What are the chances this is innocent? I was just going through my laundry and found a pair of white knickers that are definitely not mine.

No big problems in our relationship, he would like sex more often than me but when we do have it it’s very loving. He isn’t acting any differently and has always been very loyal.

Wwyd?

M&S
I have the big up to the waist version in nude Blush
I'll get my coat then.

YouMaySayImADreamer · 18/06/2019 22:04

Have you bought any second hand clothing lately that they might have been tucked inside?

Have you changed bedding lately? I sometimes find long lost odd socks etc inside duvet covers that have got trapped in the washing process

FenellaMaxwell · 18/06/2019 22:04

We had mystery knickers. DH put them away in the drawer thinking they were mine, and when I asked him he said they’d been on the ground in the garden and he thought they were mine that had fallen off the washing line. Turns out the house behind ours has a knicker thief cat - we’ve since had several more pairs, and a pair of tights. We post them back through their letterbox. Grin

YouMaySayImADreamer · 18/06/2019 22:06

I know they're not yours, but maybe from when a guest stayed a long time ago (the bedding suggestion)

booboo24 · 18/06/2019 22:10

I've had stray knickers end up more than once in my house, and I don't live with my partner!!! I do have a teenage daughter so I usually start with her and if not we normally just assume it's a friend of hers but that's left them behind after a sleepover!

WhiteLightTrainWreck · 18/06/2019 22:11

I'm starting to wonder if this is a very convoluted sales pitch from M&S to get us all to buy more of their knickers with the amount of posters saying they are from M&S 😂

RickOShay · 18/06/2019 22:14

They are from m and s.
I also have them Grin
Very nice they are too.

TheFormidableMrsC · 18/06/2019 22:17

A few years after my divorce, I was hanging out a white wash when I happened across a pair of men's Nike sports socks. Given I ensured that every single item belonging to the cheating asshole went with him (or to the tip), I could not explain how these socks came to be in my washing machine. I never got to the bottom of it. They definitely weren't my ex-h's and there was absolutely no reason for them to have been in my house at all, let alone my washing machine. Will forever remain a mystery! I hope it's innocent OP, I get how you must be feeling.

saraclara · 18/06/2019 22:18

I wouldn’t feel good about myself putting those on in the morning though. It’s a case of self esteem

Seriously, most of the 'definitely sexy' knickers I see around look really uncomfortable, and they're made of artificial fabric, so have got to be a bit sweaty. I pretty much only wear cotton for comfort and breathability down there. So lowrise cotton pants with a bit of lace are perfect.

EL8888 · 18/06/2019 22:19

@WhiteLightTrainWreck quite possibly! A lot of us agree to them being from M&S...

ChippyPickledEggs · 18/06/2019 22:21

I found a bra that wasn't mine under the coffee table in the living room once. It had all these cut aways and straps - looked like bondage gear. I was all WTF? Turned out to belong to my sons girlfriend. She was absolutely mortified and kept going on about how an aunt had bought it for her and she hated it but felt she should wear it out of politeness. Ok. Fucking hilarious Grin

ChippyPickledEggs · 18/06/2019 22:22

As though your aunt knows whether or not you're wearing it, love.

ChiaraRimini · 18/06/2019 22:24

Confusedabout the sexiness or not of the pants.
I only ever wear plain cotton, I hate scratchy lace and thongs.
I have never had a complaint from a man about my underwear as in my experience they don't notice what they look like they just want to remove them ASAP!

HappyRoots · 18/06/2019 22:25

My neighbours' washing often blows over our fence. Our dog brought a pair of their knickers in the house once (and chewed them!). Do your neighbours hang washing outside? Have you been to a launderette at all where something might have got in with your stuff by accident? Any female relatives or friends staying over at all? Sorry if all this has been mentioned - I've not read the full thread.

someoneontheinterweb · 18/06/2019 22:27

Have you ever had anyone else stay over at the house? We sometimes find clothes that have ended up behind furniture etc, and one of us puts it in the wash basket, and then the other comes to wash it and wonders where it came from. Could have been hanging around for months hidden behind something. Husband was looking for the tv remote down the side of the settee yesterday and found a hoody(!) had ended up inside our recliner. We’re pretty sure it belongs to a friend who stayed last month. These knickers could have been hanging around for ages, one of the kids puts them in the wash basket, and now you have mystery knickers.

My first thought wouldn’t be affair, but it would annoy me not knowing.

Gwenhwyfar · 18/06/2019 22:28

"Those are the most unsexy knickers ever."

Really? They have a lace trim. I didn't think they were the most sexy, but I wouldn't have said the complete opposite either.

Hecateh · 18/06/2019 22:30

I rarely find a pair of socks - even when I put a pair in the wash Grin

EmmaGrundyForPM · 18/06/2019 22:32

I once had a mystery pair of Jeans turn up in my wardrobe. They were a size 8 and I'm definitely not.
I quizzed ds' then girlfriend as she was a size 8 but she denied all knowledge. I didn't ask DH as he would never have an affair. I couldn't work out where they came from. Until I realised they were an American brand and the "size 8" were in fact a size 12 and actually mine......

RandallandHopkirkReborn · 18/06/2019 22:34

This is plain silly. Fancy and frankly uncomfortable underwear is patriarchal shit TBH. A woman who wears those knickers may be completely comfortable and confident in who she is, inside and out, and doesn't need to define herself by her underwear.

I couldn’t agree more.

How bloody ridiculous is it that women feel their confidence or sexual identity is linked to frilly undies. Another fucking slow clap for men. Do men have ANY sort of underwear that’s deemed to be sexy? No. Because it’s a ridiculous notion. The material covering your genitals should be comfortable and hygienic for both sexes. Same as what is on your feet should be practical for the task at hand eg walking. High heels, air restricting nylon lace ‘sexy’ thrush inducing ‘panties’ can just fuck off.

OP those knickers just look like regular knickers which tells you absolutely nothing. If you are confident your dh is telling the truth then it might just be one of those mysteries. Maybe one of your little dc grabbed them from a radiator at a friend’s house and stuffed them in the buggy or a changing bag? My dd came home with a few things from other people’s houses!

Just write it off as one of life’s little mysteries.

Mrsmadevans · 18/06/2019 22:37

Are they duster knickers ? I use my old ones for this and chuck them in the washer when they get dirty .

TheFormidableMrsC · 18/06/2019 22:40

@Hecateh I KNOW! 100% same here. The kids are always scrambling round for matching socks, as am I. So bloody weird. I really can't explain it!

Heh. I just remembered that I found a pair of boxers in my house last year. I've been widowed for seven years and no relationship since, and they definitely weren't my late husband's. The last time I had friends to stay (including a male) was probably two years before that. They can only have been that person's, but where had they been in the two years prior to me coming across them?

BitOfFun · 18/06/2019 22:43

I do think there's an innocent explanation, from what you describe of your husband's reaction. Unfortunately, you may never find out what it is!

Gwenhwyfar · 18/06/2019 22:44

"Do men have ANY sort of underwear that’s deemed to be sexy? "

I think they do and I think it might be a thing for some gay men.
