The tone stays low and the railing goes on

These comics on Instagram really sum up my mood at the moment

I'm not yet ready for reflection. Ask me next year.

I'm avoiding the news "churn" right now. I listen to science based stuff about vaccine development or virology which I find interesting.

Although this would be why I didn't know Scottish parliament had a leader of the opposition (when I visited Scottish parliament it was all about the consensus politics, man!) nor did I think conservatives had second highest number of msps.

ResilienceWanker · 23/03/2021 11:34

Thanks littlbrowndog! Maybe that can be my thing I learned in lockdown Wink

WouldBeGood · 23/03/2021 11:40

I remember the supermarket cafe outings. And being amazed that my child free friend had never been in one 😂

It’s dead easy resilience

Don’t feel the fear 💪

The most important thing is knowing your Apple ID or your google account for android

StatisticallyChallenged · 23/03/2021 11:48

@Icannever

I can’t cope with the idea of reflecting on this last year. I just want to forget about it but I can’t because we are still living it. Maybe a look back would seem appropriate in about 25 years but not now. Had to turn the radio off when it started on its montage of important moments set to some horrendous music this morning! Who on earth wants to listen to that! 😡😭
Agree, it seems too close when we're still living it
WaxOnFeckOff · 23/03/2021 11:52

It occurred to me last night that there will be people in their 30s now that have never ben an adult under anything else but SNP in Scotland.

UnderHisAye · 23/03/2021 11:55

I briefly saw someone quoted yesterday saying, if you look at Labour their record goes:

Lose, lose, lose, Blair, Blair, Blair, lose, lose, lose.

That's a large part of why we're screwed. They're not an effective opposition in either England or Scotland. It's allowed both the Tories and The SNP to become complacent about their power (and why not right?) and stopped forcing them to inwardly reflect on what they might do differently and better.

StatisticallyChallenged · 23/03/2021 11:58

I'm not far off that Wax - technically a few years of Lab/Lib but almost my entire adulthood has been SNP and I wasn't that aware in my teens tbh

RaindropsSplashRainbows · 23/03/2021 11:59

Resilience I guess that it will be more than I will.learn in lockdown if current trends continue.😅

UnderHisAye · 23/03/2021 12:03

I mostly regret that they've been in power for so long and haven't achieved independence. If you'd told me they'd be in government for a decade and we'd be no closer I'd have been astonished.

littlbrowndog · 23/03/2021 12:06

This Amy person video on every chat I go into is doing my head in

That’s a rail

RaindropsSplashRainbows · 23/03/2021 12:07

Poor Amy but yes I hate it.

titsintiers · 23/03/2021 12:40

I agree too early for reflection. Surely we can only properly reflect on matters once we know the outcome of this whole sorry saga.

Bytheloch · 23/03/2021 12:52

🤣 Amy video really annoys me too. Not Amy’s fault, obvs.

Dinosauratemydaffodils · 23/03/2021 12:55

Our Minister is doing a virtual service with candles tonight...I know this because the invitation pinged my phone at 6.30 am this morning. I won't be attending.

Ds has been asking loads of questions about his Granddad because it seems the school have been banging on about protecting vulnerable people including those with cancer and granny. That would be fine in context but overthinking sensitive ds (he's just turned 6) got it into his head that he killed my dad and has spent a week or so brooding on it before deciding to "be brave" and ask (he obviously wasn't responsible). Any way was looking for some videos because he said he couldn't remember granddad's voice...the difference between what ds experienced as a 2 year old and what dd is currently experiencing is so depressingly vast.

anon444877 · 23/03/2021 13:39

Agree with that underhisaye the SNP in this have acted very much like brexshit tories, they believe they're untouchable mostly because they've been shown to be.

The endless trashing of the only Labour leader who could win in the UK still goes on and on.

WouldBeGood · 23/03/2021 13:41

Who’s the hapless Amy?

SNP have been in power since I was 20.

We walked 3 miles (down the canal to get a Greggs & back), ate our lunch on the bench, gave the baby a feed & change in the cold on the bench then went to the park. Now home watching toy story 3. Who needs soft play eh 😩

DH will be home in 2 hours though thankfully and my mum is dropping us off a chilli for dinner so that saves a job.

shouldistop · 23/03/2021 14:32

Is it sad that I'm looking forward to the Morrison's cafe opening so we can walk down the canal and have lunch / feed the baby somewhere warm? Rock on

Oh my god, IMAGINE the explosion in bugs and germs once kids can get together at soft play again?? If I still had little kids it would be a long time before I let them persuade me to set foot in one again. Blurgh.
shouldistop · 23/03/2021 14:39

I'd take the germs so ds1 can get indoor exercise without me having to do much facilitating Grin

WouldBeGood · 23/03/2021 14:40

Soft play is rank but children love it.

OP posts:
UnderHisAye · 23/03/2021 14:42

Oh my kids were shite at soft play! My friends' kids would run off never to be seen again, and mine would stand whining at my side, wanting me to play with them. No, piss off children, soft play is really for adults, don't you get it?

WouldBeGood · 23/03/2021 14:44

I had one of each @UnderHisAye! I was so grateful for number two just running off. Dd used to make me go in with her (shudder)
