is filthy. I don't miss it. I much prefer McDonalds.

I do love a subway though.

Used to work in the city centre too. Five Guys was majorly overpriced.

I liked going to GBK though.

Obviously pre lockdown and vulnerabilty.

I will be reflecting today as I know too many people, including relatives, who have passed away.

shouldistop · 23/03/2021 17:17

@Dinosauratemydaffodils aww I'm so sorry your ds is feeling anxious about his grandads death.
My dad died 3 months before the pandemic and I think ds1 has confused the 2 things in his mind and is pretty anxious about corona virus / death in general.
Your heart breaks for them doesn't it Thanks

UnderHisAye · 23/03/2021 17:29

Our local KFC was shut down after beetles and flies were found in the kitchen Envy
