Husband took ring off during lads holiday

My husband recently went on a four day lads holiday to butlins (clubbing weekend) with 20 football friends. I noticed that in photos, his wedding band was missing. I’ve checked his phone and messages around that time are squeaky clean. Too clean.

Anyway, I confronted him and he’s admitting to intentionally taking it off but that’s he so so sorry, doesn’t know what he was thinking, would never cheat but just wanted some attention. This is the same man I’ve been begging for attention off for years.

I’m 3 weeks away from giving birth to our second son and not sure what to do or believe. Any comments?

You think?

OP, I just feel so sorry for you. This is a horrible, sickening situation at any time but particularly since you are about to give birth. So distressing for you and the very last thing you need right now.

I think I would sit him down and explain how this has broken your heart. That this is not what you dreamed of when you made your wedding vows. I’d definitely go down the ‘shocked, hurt, sad, disappointed, dignified’ route rather than shouty/ accusatory/ angry route. Be dignified and rational and explain that the priority right now is your physical and mental wellbeing, managing your first child and their transition to having a new baby sibling - and having the baby.

Then turn inwards and focus on yourself, your little one and your newborn-to-be. Wish you a good birth and a beautiful, healthy baby.

In your shoes I would absolutely not have sex with him again. From an emotional point of view as well as the risk of an sti. Give yourself time to see how you feel going forwards. To see how he behaves and whether anything more comes out. You don’t have to be nasty - be dignified, because it’s more aggro to be at war when you’re about to give birth - but dial something back in your heart and head, now. You don’t need to decide today whether you want to forgive and make a go of the marriage. You can reserve the right to decide that further down the line while you’ve got to concentrate on birth/ a newborn.

Good luck and I’m so sorry x

I think you're right to be concerned, unless he 'forgot' to put his ring on, (assuming he actually takes it off at night etc) then that would indicate to me that he was trying to hide the fact he's married, on the flip side, going through someone's phone is not something i would assume happens in a healthy relationship, unless he was being transparent and handed it to you. If you don't trust him then you're probably always going to worry where he is and what he's doing which is a horrible way to live a relationship. Being so close to having your 2nd child makes it a bit tricky for you i guess...not saying that there is a right or wrong time to stir up relationships but i'm sure you have a lot going on right now both physically and mentally.

Woah!!

@Anewappa @Onionsalad @KaleQueen just an idea, but why don't you just leave each other alone, life's too short for bitchin! Like i say to my kids, i don't care who started it, you're old enough to know better, now behave 😜

Make peace, not war.

I reported it myself. Thankfully it’s all now been deleted. Horrid start to the morning and completely uncalled for.

Well if it makes you feel any better I'm presently removing carpet underlay and grippers. Except the woman who owned the house and cat/cats obviously didn't use litter trays 🤮

I have the enyme cleaner coming today.
