Bedsheets and sex

I'm currently enjoying a new relationship, and we're having a lot of sex 🙂... every night we're together. I've not had that for a very long time!

Do those of you lucky enough to be in my position change your bedsheets every night (like I currently do), or put up with a "wet patch" and crusty sheets the next evening, or do something different (I used to put a towel down in my last relationship but sex was more planned then - now it's spontaneous and stopping to go get a towel kinda breaks the mood!)

I've only got two sheets and with work and other pressures, one of these days I'm. It going to have a clean sheet to put on! I may have to buy more! I can't be the only one with this dilemma.

Surely everyone keeps tissues by the bed? No? Grab a tissue, shove it up your vag, hobble to the bathroom.

This , we finish , both get given a tissue , go to bathroom - very rarely end up with a wet patch . Simple.

EarringsandLipstick · 31/01/2024 17:27

This is another MN myth, to join the not opening door, infamous chicken that lasts a week, and existence of toilet brushes.

How can this really be such an issue that you have <vom>crusty sheets to worry about to this extent and can't figure out what you might do to resolve it?

I'm pretty sure most people can have sex, use the obvious clean-up solutions if needed, and change the sheets appropriately if warranted, which most of the time it really isn't - what level of bodily fluids do some people and their partners produce?!

Exactly - and the tissue is not always required either - trip to toilet if needed is usually fine.

Why is he producing onto the bed? I've never understood these massive wet patches on the bed after sex

Yup. This too. Never understand it either.

Wisenotboring · 31/01/2024 17:30

The thought of sex being preceeded by the procurement of a special shagging towel really is enough to make my fanny snap shut forever. I'm probably a bit grim but generally i find that pulling out carefully and maybe some tissues nearby before the inevitable trip to the loo is sufficient. With a combination of children, work and hormones, sex can be hard enough to get enough of. I'm quite certain that if I also knew we were going to have to wash the sheets each time we just wouldn't bother 😂.

EarringsandLipstick · 31/01/2024 17:34

@Wisenotboring 'special shagging towel' 😂I agree.

OkPedro · 31/01/2024 17:35

A lot of the time it's me (the woman) producing the wet patch 😋

JanuarySlog · 31/01/2024 17:35

I'm so confused by the idea that shagging in the kitchen on the worktop is somehow less gross and germy than shagging in a bed 🤣

Even the wettest patch will dry one day.

I've got that on a poster above the bed 🥰

isthismylifenow · 31/01/2024 17:37

Loo roll next to the bed. Not sexy no, but easier than washing sheets every day.

After the event unwind sufficient loo roll to either mop up or block up whilst doing the knock kneed shuffle to the loo.

Not understanding the whole lot being deposited onto sheets either.

Leakage... As I said he seems to produce quite a bit and it does tend spurt out quite energetically - it's not a meek little dribble (sorry, probably tmi)
It's not generally a massive amount , but there's always something.

One of you is producing too much liquid during your encounters.

Mycatsarethebest · 31/01/2024 17:43

It's not just men who create the mess. It's also not just after but during.

Blushingm · 31/01/2024 17:43

I had a friend who would put her scruffy/old bed clothes on if her DP was coming over - as soon as he left she would put the nice ones back on

Neverpostagain · 31/01/2024 17:43

Where is the stray liquid going? Why is it so often on the sheets? Surely it goes in one orifice or another and the recipient nips to the bathroom afterwards.

Besides, even if it mostly stays in at the time, it can dribble out during the night...

Yes, he is! But what to do!

That would be a novel "should I LTB?" thread.

OP, those were the days for us, lol
We used to use a big, soft towel and washed that - we change bedsheets twice a week anyways.

A mattress protector helps

However, if you are bothing going for it big time - use a towel, saves not just the sheets but the mattress as well

Some of you would seem to be having very sedate sex.

harerunner · 31/01/2024 17:48

It sounds like some of your men don't produce much!
