Bedsheets and sex

I'm currently enjoying a new relationship, and we're having a lot of sex 🙂... every night we're together. I've not had that for a very long time!

Do those of you lucky enough to be in my position change your bedsheets every night (like I currently do), or put up with a "wet patch" and crusty sheets the next evening, or do something different (I used to put a towel down in my last relationship but sex was more planned then - now it's spontaneous and stopping to go get a towel kinda breaks the mood!)

I've only got two sheets and with work and other pressures, one of these days I'm. It going to have a clean sheet to put on! I may have to buy more! I can't be the only one with this dilemma.

Just clean the wet patch with a wet wipe and then use the hair dryer to dry it 👏🏻

ButteryBiscuitBaseBiscuitBase · 31/01/2024 16:55

We just have a special towel that we keep in the drawer under the bed! If there's no spill, which isn't always a given if you're careful when pulling out afterwards, then it gets put away again. If it's mucky, it goes to wash.

Maireas · 31/01/2024 16:56

Do it in the bath or shower.

mitogoshi · 31/01/2024 16:56

When I remember to do the washing Grin

Bit slack here

The room will smell of semen and bum if the bedding isn't changed and room aired.

Honestly the most bonkers thing I've ever read on MN and that takes some doing.

New relationship = condoms surely?

Other than that, a weekly change is fine right? Unless there's a night he isn't staying over in which case I'd put fresh on for me.

What does he do about his own sheets?

It's not that new!

Sex on the kitchen worktops is so much easier to wipe up. I'd recommend that.

Hmmm, shagging on cold, hard Formica whilst avoid smashing your head on the kitchen cupboards doesn't sound very appealing, even if it does have the advantage of being wipe clean!

Semen and Bum were the firm of solicitors I used to get off my speeding fine.

Dapbag · 31/01/2024 17:03

Have you considered the use of doilies?

Formica wouldn't be too bad, I've got granite 😧

Maireas · 31/01/2024 17:05

Have you considered two conjoined hazmat suits?

C1N1C · 31/01/2024 17:06

Several pillows under your hips so you run in rather than drip out???

harerunner · 31/01/2024 17:06

Maireas · 31/01/2024 16:56

Do it in the bath or shower.

He's tall so a bath isn't very practical, besides you'd have to wait to fill it up!
And shower, not really a fan of sex standing up - it's awkward and difficult to get a good rhythm, especially when you're constantly trying not to slip over and ending up in A&E with a cracked head!

Bath could be empty, just put a towel in.

Tbh, I've never done it in a kitchen worktop, whatever the type... Neither sounds appealing though - uncomfortable to say the least!

Maybe do that thing that's recommended for toddler beds - multi layers. Waterproof sheet/normal sheet x 3. Then after sex just whip the top two layers off

Marineboy67 · 31/01/2024 16:44

You needs a trip to IKEA

@Marineboy67

yeah, they could use a whole different bed each time!!

Stormbornform · 31/01/2024 17:10

We use old pillowcases saved specifically for this purpose. Whack one down over said wet patch and jobs a good'un. Don't want to be washing sheets more than once a week!

harerunner · 31/01/2024 17:10

Bath could be empty, just put a towel in.

Love the inventive suggestions, but the "mechanics of doing it in a tiny bathtub without any buoyancy from the water would make sex a contorted and awkward experience!

I like a sheet change. I’m sorry.

Maireas · 31/01/2024 17:12

What do you do when you go to hotels or stay with people?

harerunner · 31/01/2024 17:12

Tomatoketchupred · 31/01/2024 16:43

We have sex most nights, live together, I change the sheets once a week. I mean yes We get the odd wet patch but 🤷🏻‍♀️ I wouldn’t be changing them every day, no way.

Wet patch every time - he "produces" a lot 😮
