No social distancing at all, few masks in sight. Apparently at least 1000 outside ibrox , hundreds in George square.

Total superspreader events, even outside. The new viruses are much easier to catch.

Bloody great.

OP posts:

@RaspberryCoulis

Of course it shouldn't have happened and yes the police should have sent people home.

But I just don't buy into the fact that outside gatherings are the superspreader events which the OP mentions. Whatever the reason for that gathering. Like I said, I'm angrier about the vandalism and litter left on our local streets by people who probably got back on the train and went home.

I hope it isn't. Previous gatherings outside certainly didn't bit I do worry about the new variant and how close the hall were.

The vandalism is an outrage. I'm genuinely disgusted.

snowcoveredcampsies · 08/03/2021 09:57

How close they all were that should read.fat fingers.

Peppafrig · 08/03/2021 10:00

@snowcoveredcampsies

Haha *@Peppafrig* I love the desperation with which you are trying to make Celtic comparable.

Show me a time that any other football team in Scotland engaged in such mass destruction of their own city.

I'll wait.

I've heard this morning that they smashed up shops along argyle street? Is this true?

Absolutely horrific behaviour. They are a national embarrassment.

What you mean like this www.glasgowtimes.co.uk/news/17667881.watch-celtic-fans-blasted-leaving-glasgow-disgusting-state-following-treble-treble-street-party/

Celtic where also a disgrace with the Neil Lennon stuff. An absolute embarrassment to the club. The vandalism and rubbish is a disgrace and will have been a small minority no doubt. Will be interesting to see what NS has to say today. No doubt she will be in headmistress mode. I hope every journalist questions on why she allowed it to go ahead.

Snookie00 · 08/03/2021 10:05

I’m surprised it’s taken so long to be honest. We’ve been in lockdown and not allowed to congregate for a year now. The doom and gloom coming from NS shows that she isn’t intending to lift all restrictions any time soon.

Will be interesting to see if this causes a massive spike in deaths. If it doesn’t then it does beg the question why we’re still locked down so tightly.

thedevilinablackdress · 08/03/2021 10:06

Every single member of the government know just how precious Glasgow football is to its residents

Please don't tar us all with this brush. The Old Firm and it's sectarianism is an embarrassment. Living with this hate and violence is depressing. I feel desperately sorry for anyone who had to be out trying to go about their day yesterday in Glasgow.

Peppafrig · 08/03/2021 10:07

Where does it say online that rangers fans smashed up all of Argyle street and mass destroyed all of Glasgow last night . I’m in the city Center just now and all looks normal to me. @snowcoveredcampsies

snowcoveredcampsies · 08/03/2021 10:07

@Peppafrig yes that litter is appalling I'll give you that.

Not sure it's on the same level as smashed up memorial benches, smashed up shops and banners hanging from bridges saying 'haha you fenian cunts' right enough.

snowcoveredcampsies · 08/03/2021 10:08

Smashed shops on argyle street. The Celtic shop I believe.

snowcoveredcampsies · 08/03/2021 10:08

@Peppafrig I don't think that's what I wrote to be fair.

@thedevilinablackdress I don't agree with it and hate the division it causes but there is no doubt it is deep rooted in Glasgow culture. Having lived in glasgow till I was 25 and moved to Paisley I remember st mirren won something or other and just how different it was here. Big crowd etc but all positive and centred around families. The glasgow divide is very real whether we like it or not

This isn’t just litter. The litter was awful, I was at the treble treble celebration at salt market and it should not have happened but there was nothing like this. And it was not an illegal gathering to start with 🤷🏻‍♀️

Just saw that. It makes my blood boil. I don't know who they think they are. I live near a rangers stronghold and I'm sick to death of their constant poor behaviour.

The silver lining to lockdown has been no orange walks. When they start back up we get this on a smaller scale but just more regularly.

Peppafrig · 08/03/2021 10:13
celtsarehere.com/celtics-city-centre-store-vandalised/
Thanks for sharing this awful they smashed that window disgusting behaviour . The way a previous poster was talking I imagined the whole street was smashed up . The word mass destruction for a smashed window was a bit extreme . When the Rangers shop was in Glasgow I remember the window getting smashed regularly too. I used to pass it on my way to work back in the day.

RJnomore1 · 08/03/2021 10:14

Oh I’ve not looked any further along the street, that’s just what came up in two seconds googling.

snowcoveredcampsies · 08/03/2021 10:15

I wrote shops getting smashed up on argyle street sorry if that brought the apocalypse to mind @Peppafrig

There were many examples of destruction just have a look on Twitter :
Memorial benches completely destroyed
Cars bashed
Shops smashed
Fireworks fired at cars

Not to forget the numerous fights and sectarians banners posters and songs.

Peppafrig · 08/03/2021 10:16

I agree no orange walks and no hibs walks has been fantastic for Glasgow .

snowcoveredcampsies · 08/03/2021 10:16

Hahahahahha @Peppafrig you're something else wtf

RJnomore1 · 08/03/2021 10:18

It is quite spectacular reaching isn’t it

I've heard this morning that they smashed up shops along argyle street? Is this true?

Absolutely horrific behaviour. They are a national embarrassment.

Don't try and take the moral stand.

Both teams have fans that are scum.

Both teams have fans that are decent.

snowcoveredcampsies · 08/03/2021 10:19

It's dangerously delusional.

snowcoveredcampsies · 08/03/2021 10:21

@Wakeupin2022 absolutely true.

I'm not making it a moral stand and I'm not a Celtic fan. There are sinister elements to all teams I'm sure.

Rangers fans seem to me to always take it further than everyone else. Their behaviour is appalling. Over the years the vast majority of serious incidents/ events involving Scottish football fans have involved Rangers. They are a national embarrassment.

Peppafrig · 08/03/2021 10:22

@snowcoveredcampsies

Hahahahahha *@Peppafrig* you're something else wtf
So orange walks bad but hibs walks are ok sure. They are both disgusting and if you think no Celtic fan has ever muttered a secretarian word or vandalised anywhere . You are delusional. They are both as bad as each other .
