I recommend staying away from the jeans 🥴

jabbathebutt · 12/02/2021 11:33

I've gone up a jean size Sad. Pre lockdown I had lost nearly 5 stone. I really need to get myself sorted especially as my gym has gone online but I can't be arsed!

IncludeWomenInTheSequel · 12/02/2021 11:37

That's still bloody amazing @jabbathebutt Shock

jabbathebutt · 12/02/2021 11:39

thank you. I have put 1.5 stone back on, hence needing to get my ass in gear. Will try again next week as weekend is DDs birthday and much cake will be eaten!

littlbrowndog · 12/02/2021 11:44

I know I can’t even look at my jeans or my hagrid hair

runningpink · 12/02/2021 12:07

I done well last lockdown and actually lost weight. Partly from stress/anxiety/feeling really low.
But I appear to be using chocolate as my means of coping this time! And no amount of exercise is balancing that out at the minute.
Think my problem is what’s the point, I have no nights out, weddings, races, fun etcas an incentive so may as well enjoy chocolate and cake.

IncludeWomenInTheSequel · 12/02/2021 12:09

Anybody want to take a punt on new cases today? I could do with it going below 800, I feel like we've been stuck here for a while.

RaspberryCoulis · 12/02/2021 12:21

Fucking awful for dental students. Repeat the year.

fluffyugg · 12/02/2021 12:22

Still over 800 cases but only 220 cases outwith the central belt areas

Groovee · 12/02/2021 12:28

Dh went down to theatre about 8.45am. He's still in recovery. Hopefully know what's happening in a couple of hours.

Meanwhile I'm eating whatever I can find!

jabbathebutt · 12/02/2021 12:33

honestly, the number of international students on a certain university's FB page asking how to avoid quarantine. Seeing as learning is all online til September for the majority of courses, I personally don't see why they even need to come. I think a lot of them will come and get a shock. However, according to the news, they can still go out for a fag or fresh air -and bugger off-

littlbrowndog · 12/02/2021 12:41

Sending you good wishes for yourDH groovee

anon444877 · 12/02/2021 12:44

Fingers crossed here for good news soon grovee

blowinahoolie · 12/02/2021 13:05

Good recovery vibes to your DH Groovee👍

Wbeezer · 12/02/2021 13:12

@jabbathebutt is that the Facebook page of a certain Fife based uni? If it is i am horribly fascinated by the goings on on that page, it's eye opening, my face is stillShock from the accomodation cost thread where one woman revealed, with no self conciousness, that her two students had a one bed central flat each at a total cost of £3200/m. They have a very lifestyle/consumerist attitude to uni education IMO which jars with me. Very helicoptery too. Their offspring are probably desperate to be able to get away and buy alcohol! Meanwhile, DS2 is stranded at home and has not moaned once, apart from some grumbles about lack of access to the library.

Wbeezer · 12/02/2021 13:15

Groovee, hope you DH has a smooth recovery from his OP 💐

jabbathebutt · 12/02/2021 13:16

Its Glasgow's social media actually.

£3200 pm WTAF? Is it a fucking palace?

I'm going to nosey at their FB now!

randomsabreuse · 12/02/2021 13:19

The final year vet students at Glasgow are still mostly present in person at the hospital.

StarryEyeSurprise · 12/02/2021 13:20

I know they need to slow down soon due to supply being scaled back but this graph made me so proud of everyone working their backsides off to do vaccines, especially in this snowy weather.

New Fred. It nearly ended in tiers.
Wbeezer · 12/02/2021 13:32

@jabbathebutt that's for two flats, one for each child... It's a Facebook group started by American parents that has expanded to include more local parents and most of them are very kind and helpful but there are definite cultural differences inadvertently revealed in the exchanges as some of them are obviously used to the best of everything! My DS2 with his traditional "beans on toast" student lifestyle can seem like a poor Dickensian urchin in comparison!

IncludeWomenInTheSequel · 12/02/2021 13:32

That's incredible Starry!

blowinahoolie · 12/02/2021 13:34

Wales has beaten their February vaccine target. Go Wales!🙌

blowinahoolie · 12/02/2021 13:34

Putting other countries within the UK to shame.

Wbeezer · 12/02/2021 13:36

That graph is very gratifying. There was a lot of community action where i live, clearing roads and drives so people could make it to appointments.

jabbathebutt · 12/02/2021 13:37

@StarryEyeSurprise can't tell if that graph is showing millions vaccinated or percentage of population?

Iceland for example only has just over a quarter of a million people as their entire population.

wants to go to iceland for the 6th time Sad
