Is my husband lying to me about photo found on his phone?

So, I recently came across an image taken from the Internet on my husband's old phone, that he said he only keeps for the alarm, and let's say it was an intimate image of a woman. I then also found the thumbnail of a deleted screenshot of a different naked woman on the old phone. I called him on it and after telling him I was going to check his Google account Internet hisyory, he confessed he looked at these sorts of images daily, and had been doing so for a long time. It took me by surprise as he always said he hated this kind of stuff. My issue now is that a few years ago I found a picture taken from social media of my sisters teenage daughter and her friend standing in their bikinis by a pool, saved on his phone. He told me back then that it must be the 'dodgy' photo editing app he'd installed as he never saved that photo to his phone, and he seemed genuinely perplexed as to how it got there. Am I being an idiot in still believing him or could this genuinely be the truth? I know it sounds bad, but he did have a photo app he was always complaining about before I found that image, and there were some other odd and random images in the app that he said he couldn't understand how on earth they got there? My paranoia is taking over now and I don't feel I can trust him?!? Advice??

He’s lying and what he is doing is utterly grim. So sorry OP.

The porn would give me the ick but I’ve not got an issue with porn as such, perving on his own teenage niece and saving her image like that would nauseate me so much I’d be out. I couldn’t get past that.

She believed an app saved a random photo from someone else's social media page that happened to be of a couple of teenage girls in bikinis? I don't think she genuinely believed that, but she may have chosen to try and force herself to. If I was her sister or niece I would feel disgusted by him. I don't understand how someone could believe that particular picture would be at random automatically saved by a computer and not manually... that's why I'm wondering if it's sort of wilful ignorance / denial of reality rather than genuine belief.

Her poor niece being around him for a couple of years since then, too. Disgusting bloke.

velvetvixen · 13/01/2022 22:30

I don't think anyone would want to believe their husband was perving on their teen niece, so straws would be firmly grasped.

Hope OP can now come to terms with the truth.

Hes cleay lying. Bit also I think your sister is in the wrong for uploading bikini pictures onto the Internet, there's all sorts of pervs out there and that's basically handing it to them on a plate

RobotValkyrie · 13/01/2022 23:04

Gross. How can you stay with a man who just sees women as meat to be consumed?
He clearly has no respect for them, or for you.

Ironingtsunami · 13/01/2022 23:04

Id agree with the other posters about it being likely he's saved pictures to wank to, and if that includes teenage children of friends, that's horrible.

IF there had been a range of odd pictures I would have suggested to check WhatsApp - WhatsApp has an annoying habit of downloading pictures which then go into your photo gallery - I've turned the option off on my phone but it keeps resetting, so anyone looking in my photos would see odd memes and pictures of friends kids they've sent me at Xmas etc. But, they would be a mishmash. The fact that his was a bikini pic suggests he's specifically saved that one, it's too coincidental.

Luckingfovely · 13/01/2022 23:29

It's not possible that an app miraculously saved that image to his phone.

He's lying to you.

And he's perving on young relations - let alone the the porn photos, which could be forgiven if you're into that / okay with him doing it, I (just about) guess.

Lying to you and perving on young family members, however?

I'm struggling to find words for how bad the perving is. That together with the lying and gaslighting and trying to play you for a fool?

Please wise up and get him away from you and your family as quickly as possible. It's actually making me feel a bit sick Confused

BootySOS · 13/01/2022 23:35

No, the app didn't save a picture from your sister's Facebook page. Your husband did.
And he lied about it and was convincing because he IS a convincing liar.
You said you had believed he wasn't in to looking at pictures of naked ladies, well he lied. He is a bullshitter.

BootySOS · 13/01/2022 23:36

And, you might want to look further in to this phone. Are they from 'the internet' or are they pics sent to him directly from a hook up on a chat site.

Closetbeanmuncher · 13/01/2022 23:42

Seems even your teenage relative and her friends aren't safe from being used as your mucky husband's wank fodder.

Revolting.

aldilemonade · 13/01/2022 23:48

He is disgusting
How would you feel if that was your daughter and her friends picture and your Bil was wanking over it.
Honestly it would be over for me.
Of all the pictures to be saved it had to be one with your niece and her friend in a bikini.
A bit weird that isn't it

VioletLemon · 13/01/2022 23:54

Unfortunately for you he is probably lying. I don't think you will be able to forget the connotations of him using photos of your neices tbh. What else has he got on his phone. You deserve to be happy and you'll never relax on a beach again with teens around. Get rid, sorry.

Geppili · 14/01/2022 00:29

He is lying. He is a creep. Its his wank bank.

MsDogLady · 14/01/2022 00:32

Your H clearly lied about hating porn and the objectification of women.

He added your niece and her friend to his ‘collection’ so he could fantasize/perve over them. Knowing that he’s had that secret about your unsuspecting niece when in her presence is sickening.

Of course he pretended to be “genuinely perplexed” about the photo. What he did was horrifying.

I couldn’t stomach another 5 minutes of him.

Aquamarine1029 · 14/01/2022 00:36

Your husband must think you're very stupid.

NotVictorianHonestly · 14/01/2022 00:46

It does sound odd. The only thing that's giving me a tiny bit of doubt is that apps can sometimes save things to your phone's gallery. Until I sorted the settings,, photos sent to me on WhatsApp,, including on group chats, were appearing in my Samsung's inbuilt photo gallery. So random photos of people's kids from local mum groups were showimg in my gallery and all sorts. No idea how that would happen with Facebook though. It's never done that before.

Sunnytwobridges · 14/01/2022 01:10

Pics of your teenaged niece on his phone. God, So many men are so vile. I don’t know how you stayed with him after that.

Shehasadiamondinthesky · 14/01/2022 01:13

Of course he's lying my phone is completely devoid of intimate pics of 17 year old boys.
People who lie also assume you are stupid which is yet another insult.

Obsidiansphere · 14/01/2022 01:20

Fucking hell! Come on?

Rubyyyy · 14/01/2022 01:23

Photos don’t just leap off Facebook the only way images end up in camera roll is if it’s either sent via text or WhatsApp or if he’s saved them himself.

Gross.
