Sent a bum pic - he asked if I had worked out then said room for improvement?

Bit of context lol.. I sent a bum pic to my fiance... he replied why is there underwear on and then asked if I had worked out (we both know that we both need to work out but both haven't got around to it yet, a mutual thing, i ask him he asks me)
I kinda got offended because i thought that meant the pic didn't look good, so I replied kind of silly saying oh why don't you like my bum how it is haha and he replied "lol nice" (as in sarcastic like oh nice of you to say) - but didn't reassure me or anything which left me feeling a little insecure. So then I literally just said "that was a question" and he said he does like it how it is but there is always room for improvement as you would say. (i would not say this about his physical appearance)

I kind of feel like this is a odd thing to say lol - I mean granted there is! I have put on a stone or two. Just made me feel insecure, and feel it wasn't really needed. thoughts??

Don’t send photos of your backside to anyone.

This!

Well, some people do send pics and even (gasp) enjoy it. That might be a new dimension for MN.

My experience is that the recipient compliments the sender.
If he's not appreciating your pics and/or not sending his own, that is place to consider.

Absolutely. It can be a lot of fun, but if he doesn’t appreciate them, then stop sending them.

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 15/07/2024 20:43

WHAT!

The celebrated Arsenal football coach?
How odd, why would she do such a thing?
I think we need to get to the bottom of this...

Moonshine5 · 15/07/2024 20:43

OP I refuse to believe anyone's life could be this vacuous.
I urge you to do some voluntary work or a hobby or to get a life.

Moonshine5 · 15/07/2024 20:46

Why are you asking strangers what your fiance meant?????

Shan5474 · 15/07/2024 20:47

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with sending bum pics, some people enjoy that kind of thing! But I do think he was rude and unbothered. You obviously wanted him to say something nice (no shame in that) but he couldn’t even be bothered to type out a compliment or just choose an emoji. He doesn’t sound very encouraging or passionate

Choochoo21 · 15/07/2024 20:48

He should have reassured you and you should only say positive things when you receive any sort of pic like this.

But I wonder if he was a bit put out by you acting offended over something that you both regularly ask each other.

He was still BU though.

Don't ask the questions if you can't deal with the answers.

Oh, and grow up

UpThereForThinkingDownThereForDancing · 15/07/2024 20:49

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
You wanted positive and reassuring declarations he gave factual pragmatic reply.
Neither of you are wrong, you were just out of sync.
Let's face it no-ones bum looks better after weight gain, doesn't mean he doesn't fancy you though does it.
Stop fishing for compliments and if you want to start getting fit, make some small start even if it's just going for a short walk, it's habit forming and you can build from there.

He’s point is that “he reassured me after I said that was a question” but it’s like I literally had to ask him again. At the point where I asked why you don’t like my ass as it is, rather than say lol nice I would have expected him to reassure me at that point. Right?

Thanks for giving a serious answer though! All I was looking for really just a bit of reassurance! Haha.

The first bit sounds like a compliment? Have you been working out? Cringey as fuck but you seem to be angling for that. Also the asking why you have underwear on seems to imply he'd rather you naked again unlikely to be an insult.

I am also amused by PPs insinuation that this is an American thread and you sent him a picture of a homeless person, which he replied to asking why they had underwear on.

GoodVibesHere · 15/07/2024 20:52

It's the modern version of 'Does my bum look big in this?' I suppose.

Christ I cannot imagine sending anyone in the world a photo of my flabby arse. The mind boggles! I wouldn't even know how to photograph my own backside!

I mean ok your DPs reaction wasn't great, but if you're going to send photos like that and invite comment then what do you expect?

blacksax · 15/07/2024 20:52

sarahbranningtonxx · 15/07/2024 20:23

LOL funny. And yes I wrote bum because I didn’t want to use the word ass on here because people seem a bit PG.

Ass is a type of donkey. Arse is another word for your backside.

It's nothing to do with being PG (as you put it), it's to do with people using the wrong word by mistake.

hth

A ‘bum pic’ FFS, what’s happened to the world 😂😂😂

Greentapemeasure · 15/07/2024 20:55

You sound like hard work.

pinacollateral · 15/07/2024 20:56

I would never date someone who said there was "room for improvement" on my body.

Awful thing to say to your partner and also entitled - like "you should work harder for my approval".

Just no.

GalacticalFarce · 15/07/2024 20:58

You should've left it at the first message. You took a pic of your butt in underwear and he said "why have you got underwear on. Did you work out?"
I'd take it that your butt looked pretty good and shapely and he'd like to see more of it.

I actually only asked the question if he liked it how it was, because I took it as have you worked out today, as in, you said you was going to start working out, have you done it yet lol.

MN seems a bit PG? People write “fuck” and “cunt” all over the place here!

I’m just impressed you managed to get a decent angle for an arse shot tbh.

PickAChew · 15/07/2024 21:04
