For all of us on Scotsnet who need to lose the lockdown weight!

I am going to restart slimming world tomorrow.

Got my food diary that I haven't used yet

So we can inspire each other regardless of which diet we are doing.

Several fish cakes and chips down the hatch here - still a better trend though.

jabbathebutt · 23/02/2021 18:17

I had too many matchmaker sticks. They are 1 syn each, I think I ate like 20 but Blush

OP posts:
jabbathebutt · 23/02/2021 18:18

however, matchmakers are better syn wise than a creme egg which is taunting me from the cupboard so in a sense I'm being good

Please may I join? I've been trying since Xmas... Have lost 7lb which I know is good, it's just sooooo slow! I'm walking 10k steps a day and watching what I eat.

Today I've walked 13000 steps and I've had:
2 lattes (skinny milk)
A little apple
A slice of seeded toast with Nutella and sliced banana
Bag of Lite crisps
Having a portion of sausage traybake tonight (sausages, potato, sweet potato baked in the oven with olive oil and paprika, and then lots of green beans, peas and sweetcorn thrown in 5m from the end).
I'll have one of the little Aldi chic bars at 131 cals later

I reckon this takes me to 1700ish calories. I'm 5ft9 and this is what my body needs to lose slowly but also not give up after a week.

@titsbumfannythelot I’ve not paid for it yet. I’m on the free trial. I’m enjoying it. It’s not perfect but it is varied and you work at a pace that suits you. They have strength, HIIT, core, dance& yoga classes between 10mins and 30mins long - as well as ones for cycling, rowing and treadmill. You mix and match your preference.

It only works if you have an Apple Watch but that’s what I really like about it. You can watch your heart rate and calorie progress on screen and in some classes you can see how your performance compares with others of same age & weight.

I have it free until April when gyms open and I’ll assess then whether to spend money on a gym or kept the AF+ or do both

jabbathebutt · 23/02/2021 19:31

argh nutella. I miss nutella cries

You can get low syn alternatives which are shit-

The weather hampered 16,000 steps. But got 12,000 and apparently 74 floors. Am presuming that was my standing up and sitting down 😂.

Food wise good! Work days are normally fine. It's my days off that are an issue.

Zog14 · 23/02/2021 20:17

Food went quite well today

Had 2 x thai veg rice with the 2nd portion with tofu in a yummy sauce.

Plus a couple of cereal bars.

So could have been a lot worse.

I am trying the fast 800 but as a veggie happy if coming in below 1000 calories a day.

It’s keeping it up over long term that is the challenge!

shouldistop · 23/02/2021 20:22

Well I haven't had any dinner, I feel sick to my stomach about the extended lockdown.
I know I can't skip meals as I'm breastfeeding a 2 month old but I couldn't stomach anything.
Good for weight loss though I suppose!

HotGingerPudding · 23/02/2021 20:35

First 2 days back on track and have managed to stay within WW daily points. Have set a 8pm cutoff for eating but will have a cup of tea with a splash of skimmed milk later. I’ve not felt too deprived so far.
Good to read everyone’s meal and snack ideas as I find it easy to fall into eating the same things.

jabbathebutt · 24/02/2021 07:20

I'm having a hot chocolate this morning. being naughty but just really felt like one. I just need to be careful with my syns for the rest of the day. If the weather isn't too bad, I'll take the dog for a walk at lunchtime. If its as wild as yesterday was, it'll be the garden (in fairness the dog hates bad weather anyway)

Stayed within syn allowance today but could murder a massive family sized bar of dairy milk.

Porridge, Fruit, homemade lentil soup and chicken stir fry with rice noodles for evening meal. 3 baby bel light cheeses for snacks. Loads of cups of tea! Another day within WW points. Actually quite like the discipline of an eating window and the 8pm cut off. Hoping for a couple of ponds off by Friday.

WeAllHaveWings · 24/02/2021 19:35

Lost (and found) the dog today, so good news is walked for 4 hours, bad news is had a Chinese when we got back home.

Going to be sore tomorrow.

FuckingHateRats · 24/02/2021 20:12

Today I've had:

2 skinny lattes
One slice toast with Nutella and a banana (once I find something I really enjoy I tend to stick with it for ages)
A modest portion of a sausage meatballs/baked gnocchi dish
Some pic n mix Blush

Walked 14.5k steps.

Made good choices at the supermarket, loads of fruit and vegetables. Avoided the chocolate aisle. Stayed focused on the the job at hand.

Run ragged kind of day meant I had another day of no snacking in between meals. Dog walking takes up a lot of time.

Toast for breakfast, red onion, courgette and ham omelette for lunch (small grating of cheese) and chicken curry for tea.

blowinahoolie · 24/02/2021 20:47

Sounds like everyone is coping really well but it's normal to have the odd day when you have the odd cheat. I had a small shandy yesterday. It happens.

weegiemum · 24/02/2021 21:18

Went shopping today with ds and dd2. Weirdly I buy less junk food with teenagers than with dh. I don't drive so ds was happy to take me and dd2 was bribed with hair dye (they're 19 and 17).

Ham panini (and a little cheese) with mustard for lunch. One-pot fajitas for tea. Veggie for me, added chicken for the others. Fell down with a couple of glasses of Sauvignon Blanc but got to have something to get me through the footie!

People had asked for recipes, so this is my one pot fajitas one. Enough for 4 plus dhs lunch tomorrow.

2 red onions
3 large peppers
2 bunches of spring onions
2-3 large chicken breasts
2 tins Tesco Taco mixed beans
1 small tin sweet corn
Heaped teaspoon chilli powder
Heaped teaspoon chilli flakes
2 heaped teaspoon smoked paprika
1 chicken oxo cube.

Fry onion.
Add chicken then spices and stock cube.
Fry a bit.
(Take out chicken now if you want it veggie).

Add spring onions and peppers. Cook some more.

Add tins of beans and sweet corn.

Cook 10 mins.

Can also be done with kidney beans and black beans. Luchito pouches of black beans particularly good.

Serve with boiled rice, tortillas, salsa, guacamole, soured cream and retried beans, depending on your diet. I stick to rice but teeny tiny size8 dd2 eats it with everything! (As does not so tiny dh!).

huckie · 24/02/2021 21:27

Count me in too, please! I lost two stone through Intermediate Fasting 5:2. I'm hoping if I post here regularly I'll have the motivation to restart and lose what I've gained during lockdown.

Two baked potatoes, carrots and baked beans. A fruit scone and a long walk. Fruit for breakfast.

I think today might be a day off to cheer DD up although I will go for the healthiest option I can

Everyone's doing so well, and I'm glad people are posting when they are not doing so well too. It makes it more real!

I'm fasting again today, and I really need it. So just black coffee and sparking water so far (not at the same time), various hot drinks through the day until dinner time, then I'll have something or other - haven't decided what to have yet!

Weegiemum, thanks so much for the fajias recipe, it sounds really good.

jabbathebutt · 25/02/2021 18:06

Today was a day off but will try to get back on it tomorrow. I have been to tired to properly exercise so I need to get back on that too.
