Going to check the content of my Bumble app lol.

singlemum81 · 16/05/2020 12:55

@JoysOfString it's the dog pics where the bloke is practically snogging the dog. No word of a lie

For me it would have to be all of the above and adding in massive ear gauges and skull tattoos.

I’m sure there are lots lovely men with hearts of gold who have ear gauges and I hope they find love with someone who likes their flappy holey ear lobes or skull tattoos.

Horseshoe5 · 16/05/2020 13:13

@Whatabambam
You made me burst out laughing 😁

MikeUniformMike · 16/05/2020 14:08

Is 1488 what I think it is? I'd definitely avoid.

RantyAnty · 16/05/2020 14:39

chav/bogan types
bald with big hobo beards and gauged ears
not smiling
pics with aggressive dog breed = small pee pee
Ugh I can't even add more.
Let's just say xy chromosomes

LilMissRe · 16/05/2020 15:17

oh the pineapple on pizza! How did this become a thing?

I don't like when they say they want someone who "don't take life too serious"

Or when they say " why bother, does anyone even read this?"

YES I DO, I read every word and line, and in-between and probably judge your spelling and grammar
Look like many women do too.

Whoever is enabling their crap OLD behaviour needs to stop- we need to raise the bar!

Lampan · 16/05/2020 15:40

@LilMissRe YES!! How on earth did I forget ‘don’t take life too serious’? Erm, surely life should be taken seriously?
I also read every profile, even the ones with bad photos - it’s a source of entertainment if nothing else!
I think the pineapple in pizza thing is meant to be a talking point - I saw it a lot on apps like Hinge where one of the questions is about a controversial opinion or something. Who even cares if they like pineapple on pizza, it’s hardly make-or-break.
Another one I saw too often on Hinge was guys saying how much they wanted to visit Japan - well go to Japan then! Literally dozens and dozens of profiles said this 🥱

singlemum81 · 16/05/2020 15:43

Why so many bald men 😫😫😫😫

VanGoghsDog · 16/05/2020 15:45

All of the above, plus anyone who refers to any women as "princesses" etc.

To be fair, people can't help being short, bald or old. So I don't hold that against them.

I once told a guy he was not my type due to his tattoos. He says "lol I've only got five".
I said it's not the number, it's the subject matter.

One was a nude woman with pneumatic tits lying in one of those old fashioned champagne boats, and underneath it said "mum".

Another had a bulldog and union jack.
Totally not going to be my type of person.

singlemum81 · 16/05/2020 15:48

Forgot about the ones want to 'a princess'. Vom 🤢

What's 1488?

I haven't been OLD in a couple of years but a big yes to a lot of these especially Sapiosexual. I take that to mean they're patronising and I assume anyone complaining about time wasters is advertising that other women have decided to go nowhere near them after meeting/a few messages. And anyone who doesn't bother filling in their profile.

I do have to ask though. What are Stupid, stereotypical 'lesbian poses'? I genuinely have no idea.

JustTurtlesAllTheWayDown · 16/05/2020 16:43

What's 1488?
Oh, just googled. Apparently it's a white supremacy thing!.
I guess at least they advertise it so we know to give them a wiiiiiide berth?

bueno70 · 16/05/2020 16:45

Men wearing all sorts of hats usually means they are bald. No need to hide it lol

famousforwrongreason · 16/05/2020 16:47

I do have to ask though. What are Stupid, stereotypical 'lesbian poses'? I genuinely have no idea,

Me too!

I know a guy who married a Japanese woman, he said he prefers Japanese women as 'they're more submissive'.
I wonder if this is a myth which is attracting the guys who say they want to go to Japan?
I also can't stand guys on paid sites who can only send 'winks' or 'smiles'. It's like sci-fi, they're trapped in matter / ectoplasm flailing around wordlessly, trying to be heard and seen but destined to remain silent and alone forever.

VanGoghsDog · 16/05/2020 16:56

To be fair, dp is bald, he wears a hat because his head gets cold or sunburned. Consequently, most of his photos are of him in a hat. He's not trying to hide anything.

famousforwrongreason · 16/05/2020 17:04

I don't mind baldness, it can be sexy af. My ex was a complete arsehole but I found his baldness hot. I saw pictures of him prior to hairloss and he was nowhere near as sexy. He also told me that growing a beard has made him 100% more attractive to women and he's never going to shave it off now. He was hot. He attracted women everywhere we went but again, like the hair, when I saw his pre beard pics he wasn't hot at all. Not one bit.
I've noticed when I bump into old schoolmates, most of the guys are bald or balding, seems to hit a lot of them at mid thirties and beyond.
The women seem to have aged a lot better.
Partly why its irritating that so many guys my age are not interested in women my age.
My exh said that women his own age 'look like grannies' and my recent ex bf was deceiving me with several women at least ten years younger than us and some twenty odd years younger
Quite a blow to my ego.

singlemum81 · 16/05/2020 20:10

Found a profile today where he said he's looking for a woman to shave regularly. Must be where we're going wrong

OP posts:
singlemum81 · 16/05/2020 20:12

@famousforwrongreason your ex sounds like an absolute arsehole

OP posts:
VimtoCordial · 16/05/2020 20:57

All of these had me nodding my head and laughing!

For me the worst is where they have a big old rant about what they don't want and end it with "no timewasters". The more moronic say they still have their own teeth. FGS you're in your fifties, not your nineties. I'd be a bit concerned if a 50 year old guy had no teeth. They're obviously embarrassed about being on OLD which is a huge turn off.

I haven't been on OLD for years, too depressing, but I'll always remember the guy who was five years older than me saying he wanted to meet a nice girl and have a family. Age range was from mid twenties to 38.

user1471565182 · 16/05/2020 21:30

14 is a newer bit that either refers to mein kampf or the klan depending on who you ask, 88 is HH in simple code (Heil Hitler). You used to just see them using 88.

HalfDutchGirl · 16/05/2020 21:33

@singlemum81 oh yes, totally agree, why all the xxxx at the end of a first message??
@Lampan - loving your list!

Forgot to add the pics that are put on with just groups of men, are we supposed to pick the best looking one and assume that’s him??

Read a profile today of someone, looked nice until I got to the bottom when he expressed his love of literature, mostly exotic books, hmmm not sure I’d class that as literature and then he ended it up with only wishing to talk to those woman size 6 - 10 (UK size). Ok, that would be another swipe left then!!

HalfDutchGirl · 16/05/2020 21:36

So, in no way wishing to hijack your brilliant thread @singlemum81 , I wonder what is the ideal OLD profile?

singlemum81 · 16/05/2020 21:37

@HalfDutchGirl the pages of his erotic books are probably stuck together

OP posts:
singlemum81 · 16/05/2020 21:40

For me a smiley face, not all selfies...a little something about himself, no boasting or any of the BS already mentioned
