Husband randomly steals

I don’t even know where to post this and I feel incredibly stupid right now because I never even realised.
It just started because I complained about some random fucking carpet that was blocking my way in the garage. So apparently he has a habit of “just taking” things when he feels like it, and I never even realised. I don’t know why but I feel utterly ashamed and also shocked that he doesn’t see any issue with it. His friend was at our house when this came out (actually revealed it) and he also thinks it’s hilarious and “just something he’s always done”.
My husband has a very decent salary and this is not a money issue. I know that people seem to do things like stealing slippers and shampoo in hotels but a carpet?? It’s not even the worst, and I am sure I have only heard about the tip of the ice berg.
Clearly this can’t be normal? Is this something others have come across?

Btw just to be clear I haven’t stolen anything since I was a teenager ( wine gums) but I would not hesitate and happily do prison time to keep my spawn at St Bede’s

This can't be real.

This can't be real.

Of course it isn't

Thehighestmaintenance · 24/11/2023 14:10

MOTNIGHT . This can’t be real ?? What kind of shallowed life do you lead that you can’t comprehend a desperate mother putting her offspring through private education at any cost ? And to be clear I do mean ANY COST!!!

porridgeisbae · 24/11/2023 15:06

@Thehighestmaintenance I know your game but if this was a thing for you, would that include prostitution? Murder? Where would it end?

And your children will be learning things from you and your husband's attitude to the law and morals.

porridgeisbae · 24/11/2023 15:09

@Thehighestmaintenance You have a weird idea of fun. Haven't you got some Netflix/Youtube/telly you could be watching? I suppose you are making everyone's day more colourful.

Thehighestmaintenance · 24/11/2023 16:03

porrigeisbae Im sorry if I’ve offended you somehow but your totally missing the point. I haven’t committed any crimes and nor need to ,we are a well off family . I was trying to show that there is really nothing I’d stop at to get my DCs into a desirable school. I wouldn’t like to think about murder it’s a bit far fetched but I’d certainly put pressure on people if needed or extort someone of course I wouldn’t want anyone to get hurt but you can’t think that way if you want to reach the top I’m as ruthless as they come in my pursuit of anything I desire you can’t afford to be passive nowadays

porridgeisbae · 24/11/2023 16:06

@Thehighestmaintenance You're a top laugh. Make some threads of any kind please. Smile

Thehighestmaintenance · 24/11/2023 16:10

And yes I would sell my body I already have in many ways . I’ve never fancied my current DH and he knows, I love him for his money and the security he provides me and my children and I’m willing to share my body with him. I’m just truthful most women would sleep with someone if it got their child into private schools.

Thehighestmaintenance · 24/11/2023 16:10

Porridge woman How do you make a thread like seriously???😦 I’m new on here

Gosh, you are obsessed with private schools aren't you?! Why?

Imagine being self obsessed you take over someone else’s thread, spend the best part of the day posting on it and not bothering to work out how to start your own thread.

Or even, imagine being that self obsessed you make up a story about how theft is justifiable to keep your kids out state school because you don’t want them mixing with bad people, while their parent (and the person you are choosing to remain married to) is, in fact, a bad person. Just for attention.

which ever it is @Thehighestmaintenance you may need to some professional help.

@HappyMavis You need to look up the definition of henpecked

Sounds like my comment flew over your head. But there's no need to get into a flap about it. Maybe the answer will wing its way to you.

H112 · 24/11/2023 20:27

My ex randomly stole sometimes. Turned out he was looking for highs everywhere. Coke and gambling addict oh and was cheating too and I hadn't a clue

Pinkbonbon · 24/11/2023 20:43

The chicken is the worst thing as it could have been someone's pet :( :(

@Thehighestmaintenance You could write some very interesting self-help books. There must be a market for ultra-individualism with a criminal twist. Less 'Lean In,' more 'Step on Top Of.'

FiveShelties · 24/11/2023 21:26

Haha, excellent thread OP. I thought you had jumped the shark with keeping the chicken in the flat. But then you attracted posters who just surpassed your shark!

Excellent way to start the day😂

porridgeisbae · 24/11/2023 21:36

@FiveShelties OP (if a separate person) is probably well disappointed at having someone steal her wind. She'll have to come back with a spicy update. Maybe he'll steal an actual shark. Damien Hirst's shark. TheHighestMaintenance will be fighting to have it in her gold plated hall.

FiveShelties · 24/11/2023 21:42

@porridgeisbae I look forward to all updates from the 'pair'😂

merrywidow · 24/11/2023 22:12

Read 'Inside The Criminal Mind'. It might well have been called 'Inside My Exes Mind' but that would be a whole other thread. No excuse for stealing, NONE

I agree - I keep chickens and the thought of someone stealing one of mine is upsetting.

What happened to the chicken?

He takes random stuff, not expensive items, when he goes to people’s places. His friend even said that they (all a group of friends who have know each other for a long time) know about it and know where they can find their missing items when something is gone

I don’t know where to start with this.

I am staggered that an adult man steals from his friends’ homes, that they know about it, and he’s not remotely ashamed.

He is an embarrassment.

porridgeisbae · 27/11/2023 19:32

@Hibiscrubbed I don't think you need to worry about it. Wink
