Date tried to put a hood on me during sex

I've been trying to date and honestly not had the best time so far.

I don't get a lot of free time because I'm a solo parent to my son.
So I went on a date recently. It was a low pressure walk (my suggestion). It went really well and we hit it off a lot better than expected. The only thing was that he made reference to being interested in the D/s dynamic. Can't remember how the conversation came up. I didn't make much of it because that is something I can enjoy, but didn't want to discuss at that point.

So second date we were at his house. He kisses me and things get heated. We're about to have sex and he gets about a hood to put over my head. Apparently one of his fantasies. I said no.

This doesn't sound like a man who's looking for a relationship, right?

I'm very sexually open and kink friendly.

But honestly, he is dangerous. Firstly, don't ever go to someone's house who you've known for a matter of hours. Especially when they spent your first meeting talking about their sexual tastes and kinks.

Secondly, engaging in S&M requires trust, understanding and communication. You do not assume you can put a hood over someone without discussing it first and agreeing your safe word or gesture because the sub always has to retain control. That he thought it was absolutely fine suggests he's very fucking dangerous.

If you have low self worth, please stop shagging men on second dates because in all likelihood, no they probably don't want a relationship.

ShannonMacFarland · 30/09/2026 17:45

OP, it's ultimately up to you to eventually decide how you feel about this encounter (and often it does take a while to work out your feelings), but with the hood and choking and bruising this skirts very very close to sexual assault IMO.

hypnovic · 30/09/2026 17:55

Yeah without discussion or consent this is vile behaviour and very far from D/s relationship which is ALL about consent. Giant red flag

The world was a better place when kink was just for kinky people. It was never something people were supposed to dabble in. Or escalate into because they were bored with standard porn. Or tolerate because that’s just what’s expected nowadays.

I’m a sub, and sex in short timeframe was never on the cards because there was too much negotiation to get through. There shouldn’t be any assumptions, or surprises. It’s talked through, contingency plans agreed, then trust established long before anything risky happened.

I want to say leave this stuff alone, but I think the genie is well and truly out of that bottle now. So if you’re open to a bit of kink, please, please, please educate yourself on what’s supposed to happen before hand and cultivate super high standards for who you’re willing to sleep with.

That’s the crux of the issue though - because women who aren’t intrinsically kinky, and have high standards, filter out these porn addled would-be doms. The very fact you’re open to considering some of these practices should be a warning sign to go on an all women’s retreat at a convent for a year.

It’s not cool to be open minded, it’s risky.

Sorry, op, I’m ranting a bit, and it’s not fair. I just really hate how acceptable practices are now that we’re once considered extreme in bdsm communities. I hate seeing women, who have been “introduced to kink” by boyfriends coming into kink forums looking for advice on how to achieve subspace because now it’s a goal to endure enough pain to dissociate from the trauma. It’s terrifying.

100%.

I was in the professional BDSM scene for 20yrs. We all spoke to one another, passed on numbers, heeded warnings: it was very safe, and I think largely that was due to the no-sex and intimacy. It was all very boundaried play.

If you carry on with this OP you owe it to yourself to join the community to keep safe.

I’ve still got access to the whole of the sex industry’s blacklist online now (useful for dating). OP’s experience would have landed him on that list!

JLou08 · 30/09/2026 18:23

That's way too much for the first time. It would have me running for the hills.

StarDolphins · 30/09/2026 18:24

no chance I would take this further, 2nd date and pulls a good out - back on the pile you go p

solosunflowers · 30/09/2026 15:52

It did happen.
I made this account because I wanted to discuss the evening.
I know it probably feels like I'm adding bits here and there, but it's a case that I'm thinking about it all.
Also my lips were bruised the next day after his kissing. I did tell him about this.

Chalk it up to a lucky escape and like others have said, BE MORE CAREFUL in future

So your first date was a walk, second date was a shag at his house? Up your standards OP. A “date” is a pretty strong word to use for any of those encounters.

In regards to the hood- very presumptions of him to bring it out on the first time without prior discussion. He also sounds quite sadistic, it’s a very demeaning sexual act. Fine if you’re into that I guess but you didn’t discuss it beforehand, he obviously assumed you’d be all for it so soon. Think about what that says about his opinion of you… he doesn’t respect you.

Awful .

ThorsRaven · 30/09/2026 18:57

solosunflowers · 30/09/2026 15:10

He did choking too.

It's not 'choking' it's strangulation.

Choking is when respiration is impeded by a foreign object lodged in the airway (eg. a grape or a chip when eating).

Strangulation is compression of the neck that restricts blood flow to the brain, and can also impede respiration.

Strangulation can kill: it can cause brain damage in as little as 30 seconds, and brain death can occur in 4 minutes. Strangulation can also cause a stroke. You can die from strangulation hours, days or even weeks after the event due to airway collapse.

This man is basically a stranger. This man strangled you, risking your life. He did not ask whether you consented - he steamrollered you (because he didn't care about whether you consented or he knew you would object). This could have been much much worse. This man is dangerous.

Is Prick Advisor still going. It's really needed for specimens like this.

He's almost certainly using prostitutes as well

What’s that?

I’m interested too. Is this a genuine thing?

On so many levels this is such a distressing thread. There is no consent at all in this. He whips out a hood and then choked you?! WHAT THE FUCK?! You know he would have choked you with the hood on, don’t you? terrifying. Did you talk about choking? Did you consent to the choking? And you wanted to meet with him again…why?

You keep saying you got swept up, but someone asking to put a hood over my face would be an instant passion killer. You deserve better than this. He gaslit you on a first date too. This is man isnt even low quality, he is rapey.

I bet his wife did not want a second child, she did not want to pander to his warped fantasies and got with her boss soon after they split because lets face it anyone else would be an improvement.

Yes I think it was a rubber mask with a dildo attached! Absolutely horrible 🤣

Ok, so I googled it. Grim, just grim.

solosunflowers · 30/09/2026 16:54

Another comment I found a bit strange. So after the first date and the reference to kinks, I did ask him if he was looking for casual/sex only. He got a bit iffy about it saying: “sorry if it’s come across that way, but no I’m not just looking for a shag. It’s a bit of a red flag you saying that out of the blue. What if we had had a hot kiss, or what if we had sex, who knows what you’d say afterwards”

if we had sex, who knows what you’d say afterwards

Sounds like he's been accused before...

...hardly surprising when he strangles strangers during sex without consent.

Mumtotornadoes · 30/09/2026 19:06

Nooooo! Absolutely not. DH and I are very into that stuff, not in a million years would he even do that now without asking for consent.

No one that's into actual dom/sub would be so cavalier about consent. It is ALL about consent. But some people who are into abuse, degredation, sexual assault will say they're into bdsm because saying "I get turned on by making you uncomfortable or sexually assaulting you" is abit of a turn off for most women.

If someone wants to introduce fetish into sex then that comes after a lengthy conversation about sex, likes, dislikes, safe words, hard nos, you don't just whip out anything on your first time with someone without prior consent, literally anything, from a feather to a cane to a vibrator or your own penis.

This man is not looking for a relationship or even a consenting sexual partner. He's looking for unprovable sexual assault.

You had a lucky escape OP.

I don't meant to be dense - but what's the criminal offence here?

Non fatal Strangulation is now recognised as a criminal offence

https://www.stockportwithoutabuse.org.uk/non-fatal-strangulation

Trigger warning ⚠️ etc

Non-fatal strangulation is a form of physical abuse in which an individual's air supply is intentionally restricted, often by another person using their hands or an object. This act can lead to immediate danger and long-term health consequences, including brain injury, psychological trauma, and sometimes death. Non-fatal strangulation is a criminal offence.
Section 70 Domestic Abuse Act 2021 (DA Act 2021) introduced the offences of non-fatal strangulation and non-fatal suffocation. Schedule 2, paragraph 4 DA Act 2021 introduced the offence of racially or religiously aggravated non-fatal strangulation or non-fatal suffocation. The offences came into force on 7 June 2022.
Strangulation is not a sexual act, it is violence.
The common methods of non-fatal strangulation are:

  • manual – one or two hands held around the neck of a person
  • chokehold or head lock – external pressure applied by an arm around the neck
  • ligature – for example a scarf or belt tightened around the neck
  • hanging
  • pressure on the neck from a foot or knee

Etc

Well I can't afford therapy. I am keen to work on myself.

I don't believe he's actually dangerous, though. Definitely not. It's about his porn fantasies.

Your judgement is so poor pn this one I feel sorry for you. I have a daughter and will be teaching her that you don't know someone on a first date or even the second. Putting hood to cover your head for your first time together without your consent is both disrespectful and Dangerous and you can't possibly be sure he isn't dangerous. He's a walking rred flag. I'm glad you're ok and I hope you meet someone better for you.

They have been separated three years. I was told he's divorcing but it's complicated due to finances. He is a single man!

I've met three men who were all divorcing and presented as single, excrept they weren't. All lied about it. When it comes to marriage it isn't over till it's over.

EmpressStorm · 30/09/2026 19:16

Why are you engaging in such risky behaviours, this is the issue, not whay he did. You meet a stranger, he discusses dangerous sex, you then go to his house and shag him? And are taken aback he tries the things he said he was into?

if you wish a relationship then raise your bar. Shagging men like this is not the way to get one.

It was a series of warning pages set up on Facebook by women warning of wronguns, cheaters and predators. Usually taken down within hours.

😱 this just gets worse and worse. Poor OP

ThorsRaven · 30/09/2026 19:24

Op, this man did not randomly have a hood around. It was planned.

Putting that hood on you, fucking you, strangling you, and acting out his porn fantasies was the entire reason he invited you to his home and brought up his kinks in the first date.

He didn't ask you whether you consented to any of it. He ordered you to put the hood on. He strangled you without talking to you about it, finding out whether you liked it and whether you wanted to. He did this because he didn't care whether you consented - he was doing what he wanted to you.

He probably saw your lack of strong rejection and assertion of your boundaries in the first date when he brought up his kinks. From this he understood that you don't have strong boundaries and he realised he could barge along during sex, do what he wanted to you, and you'd be overwhelmed by it and wouldn't object / walk out.

He is a predator.

You did nothing wrong. But there are men like this out there and you need to be prepared.

You need to think about what you want - from a man and from dating - what your boundaries are, and how you'll respond in situations in future, etc. What are the red flags? How will you make sure you stay safe? (eg. not going to a strangers home on the second date). Don't let them sweep you along. Don't give them the benefit of the doubt or always think the best of men because there are many 'bad men' out there.

If you want to date, then you need to think ahead about these things, and to put plans in place to keep yourself safe in future.

EmpressStorm · 30/09/2026 19:26

I can’t imagine the level of offense I’d feel if a man wanted my face covered during sex, I’ve high esteem and even I’d think he wasn’t attracted to me, and then trying to choke, it’s just a body he can abuse.

honestly op you’ve a child, this man basically told you during your coffee meet up what this was, you should have walked away and blocked him as soon as sex came up.
