No social distancing at all, few masks in sight. Apparently at least 1000 outside ibrox , hundreds in George square.

Total superspreader events, even outside. The new viruses are much easier to catch.

Bloody great.

Definitely starts in homes first.

@ssd I do agree with you about the house parties. I think I will go mad if the schools shut again. I'm hoping for the most part people stayed outside which we know is lower risk.

ssd · 08/03/2021 20:25

But its after they went home. It was cold yesterday and most of them would have been tanked up. Inviting a few mates round would be the logical step. And then all those people might go into work today, if they arent wfh. Great eh?!?

OP posts:
ssd · 08/03/2021 20:26

And looking at the ages there, very few probably vaccinated.

StarryEyeSurprise · 08/03/2021 20:30

Of course there were house parties after. They've probably only just finished!

IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021 · 08/03/2021 20:34

They need to cancel the 21st but they won't. That in my opinion is an utter joke. The meet ups are all ready doing the rounds on social media. This time your going to have both teams in the mix and let's face it there is always bloody trouble even in normal times

ssd · 08/03/2021 20:34

I agree about the 21st. There will be riots.

icanboogieboogiewoogie · 08/03/2021 21:02

They should just cancel it. Give them a point each and maintain public order. Grin

StarryEyeSurprise · 08/03/2021 21:16

So we have three weekends of hooliganism coming up? Fantastic 🤮

IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021 · 08/03/2021 21:20

I honestly think if they don't cancel it and allow it to go ahead when all these meet ups are doing the round on social media they will have completely lost even the most stringent rule followers. Their tier system will not be worth the paper it's written on

ssd · 08/03/2021 22:06

I agree. This weekend is worrying enough but more of the same is bound to increase virus numbers.

We're fucked really.

OP posts:
ssd · 08/03/2021 22:07

Someone needs to step in and step up.

OP posts:
RJnomore1 · 08/03/2021 22:29

I’m less worried about the virus tbh than the potential riot on 21st. Who’s got the balls to do something though?

ssd · 08/03/2021 22:37

No one it seems.

OP posts:
areyoumeop · 08/03/2021 22:48

think most of the people who gather in groups etc have probably ignored all restrictions and have been attending or hosting house parties, only on mn are people 100% following all rules. from where i live you wouldn't even know that Covid existed apart from seeing masks in shops

ssd · 08/03/2021 22:53

You dont live near me then

OP posts:
rwalker · 08/03/2021 23:03

Nicola seems to have said the bare minimum about this .

ssd · 08/03/2021 23:29

She said plenty when Celtic went to Dubai.

OP posts:
jcyclops · 08/03/2021 23:46

In an ideal world, it might make the government rethink and delay any plans to allow fans to attend matches. I'm not a fan of collective punishment, but it might be appropriate in this case.

ssd · 08/03/2021 23:58

No that's so unfair to anyone who wasnt there. Even the rangers fans who stayed home shouldn't be punished either. The responsibility lies with the club, the fans, the SG and the police.

raviolidreaming · 09/03/2021 07:45

V interesting that Facebook normally going nuts about fireworks and the effect on animals and despite it going on since noon - hardly a peep on the local Facebook sites. People don’t want to criticise/ don’t want to be seen to criticise

This has been infuriating me! Any time someone posted on our community facebook group about the fireworks etc an admin deleted it. We had a full on fire near us started by fireworks, but still the post was deleted. Because, you know: Old Firm, and bigots got to bigot.

StarryEyeSurprise · 12/03/2021 08:21

I've just realised it's an old firm next week aswell. Couldn't be worse timing really. It should be cancelled, 100 per cent.

PoloMintPatty · 12/03/2021 08:35

I'm sure NS was asked about this specifically at the update during the week but there was no cancellation forthcoming. Not yet anyway.

If the weather is decent or dry at all I can see it being a perfect storm after a long lockdown and crappy winter.

StarryEyeSurprise · 12/03/2021 08:39

Yeah. Does she have the power alone to cancel it or is it the police etc? I don't know but it needs done. There will be riots.
