Who is likely the father ?

Hi everyone

This is a no judgement zone and I’d just like everyone’s thoughts as I am unsure and just extremely anxious and it’s causing me stress.

On January 13th 2024 I had a period that lasted until the 16th January.

On my period tracker app, it states that my ovulation date was 24th but changed to 25th (or the other way around). My fertile days were 21st Jan until the 27th Jan 2024. During this time I did an ovulation test on the 24th and 25th Jan but I still ended up having unprotected sex and ended up pregnant.

Mr A - we had unprotected intercourse and he ejaculated inside me on the 1st of Jan, 9th of Jan, 17th of Jan and 23rd of Jan at around 9/10pm.

Mr B - we had unprotected sex on the 19th of Jan and 29th of Jan but he didn’t ejacutlate inside me on the 19th of Jan.

My baby was born on 12 October 2024 due to being induced early. My EDD was 19th Jan due to period calculations and my final EDD from my first scan was the 16th of oct.

I do see a lot of similarities in the baby to Mr A and so do my friends and family.

Mr B, not at all, but I’d still just like to have a peace of mind.

me and Mr A were a thing but used to mess up so we’d make up and break up a lot in a small space of time. However, then he suddenly switched on me whereas mr B it was just a fling here and there whom I only slept with twice.

I know I am stupid for this, I feel it, but I just want to know everyone’s thoughts.

thank you

Sounds like you and MrA were trying to conceive, so he shouldn't be at all surprised.

I have spoken to Mr A about it he's ok with doing it. Mr B, I haven't mentioned it as of yet. I feel like he may be a little annoyed/doesn't care that I've had a baby as he's seen it on my social media. I will be seeing him at an event next week through mutuals so it may be good to speak to him privately or say that i need to speak to him privately and then bring it up?

Test Mr a first.
Then if negative, you know it's Mr b.
We are most fertile 5 days before ovulation. However, you will not know your exact ovulation date. So could be both. But if he looks like Mr a kids then more likely his. But must do Dna test soon.

I know you are going through a lot but you are taking out precious bonding time from dad.

I would just do the DNA test with Mr A as you'll know which one is the father as a result of that - no need for them both to do one

Threelattesplease · 10/12/2024 10:36

Just being blunt, so please don't take offence. With all this tracking going on and unprotected sex where you aiming to get pregnant?

colesr · 10/12/2024 10:46

do a DNA test - yes. I plan to do this but in my own time.

Your child deserves better.

Fabulouslyunfabulous · 10/12/2024 10:51

Does anyone pay child maintenance at the moment?

JollyHollyMe · 10/12/2024 11:06

As both know and neither have pushed for a DNA test then I assume that neither is pushing to be Dad of the year.

allthemiddlechildrenoftheworld · 10/12/2024 11:10

@Coolbabygirl2 why would you feel the need to do an ovulation test at all??

allthemiddlechildrenoftheworld · 10/12/2024 11:11

@Coolbabygirl2 please learn about contraception! it is free in the UK!

fruitbrewhaha · 10/12/2024 11:17

My guess is mr A too. And also to do the dna test asap. I know your head is all over the place but with a little baby it’s likely to be difficult. I think the sooner you know and can formalise the relationship with the father the better. He can start paying maintenance etc. It will be a weight off your mind.

No judgement for who you were sleeping with and when without protection but to be honest this thread is ridiculous - it is silly to ask people to “speculate”.

You need to do the DNA test. If you want to do it “in your own time” because you don’t want to know who the father is yet, then fine - but you clearly do, because you want hundreds of people to pass comment on the dates you had sex? It’s meaningless.

Drama llama. You shagged 2 people and had a baby. 1 is the father. It’s not a crisis, do the test.

I will do this. I just do t have anyone to speak to this about but most people on here are treating me like I'm an idiot. Thank you for your kind words x

I had no judgement at the beginning of the thread, but I'm judging your shocking attitude now. Your poor kid!

Merrygoround8 · 10/12/2024 13:57

Also, induced 3 months early? That’s very premature. Hope baby okay.

Oops, I commented. I didn’t think about the consequences of my behaviour and now it’s on mumsnet for everyone to see and comment on.

Sound familiar?

1smallhamsterfoot · 10/12/2024 14:05

I mean you did ovulation tests and barebacked with two guys so you obviously wanted to get knocked up... Did you not think about this situation at the time?!

TwigletsAndRadishes · 10/12/2024 14:09

zebrazoop · 10/12/2024 03:04

DNA test .

Can I suggest you use condoms if sleeping with several men. STI's can be nasty.

So can having a baby and not knowing who the father is. STI's seem like a small problem to solve in comparison.

Sounds likely to be Mr A but if I’m understanding you correctly, he’s not having any contact with your baby because you two had an argument? You don’t need to be in a relationship with him but doesn’t seem right for that to impact him bonding with his child?
