I walk or run on the spot if dialled into a teleconference or training session that doesn't need my specific attention. Good to know my exercise classes will still be on though.

Mrsjayy · 16/11/2020 21:32

Thanks @Mrsjayy. She's keeping ok apart from being stuck in her room

It's just terrible isn't it. We have had. The test centre here all weekend for voluntary testing I'm going tomorrow

Aurea · 16/11/2020 21:34

So if shielding children are encouraged to be absent from school in tier four, what are the ramifications for exams? Surely it would not be fair to hold them if it disadvantages the most vulnerable?

Happylittlethoughts · 16/11/2020 21:34

What time is Nikla on tomorrow?

toucancancan · 16/11/2020 21:34

Sorry meant to type physiotherapists!

Mrsjayy · 16/11/2020 21:39

It's usually. 12.15ish she's on

WouldBeGood · 16/11/2020 21:39

I think if the schools shut they should open everything else, then. With all these allegations of schools being super spreaders.

No point in everything being shut.

icanboogieboogiewoogie · 16/11/2020 21:39

I take it swimming pools will be closing. My DC love swimming. It's pretty much the only one of their 'normal' activities that they can still do. (Before anyone insists that children's activities are back to normal Hmm) they're not where I live.
Probably won't be heading down to Gourock for an open air swim.

WouldBeGood · 16/11/2020 21:40

But no “blended learning”

WaxOnFeckOff · 16/11/2020 21:40

@Happylittlethoughts

What time is Nikla on tomorrow?
Looks like 2.15 onwards, couldn't possibly do it at 12.15 like on other days as obvs need to drag out the wait a bit more.
icanboogieboogiewoogie · 16/11/2020 21:40

@Mrsjayy

It's usually. 12.15ish she's on

It's been later on Tuesdays. She normally saves these announcements till 2.20-ish.

WouldBeGood · 16/11/2020 21:41

She pretends she’s discussing it

WouldBeGood · 16/11/2020 21:45

And the public sector needs to realise the devastation this is wreaking on businesses.

I was in a little shop in my turn today abd the woman was distraught and saying this time they wouldn’t survive.

They had to make a call on getting Christmas stock in. No bloody good if they’re not allowed to sell it.

WaxOnFeckOff · 16/11/2020 21:45

Our pool isn't properly open anyway, it's open for lane swimming in the main pool or you can hire the small teaching pool out as a family group. That wouldn't really great for older DC but age 8 and over can swim in lanes and you are not allowed to move between the two pools.

So, not really great unless you have younger DC and can manage to book out an hour in the small pool. But yes, I expect that would be closed in tier 4.

Mrsjayy · 16/11/2020 21:46

Oh is it there is no need to milk it and cause more drama !

weegiemum · 16/11/2020 21:46

I (with dd2) was at Silverburn today, doing most of our Christmas shopping as it looks like level 4 for us in Glasgow City from Friday. Got most things, rest can be done online.

But Silverburn was relatively quiet when we arrived just after 10, but by 12 it was hoachin' and we felt quite weird it was so crowded. So no idea how it will be for the rest of the week. We were in Tesco too and it was really busy as well, though the lights outside were green.

Bit worried as dh is working this weekend in Dunoon, which is in Highland health board, and I usually go with him. As I need quite a bit of personal care and he's my carer, I can ask older dd to help but she's up to her eyes in uni work. She lives in Glasgow but not with us. Just worried that we'll be questioned on the ferry, or worse, when ds is driving me there. I really can't look after the caring needs myself. Ho him, will just have to hope for the best

Wbeezer · 16/11/2020 21:46

It's bad enough being stuck in the Wee county but at least we can sneak into Stirling for entertainment due to the family business HQ being in BofA. Went out for lunch today as its DHs birthday, so hoping its not the last time for a while.

WouldBeGood · 16/11/2020 21:48

Do you think she might see how unpopular this is and hold back!

Mrsjayy · 16/11/2020 21:49

Just go with him weegie mum you need the care and if anybody asks just tell them that I don't think you will be asked.

fluffyugg · 16/11/2020 21:51

I'm waiting to see if Aberdeenshire will get punted to tier 3...then meaning no travel into the city.

I think if there was a switch to blended learning in tier 4 then this would lead to a rethink about exams which the SG don't want to do

Lidlfix · 16/11/2020 21:52

Too shattered after school to do anything and that is making me feel and look shite! Used to get a fair amount of steps in in the classroom but not anymore. The constant vigilance means a headache that never fully shifts and sicky feeling.

We are all the same though. For me the fear isn't getting it it's passing it on.

My hair hasn't seen a hairdresser in 2020 as I hate going to salons and have to psych myself up , then the lack of appointments gives me an excuse to continue to avoid the inevitable telling off.

Stoorie hope your wee granny is ok and that you cope ok with not being able to see her.

I am trying to focus on what is in my control. Tomorrow isn't and my stressing doesn't impact on decisions. Tomorrow I go to school - teach, reassure pupils if they need it, plan for the next day. At home DDs might end up furloughed again and have fears that I can't do much to quell but I can listen. DH is pragmatic and worked 80 hours week in lockdown one at the start so he's not overly concerned.

Wbeezer · 16/11/2020 21:52

To paraphrase, I'm getting claustrophobic in Clackmannanshire.

WouldBeGood · 16/11/2020 21:53

Lachrymose in Lanarkshire

RJnomore1 · 16/11/2020 21:56

Arsed off in Ayrshire?
