Any appetite for a continuance or have I missed the new thread?
There was quite a heated squabble respectful exchange of views so I am sure there is more to be said......

I have been staying away from this thread as it is just like the Brexit Arms in my opinion.

But This is an illegal referendum called by someone sabotaging the interests of the uk's negotiations and threatening to fuck with their defences. This is absolute nonsense.

If the Scottish parliament decides to approve another referendum, then asks the WM govt to allow and they say no, and they go ahead anyway, maybe it is illegal.

But there are a lot of ifs and maybes there.

Also it is necessary to point out that the Uk were sabotaging their own negotiations pretty well before NS came out with her plan. IE messing around with nothing more than rhetoric for 9 full months, and now it is looking even more likely we don't want to negotiate at all, but just leave. Great idea there :)

Defences ? Not sure - unless you are worrying prematurely about the fate of Trident. Well lots of politicians in the WM are opposed to trident too.

I am NOT saying that agression would be from any SIDE.

I am just saying that what she is doing is NOT safe for anyone in scotland and I believe it is LIKELY to cause problems in N ireland which makes me extremely pissed off.

WE HAVE NO JUSTIFICATION IN SCOTLAND FOR STIRRING THIS SHIT!!!

I think Brexit is going to cause problems all over the UK, but yes it'll cause particular problems in NI.

I have read and enjoyed every single post on this (and the previous) thread.

I respect the position and personal beliefs of each pp, even if I don't agree with 50% of them!

As far as I am concerned, anything that promotes and engages discussion (at long last, we have been sleepwalking politically for generations) among grassroots voters is of benefit to holding our politicians and whatever Government is in power to account. This is what Ref1, Brexit, and a possible Ref2 has done.

Despite the inflated rhetoric, false claims, disinformation, political shenanigans, and 'woe is me' claims, from both sides, at least we all had/have a vote say.

I remain good friends with both 'yes' and 'no' voters since before and post 2014. The hysterical fringe can fuck right off and grow up. Nobody will die, and we live in interesting times.

At least Policeman definitely stabbed, and the knifeman shot by armed police. Also definite casualties on Westminster Bridge - eye witness saw at least 'five mown down' by car.

Quentin Letts, whose office overlooked the incident, gave a detailed account. Says police were 'incredibly quick' to respond - so that at least, is a relief.

There's a massive debate raging on Twitter about that. I hold the (minority) opinion that they should absolutely continue. That's what terrorists want, to disrupt every day business, it all adds to the fear and helps them win. HoC should get back to what they are doing as well (if safe)

Of course what has happened is sad and horrific, but assuming that it is deemed safe to do so, if life does not go on as normal, the terrorists win.
