I think my DH cheated on me last night

We have been together a long time and have 3 young children, youngest is 3 months old.

We have been having some problems for a few months but if we talked properly things could have been resolved. He went out last night and came home this morning at 7.30am (he has never done this before). He text me at 4am saying he couldn't get a taxi and had to walk home. Technically it would take him this timeframe to come home.

However his clothes have makeup on them, smell like perfume and his trousers look like they have sperm on them, I have taken photos. He will deny this but I think there is just too much evidence here now.

I'm devastated and have to carry on as normal today for the children.

You should be so proud of yourself, enjoy your space and time. Good luck in your new life

DollyDaydream92 · 02/07/2023 13:32

Well done for being so strong! I hear way more stories of women simply forgiving and forgetting, not that there’s anything wrong with that each to their own for choices, but personally I never could. Your going to love your new freedom! I’ve actually decided I never want to live with a man again. It’s basically like having a other child to look after. You may end up feeling the same when you see how peaceful it is. He sounds like a complete ass. And as another poster said he’ll change his tune about having the kids overnight so much if he realises you’ll use that time to go out and have fun. Or when he wants to go out and have fun, if he’s the type who goes out all night drinking. Some men never grow up. Also how will he pick up women if he’s got the kids in tow. Empty threats. Hope your feeling better x

We are very proud of you @nnamechangee !

Take each day as it comes and it will get easier and then better and better.

How are you OP?

padmorn · 02/01/2024 09:34

Update (name changed)

It took my from April up until this point to sort myself out mentally. Regardless of what I said before it's been tough to get DH to leave and also me accept that after such a long time this has happened.

Overall he had been texting other women from work and coming back from nights out with makeup on him, being rude and horrible, blaming me for being a shit wife.

However he is actually packing at the moment and leaving today. He has put a deposit down and for keys for a spare room type situation. I feel happy and free.

I have organised my return to work soon and universal credits are helping me and I will be absolutely fine. I'm not worried about money.

He is trying to still be somewhat controlling and won't take the children so I can go to the gym at nights etc. so I've ordered kettlebells etc and going to show him that I don't need his help and I'm going to get fit and health physically and mentally.

FastingPhilly · 02/01/2024 09:48

The freedom you will feel once he walks out that door @padmorn is amazing! You have got this x

MagicBullet · 02/01/2024 09:53

I am so pleased to hear your update.

What an awesome start to 2024, you are a strong lady.
You and your children will thrive (as myself and my children did in similar circumstances)

Have a wonderful new life, onwards and upwards Darling 🙌🥂❤

Really great update, OP. Glad he's finally going and you are not letting him thwart you in your plans to get healthy, fit and be happy without him.

YouStupidGirl · 02/01/2024 16:49

You are an inspiration op.

So he’s gone from wanting full custody of the children to won’t even have them one night so you can get out for a bit? Well, he quickly changed his tune didn’t he (such a shock - not!)

You carry on as you are, you’re doing great xx

itsmylife7 · 02/01/2024 17:04
