The tone stays low and the railing goes on

Took the kids for subway at the weekend as it was the only option without a queue. It was so stressful ordering standing at the door. Honestly I avoid subway if at all possible as I get stressed out by all the questions, too many choices but it’s worse than ever now 😬😬

RaindropsSplashRainbows · 23/03/2021 10:18

Subway blows my mind too.😄

Haudyourwheesht · 23/03/2021 10:20
@shouldistop your post has reminded me so much of when my kids were little. That feeling when DH closed the door and went off to work, and the three of us would look at each other like 'now what?!'

The days are so long when you're knackered.
God yes. It wasn't so much the waking up early that bothered me (although my kids were NOT sleepers) it was the fact that that gave us 3 hours to kill BEFORE 9am. I always wonder how parents who don't use TV coped.

Icannever · 23/03/2021 10:21

We had to eat our subway in the car too @lidlfix despite it being a lovely day as the seagulls have turned into vicious killers near us. Your taking you life in your hands walking down the street or sitting in a bench with food now

Haudyourwheesht · 23/03/2021 10:25

@Icannever and @RaindropsSplashRainbows Get the subway app. Then you can choose all your bits and pieces at your leisure and just pick up in store. I'm another one who finds subway stressful. Trying to balance how much extra veg to get your money's worth, with how much will actually fit on you sandwich. Especially when you can't even see it.

RaindropsSplashRainbows · 23/03/2021 10:27

Thank you for that kind tip Haus, however An app for a sandwich is far too advanced for me.😅

RaindropsSplashRainbows · 23/03/2021 10:28

Haus? Haud

littlbrowndog · 23/03/2021 10:36

Yeah the 3 hours before 9 was a killer

Just to go to a friends house where toddlers can play together and we can get some relief from constant drain of staying at home

Or just up to Morrison’s cafe for a plate of chips with kids

littlbrowndog · 23/03/2021 10:38

Sometimes I think I have forgotten what life was like before

RaindropsSplashRainbows · 23/03/2021 10:40

Yeo littlebrowndog. It was Tesco cafe for us!

ResilienceWanker · 23/03/2021 10:49

I'm in awe of people who's phones have space for all these random apps! The protect Scotland one alone is taking up over a GB of storage (well, it was until I deleted all its data again, which probably defeats the point...) which kinds of scuppers having any room for anything else.

Mmmmmm. Chips....

WaxOnFeckOff · 23/03/2021 10:51

I have hunners of apps but phone is 4 years old, i just don't do apple.

I also never loaded the test and protect. Seemed pointless when i never go anywhere.

UnderHisAye · 23/03/2021 10:56

What kind of thing do you fancy learning @RaindropsSplashRainbows ?

I got myself a decent camera and have been really enjoying going for walks and taking nice pictures of birds etc.

I also tried to learn Greek but it's pretty hard....working on it!

Icannever · 23/03/2021 10:57

@Haudyourwheesht Subway app! Genius, I never even thought to look for that. We’ll be off to subway every day now 😂. Actually can’t eat subway, hurts my stomach but kids love it.
Husband just asks for everything on his sandwich to save deciding and it’s quite funny watching him try to eat it.

DeepfriedPizza · 23/03/2021 10:59

I have an android phone with loads of space then put in a sd card for more space.

WaxOnFeckOff · 23/03/2021 11:09

Mine came with 128gb and i've not needed any more but I can add in more if i want. For example, I have 6250 songs saved as well as loads of apps and a few thousand photos and i'm still well under my limit.

ResilienceWanker · 23/03/2021 11:17

Ahhhh. An SD card may be the way forward. Though I am thinking about getting a new one soon anyway (mines about 6 years old I think and has never been quite right since I replaced the battery last year) so may just toddle on without being able to order sandwiches on demand for a bit longer Grin Mind you, I'm such a technological incompetent I really need the phone shops to open to get someone to transfer what needs to be transferred, as I'd cock it up otherwise. I'm really not designed for the modern world.

littlbrowndog · 23/03/2021 11:18

It’s really easy to transfer stuff onto a new phone.

You just place them close together and they do it themselves

Bytheloch · 23/03/2021 11:19

By sheer coincidence, I’m looking at the thread whilst I stand in a queue for a takeaway coffee at a local cafe. They’ve opened up even on the bleakest of days back in winter just to keep going- such grim times for all, standing outside pointing at the window in the general direction of traybake. I don’t even like traybakes that much🙈

As for the propaganda pish going on today, it’s quite extraordinary that we’re being asked to reflect on the events of this past year. I really can’t get my head around the purpose of today.

WaxOnFeckOff · 23/03/2021 11:23

me either, it's not like it's all finished and we are looking back, we are still in the same boat albeit it's been tarted up a wee bit and there is less optimism.

littlbrowndog · 23/03/2021 11:24

For iPhones

Icannever · 23/03/2021 11:28

I can’t cope with the idea of reflecting on this last year. I just want to forget about it but I can’t because we are still living it. Maybe a look back would seem appropriate in about 25 years but not now.

Had to turn the radio off when it started on its montage of important moments set to some horrendous music this morning! Who on earth wants to listen to that! 😡😭

littlbrowndog · 23/03/2021 11:29

This is pretty good for both android and apple devices as well

UnderHisAye · 23/03/2021 11:30

God knows @Icannever it's really all we've thought about for a solid year, now we need a minute to really think about the things we've been thinking about? Nah.

IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021 · 23/03/2021 11:31

What are we reflecting on? Doing the same shit thing over and over again and still being in the same position?

With the exception of the vaccine the handling of this has been utter shitshow.
