The tone stays low and the railing goes on

In answer to a query about vaccinations, 50s here and waiting to hear. So no we are not all done yet.

I'm also worried enough about my underlying health to not want to roll the dice with covid.

We should have done first jabs over 50s and vulnerable in a matter of weeks though.

RaspberryCoulis · 22/03/2021 19:41

Podcasts, @MaxNormal. Listen to a us based one and you're less likely to hear covid propaganda.

RaindropsSplashRainbows · 22/03/2021 19:42

Threads moved on! BlushGrin

Back to railing theme:

Tonight Matthew, my railing has been confined to referendum matters. But it's a bit dull in our house as we all agree.

WouldBeGood · 22/03/2021 20:53

@RaindropsSplashRainbows yes. The referendum stuff is a whole new level

I had a mask related ptsd triggering episode in Lidl today, so sick of feeling so bloody useless and pathetic. When looking for the email address of the adult mental health team I realised I'd heard nothing from my psychiatrist since early July 2020...despite almost being sectioned in May and them knowing how much I've been struggling. Didn't bother emailing because what's the point...

Given I'm not allowed to mention Brexit in front of mil, dh is currently banned from mentioning referendums in front of me. He's currently seething (at the SNP), sulking (because I refuse to discuss) and looking at jobs in Europe (has an EU passport).

WouldBeGood · 22/03/2021 21:13

Oh, @Dinosauratemydaffodils 💐I feel so bad for you. I see these failings at my work all the time, and it makes me sad and angry. As well as struggling myself (also ptsd).

We can do it.. stay here and rail! At least that’s therapeutic

RaindropsSplashRainbows · 22/03/2021 21:15

Oh that sounds so difficult. I'm sorry.

Do email, it might do something.Flowers

Dinosauratemydaffodils · 22/03/2021 23:08

Do email, it might do something

I'm covered for 6 therapy sessions a year under dh's work plan so going to see about organising that tomorrow.

@WouldBeGood

It's a horrible thing isn't it Flowers

WouldBeGood · 22/03/2021 23:19

Awful @Dinosauratemydaffodils. Therapy has helped me immensely, but the masks can trigger it, along with the sense of being powerless. And other stuff. Solidarity 💐

That sounds horrible @Dinosauratemydaffodils @WouldBeGood.

I feel like a moan this morning. Got a message from my friend that does reflexology, sports massage etc last night saying she’s open again on 26th if I want to book in. Initially I was very excited about this as reflexology somehow manages to keep my migraines under control and they’ve been awful recently. Then I realised it’s still more than a month away, another month and then some before the treatments start working of having to put up with stupid migraines.
Why are things like that less important than haircuts? It shouldn’t be grouped together with nails and stuff. It should never have closed.
My migraines aren’t the worst but she looks after people that are in serious pain and now having to take lots of extra pain medication as they can’t have a weekly massage.

Sorry feeling a bit fed up as I can feel yet another migraine coming on (not helped with all the zoom we have to do these days)

RaspberryCoulis · 23/03/2021 08:14

Woken up this morning to loads of people on mt FB plugging the light a candle, moment of silence, lets have a "national day of reflection".

That's the LAST fucking thing I want. To stand and be miserable and think about just how fucking awful the last year has been. That doesn't mean I'm "disrespecting" the people who have died or lost someone, just that I'm done with the navel gazing and clapping and marking and remembering. Fuck that.

WouldBeGood · 23/03/2021 08:26

Yes, they can fuck right off with that pish @RaspberryCoulis. I’m all too aware what a shite year this has been. As are most people, I’m sure.

@Icannever that’s definitely worth railing over. Migraines sound horrible, and it’s really sad that you can’t get a simple treatment that helps. And surely reflexology is safer than other treatments unless feet spread Covid!

UnderHisAye · 23/03/2021 08:33

Agree @RaspberryCoulis it's just another pointless and mawkish clap on the doorstep isn't it?

cyclingbear · 23/03/2021 08:34

Completely agree @Icannever how does getting a hair cut in a room with multiple people come before treating pain in a room with two of you.
Physios have been allowed to work this time so I don’t see why Sports massage etc couldn’t for the purpose of treating pain rather than just a massage to ease off achy muscles.

I actually don’t get how hairdressers can start work before most other things, no logic whatsoever.

cyclingbear · 23/03/2021 08:37

Also agree I will not be standing outside my door this evening. I don’t want any more reminders of how shot this year has been and continues to be.

shouldistop · 23/03/2021 08:43

Oh Christ is there to be more clapping today?!

cyclingbear · 23/03/2021 08:45

Clapping, candles not sure if anything else at 8pm I think.

shouldistop · 23/03/2021 08:47

Well there better not be bloody fireworks as the kids go to bed by 7.30 and I'm done at that time. Last thing I need is a 4yo constantly getting out of bed because he's scared of the loud fireworks or baby ds waking up.
I got 90 minutes sleep last night, can you tell? Sad

WouldBeGood · 23/03/2021 08:48

I thought it was reflecting with a minute’s silence at twelve???

OP posts:
WouldBeGood · 23/03/2021 08:49

I’d never guess @shouldistop 😂

OP posts:
UnderHisAye · 23/03/2021 08:58

I think fireworks would be an odd way to commemorate more than 100k lives Shock

cyclingbear · 23/03/2021 09:01

Just checked @WouldBeGood and your right a minutes silence at midday and they are also encouraging people to stand in doorstep at 8pm with candles and torches

I wont be participating in either option

shouldistop · 23/03/2021 09:02

@UnderHisAye people are numpties though and it's any excuse.
A silence sounds perfectly reasonable.

@WouldBeGood Grin I'm on my third cup of tea, both kids are dressed, fed, washed etc but I look like a bag of shit and still haven't been for my shower. Going now before baby ds wakes from his nap then will drag 4yo away from the tv to get some fresh air.

WouldBeGood · 23/03/2021 09:05

Dear god, @cyclingbear. At least it will show me which neighbours to avoid 😂

@shouldistop I’m impressed! It’s so bloody hard when they’re little and don’t sleep .
