Tier 4 SE England have come to holiday house

Near my mum in Edinburgh (who is clinically vulnerable).

I am so upset about this. They have come to their holiday house with their teenage kids from Tier 4 SE.

I don’t know if I’m fixating on this because of my worry for my mum but I am so mad and upset. They are quite selfish people at the best of times.

Help! Tell me I need to get over it.

@arevioletsreallyblue

If you’re in SE why are you getting so involved in Scotnet part of Mumsnet? I mean, you seem to have a strong agenda on here about playing down covid and also I’m noting the ablest comments I responded to further up the thread. It just seems a little odd... I don’t live in SE anymore and wouldn’t think of going on SE specific forums and arguing with people concerned about their locality, I mean it just seems... odd? Or this an agenda to make it ok for SE folk to head to Scotland for a holiday?

Be causing, shockingly, when threads come up in active and mention tier 4, which I'm currently living under, i may click on them. Don't worry, I'm not actively searching through Scotsnet

I'm not trying to downplay covid, but think there's far too many busybodies and also people have lost a sense of empathy and proportion to other things, such as MH.

If you read my post properly you would see I said I can see SOME merit in the idea that some people have. Not that I actually support it, but that I can understand why some people think this way.

I didn't go looking in any specific forum, I responded to an active thread and then continued to look at it as it's not in my 'watching' section. And when it's treating my area like a bunch of pariahs I think I have every right to give an alternative view.

I'm not advocating going to Scotland. If you've read all my posts you'd see I've said I can understand and have empathy for why some people do things, even if I wouldn't do them myself or don't agree with them. Plus, as OP has admitted, her desire to initially report them was based on previous issues and if they'd been her friends she'd be more likely to be fine with it.

They sound like just proper selfish twats. Pointless trying to discuss it with them these type of people don't see past their own noses - only concerned about themselves.
I live in London and would love to have gone home to Edinburgh to see my family over Christmas but I wouldn't dream of it at the moment - because I'm not a cunt.

It's a shame you haven't reported them. Perhaps they would change their viewpoint after a visit from the police.

The more people are aware of reports the less people will break restrictions.

@unknownscot I know I’m so torn on it. I just don’t want to become that person I was horrified by in the first lockdown. Sad

Well you have to have them as your mum's neighbours for a long time. Strangers on the internet don't have to live with the consequences.

unknownscot · 24/12/2020 08:36

You're doing it out of concern for others. It's for peoples health.
I couldn't care less that I then had to occasionally live next to them.
