Dating website for married persons

I received an email two weeks ago from a company called Illicit Encounters. It appears that someone who I know who has used the site has recommended that I would benefit from joining up

When I eventually put two and two together and realised that it was a friend who had recently started a new relationship with a married man, it started me wondering - yes it is wrong for too many reasons even to list but I imagine so exciting too.

Have obviously name changed for this and am expecting to be hung, drawn and quartered but would like others opinions anyway

Yes.

Hurt, betrayal and destroying various lives is always exciting.

Like them cool plane crashes people get to have.

morningpaper · 08/08/2008 08:32

yes of course it's exciting

but it's not so exciting once you are crying alone in your bedsit on christmas day after your husband has taken the children back up the motorway for a nice family christmas with his folks

but whatever you think is best

chelsygirl · 08/08/2008 08:32

jesus how can you be bothered

BreeVanderCampLGJ · 08/08/2008 08:32

Please note the name of this website, it is Mumsnet.

FabioFridgeFluffFrenzy · 08/08/2008 08:34

If you want exciting, do a bungee jump or go white water rafting.
Do NOT shag a sadman whose wife 'doesn't understand' him.
You'll get the clap.

wonderstuff · 08/08/2008 08:35

Turns my stomach tbh. I'd rather be happy than excited

girlnextdoor · 08/08/2008 08:36

Not exciting really- but if you want an affair go for it.

illicitaffair · 08/08/2008 08:40

According to the blerb when I googled it, the owner of the company is a self made millionaire from this alone.

So presumably there must be women as well as men who join up - can you imagine that? I mean if your DH found out you'd even joined, it would be over before you'd even done anything

morningpaper · 08/08/2008 08:42

what about some sort of hard drug habit?

that sounds like immense fun too

FabioFridgeFluffFrenzy · 08/08/2008 08:42

My guess is that there are far more male members than female.

ilovemydog · 08/08/2008 08:44

Yuck - so, you have to either be married or want to get involved with someone married to join web site?

They might just cheat and be single!

illicitaffair · 08/08/2008 08:47

It all seems so seedy and dirty but the membership is very expensive so these people must be fairly well off to join

OP posts:
FabioFridgeFluffFrenzy · 08/08/2008 08:49

And btw 'persons'?
People. The word is people.

SpandexIsMyEnemy · 08/08/2008 08:52

oh yes must be fantastic and illicit - and fwiw I would tell your mate to go and find some morals and get her own life and man instead of going after a married man. and if you know the man I'd suggest you tell him to fuck off back to his wife and sort it out or end it with her.

until you've been on the other side of this you will NEVER imagine the devastation it can cause and the hurt and pain you go thru form being cheated on by your husband.

but yes it's all fun in the moment isn't it am expecting a similar responce from the OW with my XH - and she'll get the raw end of it as well!

VinegarTits · 08/08/2008 08:54

Should be called 'selish shits who only care about their own happiness' dating site

morningpaper · 08/08/2008 08:56

yes also "blerb" ? shurely "blurb"?

doodle78 · 08/08/2008 08:59

it says membership is 'totally free'

is this just a publicity stint?

wessexgirl · 08/08/2008 09:08

I'm wondering whether this is a below-the-radar bit of advertising.

illicitaffair · 08/08/2008 09:12

The membership is free for women doodle

OP posts:
morningpaper · 08/08/2008 09:12

lol

perhaps you could send me a brochure?

SpandexIsMyEnemy · 08/08/2008 09:15

yes it prob is then isn't it - terying to boost 'sales' for married women as well are we??

sites like this one should be banned. imo - & there's nothing like a bit of healthy promotion is there.

illicitaffair · 08/08/2008 09:16

I just can't imagine any woman who would take the chance - i mean surely there are photos and identifing details you have to give?

Apologies morningpaper and Fabio for my mistakes and the fact it had irritated you but I have just returned from a night shift

OP posts:
onceinalifetime · 08/08/2008 09:19

But you've just said the woman who joined is a friend of yours and that you imagine it's so exciting

FabioFridgeFluffFrenzy · 08/08/2008 09:21

Sorry for the pedantry bit - I reckoned 'persons' came from the website. You should never apologise to someone being an annoying fucker a pedant.

Of course it's free for women, since when have women have had to pay for sex? The owner has made a fortune from sussing that men will do anything for a shag the genius.

Affairs do happen, but encouraging them is a Bad Idea.

I imagine the women members are quite young and foolish. Or just stupid. Women have far more to lose than men when a marriage hits the fan.

illicitaffair · 08/08/2008 09:23

yes i did and she is but it amazes me that she or anyone else would take the chance of being discovered. I mean people knowing you are married and cheating is bad enough but people knowing that you have actually seeked out a married man
