Does your dp go for a poo in front of you

Help to settle a very light hearted discussion please. I've watched everything on Netflix and am this bored!

Been with dh for 5 years and we don't poo in front of each other. We were discussing ex relationships ( don't ask me how ) but the topic came up that my ex partner used to go for a poo in front of me ( never bothered me).

DH said it's weird and that he doesn't imagine many couples do this , I disagree and think it's probably quite common.

So do you/ your partner or has an ex ever done this ?

Good god no. I couldn’t think of anything worse.

Runmybathforme · 19/12/2022 16:51

Yuck, never done that, never would. I like to think there's some romance left in our relationship. Besides, when my DH is in there, it tends to be for a while.

confusednewbie · 19/12/2022 16:51

In front of each other? As in in the bathroom while the other is present? Absolutely not.

Blowyourowntrumpet · 19/12/2022 16:53

No way. It's grim

RJnomore1 · 19/12/2022 16:53

Jeez I misread this as dog

What? No, of course not! That's disgusting 🤮

sunlovingcriminal · 19/12/2022 16:56

Nope. Weeing is just about okay, definitely not number 2s.

Itchintobestitchin · 19/12/2022 16:57

I dated someone who left the bathroom door open so he could talk to me while he had a poop. The relationship was brief.

XJerseyGirlX · 19/12/2022 16:59

Hmmm interesting, seems dh may be right. Thanks for your responses, it's definitely not something I plan on doing but genuinely thought it was quite common.

Really ? Hmm

SwordToFlamethrower · 19/12/2022 16:59

We do! DH commonly barges into me to tell me something urgent while I am pooing. (Usually a funny meme)
Same for me.
Sometimes, if I've done what I would call an impressive poo, ill call on DH to have a look for his opinion.

This is not normal? No one in a long term relationship Barbie situation?

minticecreamisjustok · 19/12/2022 17:00

I had a bf that would poo with the en-suite door open while I lay in bed talking to him.
The only time I've pooped in front of anybody is in labour.

Bepis · 19/12/2022 17:00

Me and DH are quite open about stuff (we fart in front of each other etc) but we would never poo in the same room as each other. I find that disgusting.

woodhill · 19/12/2022 17:01

Yuck no

Dh doesn't always shut the door though so I shout at him to do so

Just grim

girlmom21 · 19/12/2022 17:01

I'm fine with it. We'll often talk to each other while one of us is on the toilet - normally him.

IncompleteSenten · 19/12/2022 17:01

No.
Not everything is a spectator sport.

InFiveMins · 19/12/2022 17:02

No, it's disgusting.

PandaG · 19/12/2022 17:03

Yes,often. Frequently one of us is say in the shower while the other is on the loo. En suite opens straight off the bedroom, we'd rarely shut the bathroom door.

ShoveAHollySprigUpYourBum · 19/12/2022 17:03

Call me princess but I never want to see a romantic partner wiping their arse.

vodkaredbullgirl · 19/12/2022 17:03

Not this

DreamingOfAGreenChristmas · 19/12/2022 17:04

Yes, he is happy to do this.

I do not return the favour.

I have banned him from using the toilet while I am in the bathroom showering, teeth cleaning etc.

vodkaredbullgirl · 19/12/2022 17:04

💩again

blindfate · 19/12/2022 17:05

No, it's gross. DH will even take his poos downstairs instead of the en suite if I'm in the bedroom (and we have a big en suite with windows not a tiny cupboard one as hated by mumsnet) at my request, I don't want to hear the man I have sex with grunting and plopping his guts out. Similar to farts, I might be a bit precious but I'd prefer to keep a bit of mystery and sexiness to our relationship so don't want to smell my DH's guts, he respectfully does them elsewhere m

layladomino · 19/12/2022 17:05

Eugh no.

Of course if both of you don't mind, it's fine. But if one of you minds, then it should never happen. If one of you minds and the other one insists on doing it, then it's a cleaar sign of disrespect and making clear you don't care about their opinions and feelings (I've been there).

But, eugh no.
