No social distancing at all, few masks in sight. Apparently at least 1000 outside ibrox , hundreds in George square.

Total superspreader events, even outside. The new viruses are much easier to catch.

Bloody great.

Idiots will be idiots but the club itself needed to show some sort of leadership in all this. Nothing from them.
We're in the central belt with pockets of Rangers areas and there were celebrations all weekend in areas where the covid numbers are stubbornly high. Rangers FC are a disgrace quite frankly but then I have absolutely no time for the Old Firm at all.

snowcoveredcampsies · 08/03/2021 10:24

There are bad elements in both, indeed in all football support, but the rangers fans take the biscuit.

I've literally never seen a Hibs walk. As far as I'm aware it happens once a year in Glasgow.

The orange walk goes by my house a few times a year and I'm forced to endure grown men in rangers tops following them, pissing on my fence as the police watch on while they sing about fenians in front of my Catholic children.

Bloodypunkrockers · 08/03/2021 10:25

Why do followers of either Celtic or rangers always do this, bring the other one into every criticism

Own the behaviour and stop with the whinging about what the other one has done. It's pathetic and childish

I also agree with the pp that one benefit of lockdown has been no knuckle dragging, flute tootling, drum banging morons getting bussed in for a wee triumphalist jolly

Exactly this!

That’s truly disgusting and not acceptable in any way. I have similar happen to me with the Hibs walk you are so lucky not to have to witness the sectarian chants that comes along with them too as they are disgusting . The sooner both are banned for good the better.
snowcoveredcampsies · 08/03/2021 10:32

👌🏻

RJnomore1 · 08/03/2021 10:32

Can’t agree more with that.

snowcoveredcampsies · 08/03/2021 10:36

Surely we're coming into an era where we should expect they will be banned.

Snookie00 · 08/03/2021 10:38

These people exist on both sides of the so-called divide. No matter how much politicians try to claim Scotland is a lovely welcoming place where racism doesn’t exist and how much nicer we are than the nasty English. These people don’t appear in the polished vision of Scotland that we’re expected to believe so it’s interesting to see how NS handles the fallout from it.

Bloodypunkrockers · 08/03/2021 10:38

Hopefully banned

I don't live in the central belt so I've never seen a Hibs March but if they're as poisonous as orange walks then they've no place in Scottish society either

snowcoveredcampsies · 08/03/2021 10:39

I'm in the central belt too and never seen a bibs March either! Didn't know they were a thing at all. Will need to google

Peppafrig · 08/03/2021 10:40

I can’t see one single reason for it being allowed to continue not one . It’s 2021 and we shouldn’t be wasting a penny of our Police budget manning these things. It must cost tax payers thousands and thousands . The organisations that run them should be sent a bill dating back years and years to pay for all the repairs etc . They soon won’t be long in canceling them.
snowcoveredcampsies · 08/03/2021 10:44

From what I can find there is one Hibs march a year in the city centre and it comprises of about 200 people.

Not acceptable but not comparable to the orange walk really.

Our local OW attracts about 500 in a piss and litter fuelled frenzy. The city centre one must be thousands.

I look forward to it all being banned.

They sometimes come under the title of republican marches. In 2019 there was 19 walks compared to 140 orange walks .

Literally a bunch of wankers then...

snowcoveredcampsies · 08/03/2021 10:53

The memorial benches are the worst 😭. It's just awful. There's another picture that shows about five of them completely destroyed.

Animals.

snowcoveredcampsies · 08/03/2021 10:53
Jesus. It gets worse!
IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021 · 08/03/2021 10:54

I have just seen a group of fans have went and cleaned up the square this morning. Not all bad it would seem

snowcoveredcampsies · 08/03/2021 10:55

@IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021 if something I was involved in had behaved so horrifically threats where I would be today too. Good for them. It's a shame they have to do it though.

It's a bloody shame, I bet they weren't even there last night.

snowcoveredcampsies · 08/03/2021 10:57

That's not threats

IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021 · 08/03/2021 10:57

@snowcoveredcampsies I agree. Most are probably utterly disgusted at the mess and violence and genuinely just wanted to celebrate the moment.

I just can't get over it being allowed to happen whilst businesses are closed and we don't even have all the kids back to school yet. It is horrifying

Nice to see them doing the right thing after a small minority of fans behaving awful last night . I hope Rangers offer to pay for the benches too. It would be the right thing to do.
snowcoveredcampsies · 08/03/2021 10:59

Well it wasn't really allowed to happen. That suggests it was okayed which of course it wasn't. It just happened because people turned up and started behaving like arseholes despite being grown ups.

The police should have broken it up but instead they took selfies with arseholes 🤷🏻‍♀️
