Found a mobile in DH's desk draw

I was tidying up DH's home office when I found a mysterious mobile in the draw, I feel devastated. I managed to turn it on but it's got a passcode.

After all the times I've read about this on mumsnet I never thought it would happen to me but when I think about it he has been distant lately, seems distracted and he has been working late popping off to meeting later in the day etc.

DH doesnt know I've found it and he is out at the moment, does anyone have any words of advice or how to go about bringing it up?

sometimes he works but depends on his work load

It won’t identify you if you add it, just don’t send a message obviously. All you want to do is add it into your contacts then go to your WhatsApp, click onto chats, press the plus icon and search for the contact, press it to start a chat but don’t type or send anything. Then press on their profile pic even if it’s blank and see what’s there.

Not if you don't send a message or anything. You can just add the number to your phone as a contact then go to new conversations and it'll bring up your contact list.

Is the message from a number or a name?
If it's a number, check that one too.

on WhatsApp. Get the app. Add the number. See if there is a photo.

But bear in mind a lot of people only make their photo visible to THEIR contacts...so you may see nothing

To see a picture you may have to actually add the contact which I’m pretty sure would put you on his list.

You can also look up the phone number on FB to see if it belongs to anyone. or type on google as some have them phone numbers linked to their linkedin

Can you see what Bluetooth devices are discoverable on your phone … at a time when he is home and likely to use the phone…. if indeed he has the phone for secret reasons.

You'd think he would have had enough sense to lock the drawer if he didn't want anyone going in it. It's a mystery and I hope it isn't what you think it is. I'd be going through all his drawers now if I were you looking for stuff.

Add the contact number to your numbers and then open whatsapp - you will be able to see their profile and they won't know.

Also try googling the number - you never know.

And then wait and see what he tells you is happening tomorrow.

I have to say - it's quite formal if from an illicit lover. "See you tomorrow at 5:30" doesn't have the ring of "Can't wait to you see you tomorrow xxxx".

Can you ring the number from your phone (with your number withheld?). It may have a voicemail message that gives a clue.

I just opened my top drawer on my work desk, two old iphones in there.

One old and damaged, the other the old contract phone that I never got around to selling.

It may not be as you imagine.
