I feel really upset over this and it’s stupid I know . But basically I’ve had three babies ( including one with said partner ) I’ve suffered from terrible self confidence issues regarding my lady part ( have a slight prolapse and obviously it’s changed a lot since births etc like no matter how much I do pelvic floors it makes no difference) so I feel like it’s horrible and there’s not much I can do about it , HE KNOWS all this . Anyway while I was in hospital last week my partner out of nowhere just said “ my vagina scares him !??” What the hell does that mean ? He wouldn’t elaborate just said it’s MEATY !?? Wtf . I’m now really annoyed to the point I don’t even want him to touch me now . AIBU ???

Upbringing and society has a lot to answer for.

The Vulva is a thing of beauty but we are often taught otherwise. They are all different and should be worshiped. We should be proud vulva owners. She is both mystical and magical.

Anyone who is prepared to show ignorance and insult the OP in such a way is really not worth it.

There are others out there who would appreciate the female form and all that comes with it.

I thought a prolapse had to be treated or it could lead to complications. The two women I know had it treated.

I agree, I thought the nhs fixed this, because it isn't cosmetic, it is medical.

He's a grown man in 2025 and he's definitely, definitely been on PornHub where (contrary to Mumsnet's belief) he will have seen all sorts of women's genitals belonging to all sorts of women. He's also, as the OP points out, had plenty of previous partners.

Also, the point is that even if you do think your partner's genitals look slightly different to others that you've seen, it's perfectly possible to keep that to yourself rather than being insulting about it. Also, her vagina isn't 'new' to him. She's his partner and they've got a child together in addition to the ones she already had when they met.

Could he just be scared about hurting you and got the wording all sorts of wrong?

I don't know. I had to have a hysterectomy because a proplase repair didn't worked. First baby's shoulder 9n the way out caused me to tear badly.

I had a hysterectomy too, my vagina is still fab, and if my husband said anything to the contrary, I would NOT be receptive to him visiting it...ever again.😦
