You know we’d love for you to start part 4 soon so we can all stay with you, until things are more settled at least. If you’re willing that is of course.

Notquitethetruth · 09/07/2026 14:54

I mean we don’t want to swamp the next support thread, probably best just leaving it here. It’s ops posts, I don’t want to monopolise. I’m sure it'll be floating about places for a bit anyway haha.

Annonymiss123 · 09/07/2026 15:36

@Sodthesystem That is HILARIOUS!!! 😂 Take a bow girl. 👏👏

@mummy917 You're an inspiration!

Oh, I think it needs to be linked in the OP part 4 post, to help catch up anyone new joining the support team!

It really is amazing!

For me it was the same, I am not in prison anymore but......that felt scary. The freedom was scary. I have always likened it to being an animal that was bred in captivity but was then released into the wild. The freedom was wonderful but having to learn about a whole new world was really hard.

I think that’s the nail on the head.. my friend made me read a book called untamed and it was just like that all about feeling an animal that has been kept in captivity and is now free. but I didn’t really get it at the time because I was still in the thick of it and had no idea how controlling the relationship was at the time. Maybe I should re read the book knowing what I know now.

DeadBug · 09/07/2026 16:12

Hope you're okay, op ❤️.

AcrossthePond55 · 09/07/2026 16:17

@mummy917

Have fun at DD's graduation. Each milestone is a blessing and a curse. The blessing is that we are saying "Hello" to their next 'great adventure', the curse is that at the same time we say "Goodbye" to a slice of their childhood.

Since I'm 8 hrs behind you, you're probably already at the ceremony. I'm just wondering if he's there with all the DC and will say (in front of them) "I bet you're missing them and want to take them home with you". His mum notwithstanding, he wants his weekends 'free'. Wanker.

@Sodthesystem Your song was brilliant. It made me laugh hard but also a small lump in my throat at the undeniable truth in your lyrics.

Lostpassporthelp · 09/07/2026 16:49

@mummy917 I hope your daughter’s nursery graduation went well today and that you and daughter enjoyed your special day.

HazelBite · 09/07/2026 17:30

I think thread 4 should be entitled "There we are then"

How did the graduation go? Were you OK? X

mummy917 · 09/07/2026 18:56

Hi everyone, just had chance to catch up with the thread! I will absolutely make a 4th thread and will call it There We Are Then 🤣 I don’t know how to link @Sodthesystemsong in the next thread but if anyone does know how to, then absolutely feel free! It’s amazing and should be shared with as many women as possible!

We had a gorgeous afternoon and like I predicted, I cried 🥹 she was proud as punch as were we. No dramas from it thankfully and it was enjoyed as it should’ve been ☺️ however she didn’t want to go back with her dad at first but calmed her down and she settled bless her. I’ve had a much better day today and am looking forward to a bath and hopefully finally finishing Clarkson’s farm tonight, it’s only taken me about a month ha ha. Hope everyone is okay xx

Jardenalia · 09/07/2026 19:00

So pleased to hear it all went well today OP, I feel quite emotional about it as it’s 26 years since my DD left nursery and I still remember how full my heart was ❤️❤️. Have a lovely evening

mummy917 · 09/07/2026 19:09

Sorry I don’t know how to put a link in to the thread. I’m using the Mumsnet app so that might be why. It’s in the relationships category and is called There We Are Then 🤣

Honestly it was so lovely to watch her, I am so so proud of her!
