DH is currently upstairs packing his stuff to move out - things haven’t been good for a while. Kids in the dining room, carving pumpkins, none the wiser. Im locked in the bathroom, quietly crying to myself, so no one hears. How do things turn out so bad, when you start off so amazing?

@SequentialAnalyst It's not just men who are like this. My ex-wife was exactly the same. You really can't put a cigarette paper between the behaviour of men and women when they cheat. They all follow the same script.

My post was not about cheaters, it was about abusive men, including one I had the misfortune to marry. He wasn't a cheater. But he was abusive.

I agree that cheaters of either sex follow the Cheater's Script, which is sadly known all too well on MN. I'm so sorry you were cheated on, I'm sure it must be very painful for those who are cheated on, regardless of the sex of the Cheater and Cheetee Sad

Ah, noted, yes. Abusive women do tend to follow quite a different script to abusive men, from what I'm told.
