My 14 year old daughter has made a statement to the police that my husband has been inappropriatley touching her and making sexual advances towards her. Please tell me where I can get some support around how this is making me feel. I can't find anywhere on the net for this kind of thing.

The OP said earlier that her daughter saw a TV documentary about sex offenders in prison.

I would DEFINITELY get specialist advice before allowing dd to continue receiving counselling from the school. I know you said that the police had approved this, but as has already been said, if this did go to court it could be used against your dd.

Once again, the link NSPCC

The first thing the nurse will have done is to make a safeguarding referral to SS. It does not matter what confidentiality agreement was offered - safeguarding is the priority.
The next thing SS would arrange is a strategy meeting in line with ECM ( by LAW)
The advice to proceed with prosecution would come from CAPU (OP, that's the Child and AAdult Protection Unit of the police) and they would consult with ALL agencies involved to make a PLAN!!!
In this case the plan was to proceed to the criminal justice system and a case put to the CPS (for your benefit, OP - crown prosecution service).
Your position is thus challenged OP, or my advice is to SUE on behalf of your DD (as I have said before!)
