what happened there??

So, to follow the logic here then Crown Prosecution Service have 'bailed' someone for possible prosecution under the section 28 Childrens Act - what happened to the strategy meeting required by law following the Laming Report???

hurtandworried · 21/02/2009 03:16

cin after police, long before dropping charges was decided

They don't always invite the parents lessons. It depends on some erm factors. They do fairly often have closed meetings (without parents). Then the social worker tells the parent's after.

hurtandworried · 21/02/2009 03:18

he hasnt been charged yet

Molesworth · 21/02/2009 03:19

Once again this doesn't sound right. A serious allegation has been made and as both lesson and scrooged have said more than once, this would definitely be a child protection issue.

scrooged · 21/02/2009 03:19

I thought your daughter had yet to drop them? You said earlier that there was a meeting on Monday and she was going to drop them then????

lessonlearned · 21/02/2009 03:21

Hats off to molesworth. Thank you - i'm too thick to link, but I;m well versed in legislation, FWIW.

Molesworth · 21/02/2009 03:21

this flow chart summarizes the procedure

hurtandworried · 21/02/2009 03:23

and what are the erm factors????

OP posts:
Molesworth · 21/02/2009 03:23

Aha! This flow chart seems to indicate that a CIN meeting does form part of the initial assessment procedure.

here

But I am amazed that this has taken three weeks.

lessonlearned · 21/02/2009 03:24

Again OPs account is losing cred. I'm sure he is off to study ECM before posting! Sorry can;t shed hardhat yet!!!

hurtandworried · 21/02/2009 03:24

yes she ismeeting investigating officer here on mondat

OP posts:
scrooged · 21/02/2009 03:25

they are erm because no one knows what they are. Social services are a law unto themselves. They do normally advise parents of a closed meeting so they can write a letter, which is read on their behalf inside the meeting.

hurtandworried · 21/02/2009 03:25

oh stop it lesson please

OP posts:
hurtandworried · 21/02/2009 03:25

OP posts:
hurtandworried · 21/02/2009 03:27

do you want her name lesson so you can check it out??

OP posts:
scrooged · 21/02/2009 03:28

HAW. If she reported this three weeks ago then they would have moved alot quicker then this. They are required to move within legal time limits (don't ask me what they are, I have them somewhere) IIRC, three weeks is too long. IIC, they have to act within something like 24 hours of a report, then have the first meeting within 2 weeks but I may be wrong as I now have brain death so am off to bed.

Night all.

lessonlearned · 21/02/2009 03:29

Sorry scrooged, The theory now is that the child is central and the family around the child is next ( except in safeguarding), the team around the child is next followed by the integrated system supported by legislation!!!!
This is supported BY LAW now!

Molesworth · 21/02/2009 03:29

Have to say this does sound arse about face. Lesson is clued up on the legislation whereas I'm just looking at the information I linked to (which seems incredibly detailed and well put together - well done Devon County Council).

The CIN meeting sounds like it's one of the very first things that takes place, yet the police have already interviewed your daughter and husband and he is on bail, you said?

scrooged · 21/02/2009 03:29

You may wish to have a chat to your MP regarding your social services department as they have broken the law leaving these meetings for this long.

hurtandworried · 21/02/2009 03:30

going back to cin thing, as we have a 'family safety agreement in place' ie he cannot come home, will that make a difference? i agreed to that on top of bail conditions and it carries on even ifbail is dropped

OP posts:
scrooged · 21/02/2009 03:31

Ah, when did they change this lessons?

hurtandworried · 21/02/2009 03:32
