So, I’ve just found out my partner got with his ex when she was 14 and he was 19. He’s 28 now
he says they did nothing at all until she turned 16 but I’m finding that hard to believe, we’ve been together for quite a while now and I’ve just found this out they’ve got a kid together they were together about 8 years and the kids 2 but it’s concerned me I can’t stop thinking about it. What would you all do? He’s such a lovely man so good to me but I can’t get over this. I’ve asked him about it and he did lie about his age at first then told me the truth and it makes me sick! I was in a 'relationship' with someone when I was 14/15 and he was 19/20. It messed me up. We were very much sexually active, and I was not mature enough to deal with the things he had me do.

If I found out someone I was seeing had been in a similar situation, I'd run for the hills.

My FIL was 20 when he met MIL who was 15. He thought she was 16 though. Anyway, they were together for decades, until she passed away at the age of 61.

I do find it odd that a 19 year old would date a 14 year old, but was she 14 years and 11 months, and maybe he was just 19 for eg?

My great uncle was 19 and my great aunt 15 when she fell pregnant, she married and had the child when she was 16 (he was still 19). So not quite the age gap in the OP but only a year out. They were happily married until she was widowed at 40. Different times though, I think 15 year olds were more mature in the 60s.

Hi all - we're afraid that we don't believe the OP is genuine. We've removed their threads and posts.

MN: eww, grooming, dump him, he's a perv
RL: teenage girls often go for older lads as boys their own age seem so immature.
On other threads MN: 19 year olds are still children, still need parenting until they are 40 25

In the eighties I had a friend who was 14 and was in a relationship with an older man in his 20s he had a car and would come and pick her up from school We all thought it was cool and no one and no teacher seemed to bat an eyelid!! This was an age where after school 14 year olds could get into pubs etc
It was a different era but still so very wrong though no one thought so at the time

I remember this kind of thing happening a lot in the 80's and 90's and it always seemed perfectly acceptable. Anyone remember Bill Wyman and Mandy Smith, she was only 14, yet their relationship was lauded and she was on the cover of magazines.
