Oh no, that’s awful luck. I hope you feel better in the morning after some sleep.

Amsylou · 30/07/2026 21:14

Oh no! Really hope you feel better. At least you can rest this evening x

SpiritedFlame · 30/07/2026 21:20

Oh no, sorry you ended up catching it. I hope you feel much better soon!

BasilParsley · 30/07/2026 22:32

Hope that doesn't mean he will be able to drop the kids off at your door at 7am Friday. Or will you just not answer the bell? Does he still have keys?
Get well soon!

ItsOkItsDarkChocolate · 30/07/2026 22:46

@mummy917

Oh no!

I mean inevitable I guess really. Hope it passes quickly!

MrsPerfect12 · 30/07/2026 23:07

Sorry to hear that! Wishing you a fast recovery.

Chattycatty · 30/07/2026 23:07

Ugh I know this is probably a projection from how my there we are then xh would be now but I really hope he isn't smug about dropping them off when you arent well when he was insinuating he might be too ill for the kids in the week.

Meteorite87 · 30/07/2026 23:10

I hope the illness passes quickly @mummy917 🤞

Holdinguphalfthesky · 31/07/2026 06:36

Oh no, and after so much time! I hope you recover quickly.

Needapadlockonmyfridge · 31/07/2026 07:15

Oh no! I hope you are feeling better very soon x

Lostpassporthelp · 31/07/2026 07:30

@mummy917 I hope you feel better this morning and that you managed to get some sleep.

mummy917 · 31/07/2026 08:32

Thanks everyone, I was up and down most of the night and feel very tired and groggy this morning. The kids are home but it’ll be freezer food and snacks for at least today for them and probably a day with lots of films.

OP posts:
Snazzysausage · 31/07/2026 08:33

Oh no.
Get well soon 💐

PrizedPickledPopcorn · 31/07/2026 08:40

Home early? Isn’t Friday a 10am drop off?

mummy917 · 31/07/2026 08:46

Yeah it’s supposed to be but he still tried his luck at 7:40 and obviously I was at home because I’ve been too ill to go anywhere.

Whatever gets you all through the day, @mummy917 .

Good luck, hope you're feeling better soon.

Ihaveneedofwaternear · 31/07/2026 08:47

My god, he's beyond a joke!

Hope you feel better soon, OP, hopefully you're over the worse of it now.

He's a nightmare. Did you say anything?

cowasballerina · 31/07/2026 08:50

Oh no. That's quite a slip up this morning!

Lostpassporthelp · 31/07/2026 08:51

He’s beyond a joke. He won’t, but he should feel bloody guilty dumping them on you so early when you are clearly unwell. Any reasonable person would have offered to keep the kids when they could see how ill you were and they had an actual day off.

What a dickhead that man is.

So he got all of the kids ready and out the door at just after 7am on the off chance he could drop them off to you early? What would he have done if you were out or just hadn't answered the door?

MaryBeery · 31/07/2026 09:01

Jesus, he's such an arsehole. Hope you're feeling better soon OP

mummy917 · 31/07/2026 09:15

He said he knew I wasn’t really going into work, and I told him I’d been up with the same bug all night, but he said nothing to that. Said bye to the kids and went on his way. They’ll not see him now for over a week.

OP posts:
MrsMuggin · 31/07/2026 09:25

Oh he's awful, hope your bug doesn't last too long.
You shouldn't have to, but for future, can you park your car a couple of streets away, leave curtains closed so it looks like you're out and just not answer the door when he turns up hours early? Tbh even if your car is outside, it doesn't have to mean you're in. Hopefully after a few goes he'll get the message.
I've been following your threads and think you're amazing. You've been so strong and put your kids needs first throughout without descending into any petty point scoring despite all the provocation. Your kids are lucky to have you
