DP cross there's no food

droopyears · 06/10/2020 19:24

My DP of 4 years has just had a go at me because there is no food in the house. He doesn't actually live with me.
He knows I do my food shopping on a Wednesday so am usually pretty low on a Tuesday.
He seemed really cross that there wasn't a huge menu of snacks available Confused
I just wanted to vent really

Good for you OP.
He honestly thought he could come over again, empty handed, eat dinner, use your house and be a prick to your child.

Could he be more awful.
He couldn't even pretend for 15 minutes.

I think your children will miss him less than you think.

While horrible for your son, in a way it is good that you got to see his true character, now that you had started to enforce boundaries. Had he tried to smooth things over, it all might have continued with him gradually taking advantage again. However, his selfish, greedy, immature personality has suddenly become glaringly obvious. I am sorry but so relieved for you. Good luck going forward. You can sort out thos eminor details, like his stuff. But and I now, it's been mentioned a fair few times, do change your locks. He's getting more unpleasant, so be prepared.

AnneLovesGilbert · 12/10/2020 19:57

Box up his crap, leave it outside his mum’s. Change the locks. Apologise to your sons. Stay single for a while.

HappyHoppyHippo · 12/10/2020 19:59

He acts like a moody teen Confused
I hope you're ok OP.

SeasonallySnowyPeasant · 12/10/2020 20:10

Put all his stuff in bin bags, drop it outside his mum's house, ring the doorbell and leave. Change the locks. Block his number. Job done.

I'm sorry you and your DC had this thoroughly crap experience OP Flowers

EvilPea · 12/10/2020 20:11

He could have stayed at home and played on his own without interruption.

Why would he bring it over if he wasn’t going to play with them?

Meknow · 12/10/2020 20:14

What a giant overgrown idiot storming out because he wanted to ignore your DC asking him to play game with him and then in his mind you had the cheek to try and force him to share!!!
OP don't forget those words he said I don't give a shit that was the mask slipping and him revealing his true self. He doesn't give a shit.

Imagine going to someone else's house to eat their food ignore their kids use their electricity you'd really have to not give a shit!!!

GiantKitten · 12/10/2020 20:21

Sorry, OP Flowers

Of course it’s good for you (& your kids), really, that he’s shown his true colours so clearly and so soon after last week.

But still rotten for you to have to face up to and deal with Sad

excelledyourself · 12/10/2020 20:23

@EvilPea

He could have stayed at home and played on his own without interruption.

Why would he bring it over if he wasn’t going to play with them?

Because if he stayed home, how would he get fed?
Dontbeme · 12/10/2020 20:25

I would bet good money his mum told him no more screen time or he would have his devices removed for being mardy, he is a great big sulking teenager after all. You are well rid OP, you and your DC deserve better.

Welshgal85 · 12/10/2020 20:27

Sorry this has happened OP. I agree with others, he sounds very childish and it was so out of order the way he was with your DP. He is supposed to be the adult but sounds more like another kid!

I think he’s got used to having things easy!

OnCandyStripeLegs · 12/10/2020 20:28

This!! And then Droopy told him to play nicely. He must be seething.

TeamLannister · 12/10/2020 20:29

Jesus, he's an even bigger wanker than I thought!

MotherofTerriers · 12/10/2020 20:30

I'm sorry OP. At least its a clear cut decision for you, which is horrible now but saves you worrying about what you should do.
He sounds horrible, entitled selfish and horrible. Your poor DC

droopyears · 12/10/2020 20:30

I do know that his Mum was in an awful mood this weekend and at one point told him that he needed to move out Hmm

OP posts:
JamieLeeCurtains · 12/10/2020 20:32

He's probably sat in a McDonald's with a big meal, sulking that he had to pay for it, stealing extra paper napkins.

greyinganddecaying · 12/10/2020 20:34

She's probably had enough if his childish ways too. Seriously OP, you don't need such a man child.

excelledyourself · 12/10/2020 20:35

Did he tell you that, OP?

SBTLove · 12/10/2020 20:35

@JamieLeeCurtains
🤣🤣🤣
Not to mention some straws that will flop on him 🤣🤣

strawberrysalsa · 12/10/2020 20:36

Well if he was planning moving into your house his 'charm' offensive was spectacularly ineffective! Grin

ComicePear · 12/10/2020 20:36

Sounds like you and his mum are both equally fed up with his selfish, thoughtless behaviour. He probably expects her to look after him and pay for the pleasure, as well as you.

strawberrysalsa · 12/10/2020 20:37

Sorry you're having to deal with the fall out and finding out just was a selfish are he is....worth knowing he long term but you need to be kind to yourself now.

Itisbetter · 12/10/2020 20:40

Sounds like you’ve opened your eyes just in the nick of time. Pack everything up neatly and drop it round in the morning. Least said soonest mended.Brew

Whether his mother told you that or he did, don't get sucked in. You'll regret it; and your boys will really regret it.
Defenbaker · 12/10/2020 20:43

It sounds like you and his mother have both had enough of his selfish ways. He's only got himself to blame. Please don't waste any time feeling sorry for him, it's just his pride that's hurt right now (along with his bank balance).

Well done for starting the process of detaching this nasty man-leach from your life.
