Crushing so badly on my sons primary school teacher.

Ok so before anyone jumps on me for this, I KNOW how wrong and inappropriate this is. My son started in his class in September and from the moment I first clapped eyes on this man, I couldn’t help but find him extremely attractive. I’m not with anyone by the way and haven’t been for a few years now. Just recently, I think I’m seeing things that just aren’t there and it won’t go away. We had a meeting in school recently, and I’m not joking when I say the chemistry is real! For me obviously, not him. It’s all one sided. Anyway, as I walked to the school, my heart was racing and I’ve never felt ‘butterflies’ as bad as that before. As I waited in the reception area of the school, I could see him staring at me through the glass whilst he was quickly getting himself a drink. I also saw him give me a quick stare as he walked into the office. As I said, I know this is wrong but I can’t help the way this man makes me feel. I’m not sure if he’s in a relationship, all I know is, he’s the same age as me but doesn’t yet have any children. How do I stop this ridiculous behaviour of mine? It’s an embarrassment feeling this way in my 30s! He has also invited me in for an additional parents evening, that was just before Christmas, but again, I know all of these things are just him being nice and a lovely teacher. Even if he did find me attractive, how would I know? Is there any body language or anything I can look out for? Reason I ask is I’m pretty sure there’s another parents evening coming up soon, and I just wondered how he would act whilst siting directly opposite me if he was to find me attractive too. Thank you for reading if you got to the end and sorry for rambling on.

When did liking someone and asking them for a coffee suddenly become sexual harassment?

If someone you like asks you out, it’s ok - but if someone you’re not so keen on does it, then it’s harassment? What a minefield!

Or he could think you are sexually harassing him, I am fully willing to admit to me you are coming across as obsessive and yes it could just be the writing style

with comments like this, I understand why gen z are struggling to know how to get into relationships!

Exactly that! If he says no in the Easter holidays because he’s not interested, doesn’t want to, already with someone or what ever, that’s absolutely fine. I’m not about to harass him what so ever. I never have and never would 🫣

I have no advice on the whole teacher thing OP but I’m quite invested in this romance now and need to know how it all turns out 😆 rooting for you!

Kitchensinktoday · 04/04/2025 12:56

Honestly OP, just go ahead and ask him for a coffee when the schools break for summer. If he reports you for sexual harrassment (which he won't ..... ) then you'll know he was never your type!

Bignanna · 04/04/2025 13:40

OP - if he’s married or just not interested, can you really just put it out of your mind, considering all the emotion and time you have invested in this potential relationship?
I don’t think you can turn feelings off like a tap!

Yes, I’ll have the whole of the summer holidays and also, I won’t see him anymore as my son will be in another class. Also, I wouldn’t say I have feelings for him, I just have this crush on him because of how good looking I think he is. If he’s taken, or just not interested then that’s fine with me. As others have said, if he’s not interested or anything like that, it’s just a crush and it will pass

Thank you! I think I’m gonna have to be brave in the summer break and ask him

Oh, ok If it’s just about being good looking, then I bet there are a lot of good looking men out there!
I assumed it was more than just about looks.

No it’s purely based on how beautiful he is 🫣🤣but as you said, if he’s not ‘the one’, then there will be someone else 😊

This method of dating (being interested purely because of someone's looks) served us well for centuries. Its only since OLD came along that you waste spend weeks exchanging messages before considering meeting up!

What, you’d ask out your son’s teacher just cos he’s fit? What was all this amazing chemistry you were talking about? I was behind it till this update, now just seems daft.

Yes that’s where it stems from, because I find him extremely attractive. And yes, that chemistry for me was and is very real. When he walks into a room, to me it’s like the whole room just lights up. He makes me feel like I have a million butterflies in my tummy. Sounds silly to say all of that but it’s the truth. I can’t help but smile every time I see him.

All I’m saying is, if he’s not interested, or says no or anything, then it’s not the end of the world and I will move past it

I’m sure men approach women just because they’re fit? Assessing vales and backgrounds etc takes place on they’ve started dating

Exactly, and I’m one of those that believe you have to be attracted to them in some way to want to date them/start a relationship

Definitely, there’s no point if there’s no initial spark. I know attraction can grow but if it’s there to start with then even better

Overhaul54 · 04/04/2025 17:57

He could but as I said he would find a way.

Time and time again people get together with their partners DESPITE the circumstances.

How is the Op asking him for coffee going to change the risk involved for him?

But there are fit people literally everywhere, if that’s your only requirement, why make things awkward with your kid’s teacher. Just pick literally any other attractive man. 😂

Yeah of course you do, but sounds like you just need to actually meet more men if there’s nothing in particular of interest about your kid’s teacher beyond him being fit. Fit men are ten a penny, they’re everywhere.

As I’ve said above it’s not just that. It’s the way he makes me feel too without even realising it as I don’t think he knows about any of this. When he walks into a room to me the whole place lights up. He makes me have butterflies that I’ve never felt before, and I can’t help but smile every time I see him. He’s kind and gentle with the children as well, really nurturing. I know that’s part of his job but he’s just really sweet, so it’s not just that I find him extremely attractive
