For all of us on Scotsnet who need to lose the lockdown weight!

I am going to restart slimming world tomorrow.

Got my food diary that I haven't used yet

So we can inspire each other regardless of which diet we are doing.

Hi everyone! I fasted again today and had nothing but black tea and coffee until dinner time. Then I had one chicken filllet stirfried with rice with broccoli, green beans, baby corn and some chili and garlic. It was filling and delicious! It was probably nearer 600 calories
than 500 but I'm not being too strict.

The scales haven't moved yet but I know I'm a tortoise when it comes to losing weight. I'll keep doing what I'm doing!

I really need to exercise though...Confused

NewSong · 05/03/2021 08:59

I have been bad with eating lately, too much chocolate, crisps and some alcohol!
Yesterday was better, went for a run so did over 16,000 steps altogether.
Going to try and not eat till lunch time although will be hard!

jabbathebutt · 05/03/2021 16:05

I forgot to fast today and yesterday arrgh, but the scales seem to be going down. My weigh day is Sunday though so hopefully nothing will change before Sunday. Did go for a short walk at lunchtime. Might go for a longer walk tomorrow if weather permits.

Not doing well on the eating, fasted for 16 hours on Friday although had milk in my tea. Did a long hilly walk today, over 18,000 steps today.
Going to bed now- knackered!

blowinahoolie · 09/03/2021 07:05

Doing well so far in eating right foods, but have had occasional pudding (small portion though) with family at tea time. Very bloated today due to AF but hoping that will fade in next few days and I will feel slimmer. It mucks up my progress every month 🙄

blowinahoolie · 09/03/2021 07:07

Cutting out bread every lunch time has helped. No biscuits either. Apart from walking a dog, not really getting time to exercise each day. Once all schools are back next month hopefully will get on better doing keep fit video on YouTube twice a week or something.

Nyx · 09/03/2021 22:59

Blowin, sounds like you're doing well - I would find it very hard to cut out bread. I can barely even cut down! That's why I'm fasting two days a week - so I can eat normally (for me anyway) the rest of the time.

Fasted today, will try not to overeat tomorrow. I think if I could cut down on sugary foods like bread and things I would slim down in a couple of weeks Blush

mondaywine · 10/03/2021 06:17

Not sure how I missed this. I have decided enough is enough. The weight is creeping up and I just keep on accepting it. I started WW three weeks ago. Have lost 4 1/2 pounds. Progress will be slow but if I can keep going it’ll be fine. I am struggling with IBS though as the additional fruit and veg is playing havoc with my tummy. It will settled down but it’s making it hard going right now.

jabbathebutt · 10/03/2021 06:48

I'm letting the side down. stayed the same again.

Might have a chinese tonight as DH has a job interview he's nervous about so wants a takeway just to relax a bit tonight.

But this is a guilt free thread. We are humans. we have days off, we slip up and make mistakes and try again tomorrow!

I’ve lost 7lb in 3 weeks when I weighed at the weekend.

I’m not fasting I’m just being strict about portion control, asking myself if I’m really stomach hungry or is my Head trying to convince me to snack. I’ve had cake and biscuits and all manner of junk food over that time but I’m also exercising most days more than I have done in years.

I’m loving the Apple fitness+ app - especially the dancing - I look ridiculous and must sounds like a fairy elephant to my Neighbour. I don’t notice any change in clothes fitting me better or anything like that which is disappointing but I will measure myself at the weekend to see if all the exercise and weight loss has made any difference to my inches. I’ve discovered muscles I didn’t know existed. I’m so determined not to end up like my mother who is the archetypal wee barra weegie wumman.. I don’t mind being larger but I don’t want to be restricted in movement because of my weight.

WouldBeGood · 10/03/2021 12:05

Well done @alpenguin, that’s great!

I’ve been feeling better for a bit more exercise too, but need to up it mightily! I’m going to get a massive shock when I get back to the gym

FuckingHateRats · 12/03/2021 07:22

Well done alpenguin!!!

I'm still the same. Hoping getting back in the classroom will help, because I'll have less time to eat!

alpenguin · 12/03/2021 13:10

Thanks @WouldBeGood @FuckingHateRats

Today’s weigh has me having lost 9lb4 in total so I’m pleased with that. Having a day off exercise and allowing myself a curly wurly:)

jabbathebutt · 12/03/2021 13:13

I am completely failing and I'm miserable as fuck about it. I don't even have any excuses. I just can't seem to get motivated. I tend to slip about half way through the week. I really need to get my arse in gear. I did so well in the past.

Keep going jabba, you can do it! Just take one day at a time. I haven't felt brave enough to step on my scales yet, might attempt it this weekend....😬 Would be good to have an idea of a target weight to spur me on though. Losing something, but clothes like jeans still tight. Can wear them, but could do with being slightly looser.

Nyx · 14/03/2021 22:05

Don't give up Jabba, you're not failing, it just hasn't clicked yet. I've not lost anything but I'm fasting on Tuesday and Thursday again anyway. We will get it sorted!

jabbathebutt · 15/03/2021 08:24

Thank you all. Trying again today. See how it goes. Was upset again yesterday as new dress I bought didn't fit. So need to send it back.

Fell off the wagon yesterday, I won't lie. Got a small box of Rose's and a small box of Celebrations and a bottle of my favourite red wine for Mother's Day. I gave most of the chocolates away to the 4 DC and DH but had a few too. Plus a pudding. There, I said it 😬

Back to normal today though. Only snacked on fruit so far between breakfast and lunch.

blowinahoolie · 15/03/2021 13:30

💐 jabba keep going, you have got this. We all have off days.

HotGingerPudding · 15/03/2021 13:33

That’s fantastic alpenguin!

I’m having less success on the scales so far but am slowly losing. It’s so easy to go off track when the results aren’t quick so am having to dig deep to keep going. I’m hoping to see a bigger loss on Friday than this week’s 1lb. Managed to successfully navigate Mother’s Day at least 😂

jabbathebutt · 15/03/2021 16:45

So far so good today food wise. I was going to exercise also but I'm bloody knackered. See how I feel after tea maybe.

OP posts:
FuckingHateRats · 15/03/2021 18:39

I'm still the same, which I'm actually counting as a win, in that I've lost half a stone this year and I'm maintaining it. Back in the school building tomorrow and back to a routine, so hopefully I'll start to see a loss again.

FuckingHateRats · 16/03/2021 18:03

Day 1 of being back and have eaten FAR LESS today. Also hit 11k steps already. Fingers crossed I see a loss next week

alpenguin · 22/03/2021 14:52

I’ve got a sinus infection and can’t breathe :( I’ve been unable to exercise for 2 weeks (mixture of illness and exhaustion) and eating alone hasn’t helped me lose anything even although I stuck rigidly to my calories to lose 1lb a week until Friday then I gave up and had cake to cheer me up.
Wishing I was able to exercise again but thinking it may be another week without energy to do so the way this thing is going.

I’m so done with rubbery snot :(

HotGingerPudding · 24/03/2021 06:26

Hope you are on the mend soon alpenguin That sounds miserable.

I have had as many off track days as on track recently resulting in the scales not moving. Have been back on it since Monday though so am hoping for a loss come Friday. I know from past experience I need to be consistent to lose. On the plus side I am upping my daily steps and even enjoying my daily walks again.
