He smells! I don't know what it is, but it's almost like mould. He showers once a day and twice if he's been at work. When I've spent a few days with him his hygiene is impeccable. I'm not sure if it's because he eats a lot of garlic, has a mould problem, or leaves his hair wet etc, but I don't think I can do it. Wtf do I do? I can't dump someone I Really like and could actually see myself settling down with, who my son likes, because he smells? Do I tell him? Ffs this is so daft!

He sounds really nice, I'm sure you can work something out. It'll just be how he dries or stores his clothes

I have friends who smell; they live in a damp cottage and make a virtue out of using the smallest amount of detergent possible, and their clothes smell of musty flannels! I mentioned it once and they did use more soap for a bit, but they are back to their old ways. Smelly old pair.

useful idea, i have flu not covid and sense of smell has been affected so that everything smells of manure

There are some studies on human smell and attraction. Maybe you have really similar genes and that is nature's way of putting you off?

I think he might overpack the washing machine. I had a (lovely) flat mate who did that and his clothes were horribly musty.

I think I’d just say - this is embarrassing, but while you smell lovely, you clothes are really musty - do you think it’s damp in the flat, or does the washing machine need a wash out. And once he does that introduce the not over packing the machine thing.

He might get the hump and dump. But if he does, he’s not the man for you long term.

Washing machine intervention?
