How much younger is much..?

OK. So I met a man about 3 or 4 years ago. We had a lot of chemistry. Nothing happened but we were clearly very attracted to each other.

Anyway, circumstances happened, we lost contact and then covid hit and I haven't seen him for a couple of years.

I bumped into him yesterday - he was working so we couldn't really chat but he messaged me in the evening to say it had been a really nice surprise. We've exchanged a few messages back and forth and it's clear we both still find each other attractive.

I'm not interested in a relationship, i wouldn't be a serious prospect for him anyway.

Would a summer fling - just a bit of fun - be a ridiculous idea?

I've just turned 46, he's 25.

@Redland12

I’m 62 and seeing a 25 year old, I don’t look or act anywhere near a 62 year old. It’s just for fun. The sex is great, I also have a 35 year old as a FWB’s. We are adults and both consenting. Go for it and enjoy, be upfront and tell him it’s just fun. He won’t care at all, he’ll be up for it. I’m having the time of my life 😈
I love your attitude! But tell me, are you ever paranoid about your 62 year old body compared to their 25 & 35 year old bodies and compared to 25-35 year old women's bodies? Do they say nice things about you? I wish I was as cool as you seem to be about ageing.
Fairyliz · 01/05/2021 20:26

No I find it disturbing and my 25 year old Dd thinks the idea of dating a 46 year old ‘gross’ as well.
Wouldn’t you think he was doing it for a bet?

Dogfan · 01/05/2021 20:29

Go for it. I don't think a relationship with someone that age will necessarily give you what you want but no harm in a bit of fun.
The only thing I would say is make sure you stay safe. I'm 36 and a 26 year old chatted me up recently and I just think he must want my money! He said he could just be a bit of fun for me but I'm clearly too cynical!

That's neither very nice, nor remotely likely to be true. Unless the bet was 'I bet she wouldn't look at you mate' I can't believe that its passed you by how much a lot of young men like older women. Or maybe it's just to try to make the OP feel bad.
Redland12 · 01/05/2021 21:00

Honeybuns007. Not at all. I exercise 2 hours a day and I am in fantastic shape. I have an hourglass figure and extremely toned. I look nowhere near 62 in fact 63 in June. I ooze confidence which they love. I look between 45/50. Thank you mother!!!! I have her genes. They are not interested in women their own age. They say, crap in bed, don’t know what they want. Always looking at their phone, obsessed with Instagram and no conversation. It’s absolutely fantastic, I can’t recommend it enough.

Redland12 · 01/05/2021 21:02

Fairyliz, I’ve been seeing my couple of FWB’s for a year, so no not a bet at all, they are very respectful and wonderful guys.

HowMuchYoungerIsTooMuch · 01/05/2021 23:32

If he wanted a 25 year old, he could have one. But he finds the drama a bit much.

He's not doing it for a bet 🤣 and if he were, well, he got hard just being near me, we watched films and chatted about life and stuff and we had sex 4 times in 24 hours, so... 🤷🏻‍♀️

He was attentive, sweet, affectionate, considerate and checked for consent often - not things I've found in older men recently.

Me too, my DH is seven, well almost 8 I suppose, years younger.
Previously had only been with men over a decade older. Wouldn't touch an older man with a barge pole under any circumstances ever again.

OP, do what you want. He's an adult and so are you. So what if his mum may be your age? You aren't likely to get an introduction now, are you? Grin[/quote]
Same! We don't even notice the age difference now and been together 9 years

musicalfrog · 02/05/2021 06:41

There are clearly some jealous posters on this thread - why else would anyone be so unkind?

I'm 36 soon and married/house/child with a 26 year old.

It's not 'weird' ... do it, it'll be fun.

Anotherlovelybitofsquirrel · 02/05/2021 06:59

I think it's a bit grim. You could be his mother as has been said. Funny how when this is raised the other way, I'm a 46 year older man and I want to shag a 25 year old woman, it's a different story...

And if she was the same age she could be his sister. But she's neither, so I really don't see the point of people keep repeating this. Anyone with a rudimentary knowledge of arithmetic could work it out, and these sly little links to inscest are actually extremely offensive. And no, its not really the same if the genders are reversed. Men traditionally hold the greater power. Older men arguably more so, so the potential for exploitation is higher. Not that I think that's automatically the case in a man older relationship of course, but more likely than when the women is older.
ginandvomit · 02/05/2021 08:52

As long as you're both consenting adults why not? Have a bit of fun! I agree a long term relationship would be much more fraught but if there's a connection between you and you're not hurting anyone else (including yourself) a summer fling could be fab.

Cherrytree1621 · 02/05/2021 08:57

It's a no from me 🤮

Totally.. Jealous of grannies dating kids.... Of course they are.

And if she was the same age she could be his sister.

True but the incest isn't a thought that crossed my mind personally. If it was a few years earlier she'd be a paedophile.... Huge difference. I don't think for anyone it's about incest. The thought of dating someone my kids age is cringe worthy. I brought him up he's still a kid to me even though an adult in the eyes of the law. But each to their own, just don't go near my kids while your having your fun fling....
The shamlessness of it is horrendous. I'd LOVE to see all the posters for it and egging you on have it happen to their kids... Won't be so fun and harmless but they'll say anything on the net.

Go on report this post because home truths are offensive... Just like the gutless person who reported the truth above... And you people are adults...wtf if you were you'd accept criticism without having to dob so I can see why some of you date kids... You still are one.

MadagascanSociety · 02/05/2021 09:12

And mods why delete comments that aren't encouraging of this gross behaviour?! Like seriously your guidelines say all must agree even if it's morally wrong?! Shameful

MadagascanSociety · 02/05/2021 09:12

Truth hurts when you're old....so it seems.

Nandakanda · 02/05/2021 11:00

Sounds great. Good for you - enjoy it. If it works for the two people involved, fine.

I would urge you to be mindful of the feelings of your own DC(s?). Kids tend to regard their parents as special and may react badly to such a scenario. I once knew a lad whose mum was being shagged by one of his peers, and it was excruciating for him.

Butwasitherdriveway · 02/05/2021 11:01

DD is obviously immature then.

And no , most normal people don't think like that.

5128gap · 02/05/2021 11:06

I think the gratuitous use of the words 'grannies' and 'old' to insult older women, indicates a level of hatred of aging that is being projected onto other people, which I find sad.
Each to their own indeed, but to attack other people's choices so vehemently when they don't impact oneself seems an unnecessarily strong reaction.

HowMuchYoungerIsTooMuch · 02/05/2021 11:12

Well I didn't report the message.

The person saying if he were 10 years younger younger it would be a crime. Yes it would. Because he'd be a child, but he isn't. If i went into a shop and stole something I'd be a thief. But I haven't, so I'm not.

I spoke to another friend about it last night. He reminded me of a couple of his friends. She's in her 70s and he's in his 50s. They got together at similar ages and have been together now for 30 years. The age gap is 22 years.

The thought of dating someone my kids age is cringe worthy. I brought him up he's still a kid to me even though an adult in the eyes of the law

But he isn't my son and I'm not his mother Confused

I would urge you to be mindful of the feelings of your own DC(s?)

My children wouldn't know. I've always kept my dating life separate.

I could technically be my husband's mum but so fucking what? If you're attracted to each other and just want a fling then go for it. You're both adults.
