We have been together a long time and have 3 young children, youngest is 3 months old.

We have been having some problems for a few months but if we talked properly things could have been resolved. He went out last night and came home this morning at 7.30am (he has never done this before). He text me at 4am saying he couldn't get a taxi and had to walk home. Technically it would take him this timeframe to come home.

However his clothes have makeup on them, smell like perfume and his trousers look like they have sperm on them, I have taken photos. He will deny this but I think there is just too much evidence here now.

I'm devastated and have to carry on as normal today for the children.

So sorry you're going through this op! I've worked for uc and dwp for years. The day he leaves change all bills into your name only, so council tax, water, gas and electric etc. then make online uc claim add housing costs and make a note to your case manager that you have an untidy tenancy due to ex leaving. Then they should cover the rent up to your local housing allowance amount. Do not delay as uc pays out 5 weeks from the day you make a claim. If you need any more info drop me a msg happy to help xx

Thank you so much @Thirtyandflailing i had applied and should her first payment end of January, they are also able to give me and advance and a discretionary payment so I don't have to worry for now it's quite a relief also meant I do not have to ask him for more money which he could use against me.

He's still trying to control things at the moment. He is coming over to see the children in the morning and after work so that my older child is unaware he has left. He says he doesn't want to tell her yet to protect her but he's definitely doing this because he's embarrassed about the whole thing and wouldn't want people to know.

Then take that power away from him. Take the bull by the horns and tell your DD yourself. And tell everyone you know. You don't need to cover for him anymore.

Do you think I should contact women's aid for advice.

FastingPhilly · 11/01/2024 08:59

Yes @padmorn 100%

At the very least they can direct you to more specific places if they can't help
