Does your dp go for a poo in front of you

Help to settle a very light hearted discussion please. I've watched everything on Netflix and am this bored!

Been with dh for 5 years and we don't poo in front of each other. We were discussing ex relationships ( don't ask me how ) but the topic came up that my ex partner used to go for a poo in front of me ( never bothered me).

DH said it's weird and that he doesn't imagine many couples do this , I disagree and think it's probably quite common.

So do you/ your partner or has an ex ever done this ?

No way!

Theydoyaknow · 19/12/2022 18:00

No because we are not animals. Who in their right mind would go in and stand there talking to someone who was having a shite and then continue the conversation through the stench of shit while your partner wipes his hole?

Absolutely no way. Totally grosses me out. I mean fair enough if he had an upset stomach and there was no way he could hold it in for example I mean that’s life but to actively CHOOSE to take a dump in front of your partner - wrong and absolutely disgusting. I think it would completely put me off them sexually.

Littlebummybums · 19/12/2022 18:01

Yes. We do. Doors open policy.

housemaus · 19/12/2022 18:02

We don't make a habit of it, but we've both seen each other poo. Somehow we manage to stay sexually attracted to one another ;)

Yes. We do. Doors open policy.

Does that policy mean that neither of you is allowed have a closed door when shitting?

We are animals actually. And I've never seen my cats have a conversation whilst shitting... My DC however...

BowiesJumper · 19/12/2022 18:04

Noooo. Eww.

You do you Boo, sounds sexy as hell. Personally there would never be anything I needed badly enough in the bathroom that I would barge in on my husband having a shite. I's simply wait the few minutes until he was finished. Unless you have a shit fetish which is a whole other kettle of fish.

Bedazzled22 · 19/12/2022 18:13

Thats gross

Potato28 · 19/12/2022 18:13

Yes why not…
Asking MN is not a ‘General’ opinion though 😂

Ewww no. I don’t want to see/hear anyone pooping thanks., bowel movements do not have to be witnessed or shared to feel close to someone ffs.

FindingMeno · 19/12/2022 18:16

Eeeew

bloodywhitecat · 19/12/2022 18:16

Even when DH was bedbound and we had no carers for a few days he would never have done it. I used to help him to the commode then leave him to it, I would have to clean him afterwards but I know he hated it (even though he couldn't tell me as he'd lost his speech too). Once we had carers in place he would do everything in his power to wait until their visits which wasn't easy for a man with cholangiocarcinoma).

Bluebellsand · 19/12/2022 18:19

I don't even feel comfortable brushing my teeth in front of him.

I like the toilet door closed when I'm using it. Even when nobody else is home.

Bananaman123 · 19/12/2022 18:21

Try living with someone with bowel cancer and urine issues, peeing and pooping is discussed daily. Wiping my dp’s arse for him, looking at the colour of the poop etc. you pretty quickly get over the ‘ew that’s disgusting’ and just get comfortable sharing everything really

Lauralizzie · 19/12/2022 18:22

My ex used to poo, when I was in shower... I hated it, and there was no need since we had another toilet in the house.

My partner and me now have been together 8 years and have never talked about poo, lol. We don't even fart or burp infront of each other.

Badger1970 · 19/12/2022 18:22

Never. That's a step too far for me. In fact, he gets shouted at if he comes into the bathroom for a pee while I'm in the shower as his party trick is shaking his willy around and dripping pee everywhere. It's a miracle he's not under the patio thinking about it.

mydogisthebest · 19/12/2022 18:23

Never on purpose but I have IBS and a couple of times in our 42 years of marriage DH has been in the shower I have not been able to wait.

We don't have a problem with weeing in front of the other. Our bathroom door doesn't have a lock and neither of us close the door totally when weeing

OrlandointheWilderness · 19/12/2022 18:25

We don't. Tbh it wouldn't bother me if he needed too while I was in the bathroom for any reason but we just don't.

Yep! This. Not bothered by it at all. We don’t make a habit of it, but in extremis we use the loo while the other person is in the shower etc. We have a loo brush as well so we’re MN pariahs from the off.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 19/12/2022 18:28

No, 35 years together.

This is a completely different situation and you sound very caring. I'm sorry to hear they have cancer ☹️.
