I've posted it on the wrong thread. Blush

Anyway I'm OldRailer but namechanged as I thought I'd need my kid to do a link!Grin

JustTalking · 23/02/2021 20:47

Sorry about Would's thread. Flowers if you are looking in.

IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021 · 23/02/2021 20:52

Hope you are ok @WouldBeGood I think regardless if you agree/disagree with NS grand plans this thread is a safe space. It's nearly been a year and we had such a shite summer that it's ok to rant and rave.

If I want to call NS an arsehole then I feel like I can here. Yes it's immature and futile but just a chat to know your not alone can sometimes make all the difference.

As for the WHO stuff she can piss off. Seen Devi and Jason Leitch bantering on Twitter and it gave me the rage. I wish the SNP would campaign so they could see what is actually happening to people in Scotland with their zero covid plans

Elvesaremagic · 23/02/2021 20:52

I just can’t stand the idea of my s2 kid having to put up with online learning for much longer. The offering is utterly woeful. It’s one lesson a day online (yes, I bet there are worse out there) and worksheets, when the private schools around us are a full online timetable. We have given up trying to cajole him to do the work for subjects he’ll be dropping in the near future - it’s just not worth it. It seems like he is one of the few that bother attending the other online lessons. They dial in turn the camera off and then go to do something else. This is not an education. No one can pretend it is.

Elvesaremagic · 23/02/2021 20:53

Yay to the people getting blue letters! Brilliant!

Aww diddums, poor Jason Leitch...

Elvesaremagic · 23/02/2021 20:54

Devi and Jason are so smug, like those bloody adverts. Horrendous people.

OldRailer · 23/02/2021 20:55

We are lucky to have you .. you are a tonic..
I'm roaring with laughter at those. Too good.Grin

Callisto1 · 23/02/2021 20:58

I'm sorry you're feeling rough would. If it's any consolation I felt like vomiting when I was listening to the big announcement a couple of weeks ago. It's awful because we have so little control over huge parts of our lives and our children's lives.
Maybe your secondary school will send some sort of update? Our primary sent out a newsletter shortly after they announced the return of the early years.

Chrysanthemum5 · 23/02/2021 21:03

This thread is really important to me - I like the humour (even if it's a bleak humour at times 😅) and it keeps me sane to know I'm not alone

ResilienceWanker · 23/02/2021 21:06

(I've NCd, but a previous railer)

I second the WHO indicator related railing. The whole strategic framework is a pile of waffly strategic pish, but that jumped out at me. In fact, all of today's announcements are fully shit. I get that England (apart from schools) are basically proposing the same thing 2 weeks ahead, into March and April. But come on... Tiers, again after then? And they can say "weekly review" as much as they like. We all know tiers are never reviewed downwards if you're in the central belt. It's the hotel fecking california.

Flowers wouldbegood.

OldRailer · 23/02/2021 21:07

I'm in the central belt and am fed up with the long term prospects given the mindset of the SG.

Sweetpotatoaddict · 23/02/2021 21:24

The uk government lockdown pathway is clear and concise and talks about what would delay things. The dates are clearly minimums not fixed. The Scottish one is back to tiers and even vaguely alludes to phases...... which if I dig about long enough I could probably find which were in play through the summer.
We are living through a very challenging, isolating time. We need to stop the mind games, we were told we were getting our routemap today, all I now know is I can go for a walk legally with my folks from mid March and that perhaps we might return to levels from the end of April. Oh, and I can collect my JL click and collect from the store rather than Waitrose by mid-April Hmm
We need hope, or I need hope.

titsbumfannythelot · 23/02/2021 21:25

Resilience Wanker- god I wish I'd thought of that one!

titsbumfannythelot · 23/02/2021 21:27

Other than that, I have no words on today's shiter of an announcement. Or lack thereof.

OldRailer · 23/02/2021 21:31

I'm still wondering if we can sit in the garden. Ever hopeful about the weather.

Sootess · 23/02/2021 21:32

I love that someone has taken the name resilience wankerGrinGrinGrin

Groovee · 23/02/2021 21:33

@WouldBeGood 💐💐

shouldistop · 23/02/2021 21:33

Do you think people will just stop being tested in order to make it look like there's less cases?

jabbathebutt · 23/02/2021 21:35

cheering myself up by listening to 90s songs on spotify

Scatman came on. Fucking hell. That's a flashback.

Nipoleonthenoncommital · 23/02/2021 21:35

Thou should get tested at least once per day. For all eternity.

Bytheloch · 23/02/2021 21:36

I was going to name change to

At the height of my frustration with those ads.

Graffitiqueen · 23/02/2021 21:36

@Elvesaremagic I also have an S2. He's really struggling. He was in total meltdown last week. He really needs to be back at school. ☹️

Sweetpotatoaddict · 23/02/2021 21:37

They are increasing testing not reducing. If you are identified as a contact of a positive case you is have to be tested, as well as isolating.

ProvisionallyAnxious · 23/02/2021 21:38

You campaigned for Indy yet you are shocked by the thought of the rest of the UK as international?! That was the whole point of Indy!

I guess at the time I found the idea of an independent but outward-looking Scotland appealing. Possibly I was taken in. 🤷‍♀️ Certainly I didn't anticipate a scenario (even with indy) in which the government would disregard cross-UK relationships so easily. Ok maybe I was a naive twat...
