Yep

GlassOfProsecco · 01/09/2020 20:05

My folks are there Sad

Feel very sad for them as dad has dementia & they are already so isolated.

I hope it's short-lived.

WouldBeGood · 01/09/2020 20:08

I’m having nothing to do with any further lockdowns, this is completely ridiculous. Enough is enough.

Monstermuncher · 01/09/2020 20:08

Sadly no birthday party for my DS. Today has not been a good day

WouldBeGood · 01/09/2020 20:09

It’s just guidance.

LizzieMacQueen · 01/09/2020 20:09

I think it will be short term. That lad travelling from Zante to Glasgow no doubt lives miles away from Glasgow.

Cluster in Dunblane and Bridge of Allan too.

ssd · 01/09/2020 20:09

@WouldBeGood don't be so dramatic. If my young adults obey these guidelines so should you. Its not all about you.

walksen · 01/09/2020 20:10

Based on greater Manchester it might be a few weeks at least. Even some of the areas due to have restrictions removed have had cases spike since the decision was made.

WouldBeGood · 01/09/2020 20:11

@ssd comply away. Most people won’t now 🤷‍♀️

What lad travelling from zante, I thought that was the plane going to Wales that was the problem??

Idiots won't. But then they never did.

WouldBeGood · 01/09/2020 20:12

There are increased cases due to increased testing, no increased deaths and few hospital admissions. It’s simply not proportionate now.

Ginger1982 · 01/09/2020 20:12

It has an impact on our childcare unfortunately so I'm annoyed for selfish reasons. It seems daft I could meet my in laws in a pub but not in their house.

This is fucking insane. In Tayside we were warned of a local lockdown coming as numbers were rising. We have 17 cases ( not deaths) per 100,000 people! I've more chance of being run over by a bus! People need to start using commonsense and object to these extreme levels of govt control.

TitianaTitsling · 01/09/2020 20:13

Wonderful...

DollyMixtureLulus · 01/09/2020 20:13

Feeling a bit despondant tonight, I have to admit.

LizzieMacQueen · 01/09/2020 20:14

@ssd. It was on BBC that one lad tested +ve on a return flight. It gave the date, think it was 23 or 24 August.

Not a lockdown as such is it, just banned from mixing households so visiting the pub is still allowed I guess?

It’s all completely stupid now. Time to revolt.

Pinched this from someone's twitter.

Glasgow, East Renfrewshire and West Dumbartonshire restrictions
PapsofJura · 01/09/2020 20:18

I would have thought that it would be far safer to mix in small groups in a house than in a pub especially given the brawl in the west end at the weekend.

Yes, pubs are fine, which is so infuriating!

I'm in one of those authorities. every single person I have on social media is saying they aren't going to listen because if they can go to pubs, shops, work, gym, school - then they can see their parents. When I heard she was going to talk about Glasgow, I thought pub closures but noooooo. Fucking madness. I'm anti social and don't really socialise but my mum is my best friend and I am hers. We are very very close.

Scotslassie1 · 01/09/2020 20:29

You can still have family providing childcare in a lockdown. Must admit it gets to me that people face looks downs because some selfish people refuse to follow rules and Covid increases through the community.
My friend in the Southern says hospitals are preparing for influx of seriously ill in four weeks time. 😪

LizzieMacQueen · 01/09/2020 20:30

Yes, it's the socialising in pubs that needs to be halted.

WouldBeGood · 01/09/2020 20:31

It’s the scaremongering that needs to be halted.
