Suspicious texts

I have found some suspicious texts on an iPad linked to DH's phone. Just called the number (withholding mine) and it went through to voicemail.

Texts from DH were asking 'when are you working next?'

The reply is addressing DH by a wrong (made up?) name saying 'I'm in flat d'. There are later texts arranging to meet for lunch / coffee.

It sounds like he's been texting a Dec worker. I'm feeling sick & shaky.

What should I do- confront him or wait?

We have been married 13 years and have one DS.

Try to get hold of bank statements, credit cards see if he is on one of these hookup sites or spending on hotels, restaurants or people you dont know about

Wannabeyorkshirelass · 17/05/2019 23:27

Inheritance isn't ring fenced. If you're married it's a martial asset I'm afraid, just as the house would be.

I'd be suspicious about those texts too.

Rachelle11 · 17/05/2019 23:27

He left you and came back when you got money?? Red flag, red flag, red flag...

Mymessymind · 17/05/2019 23:27

I assumed lunch/coffee was code too.

LittleWing80 · 17/05/2019 23:28

Wouldnt pay personal money in the marital home, he’d get half

Miniloso · 17/05/2019 23:28

Check the App Store on iPad for apps purchased. Can you check his email from
iPad?

MrsSeanBakedBean · 17/05/2019 23:28

Little wing - we have separate bank accounts so I have no way of checking statements etc. He does all his banking online so there are no paper statements to check.

OP posts:
MrsSeanBakedBean · 17/05/2019 23:30

Miniloso- there is no App Store icon in the iPad, only iTunes.

If you start to input the suspect phone number into FaceTime does a name come up?

MrsSeanBakedBean · 17/05/2019 23:30

And no there is no email account set up on the iPad.

MrsSeanBakedBean · 17/05/2019 23:31

Miniloso, just tried that on FaceTime and nothing comes up when number typed in.

Check fab swingers for his profile, he'll be on there (they all are)...

Miniloso · 17/05/2019 23:36

If you go into settings on iPad can you see any apps there that may have been downloaded? Do you know the password for the Apple ID? You can check apps that way...

Sorry if I'm repeating something someone-else has said. Just consider....

If you confront him then he won't change what he does he'll just make sure he's more careful

If he's seeing a Sex worker and discussing coffee/tea/lunch they possibly equate to different sex acts....he's not really meeting a sex worker for a slice of cake!!

Bide your time, sit back and watch (whilst not having sex with him....eeewww!!) ...you'll find the truth x

Miniloso · 17/05/2019 23:39

Yes my ex was on Fab Swingers. I found his profile. Fake name, age etc.

SunniDay · 17/05/2019 23:40

Hi,
I'm not exactly sure how it works but I know that sometimes text messages and missed calls came up on one of our ipads when they were on my husbands phone - I think it might be a setting when you all use the same family iTunes account. If this is the case hubby may never have used the ipad at all and be completely unaware of evidence on it. This would allow you to keep monitoring the communications on the ipad while he is making them on his phone for example. They probably delete when he deletes them off is phone.

You may have "find my iPhone" installed on all your devices and if so you could use this if you want to see where hubby is geographically at any point. There is a setting that can make the device emit a beep and may need to look into it if you don't want it to beep and alert him that you are checking.

Cannyhandleit · 17/05/2019 23:43

Where I used to work we had quite a few people who's nicknames were just regular names Alex was Alan, David was Keith, etc. There really could be a very innocent explanation!

ReganSomerset · 17/05/2019 23:44

If you have a family member you really trust, could you 'gift' them the inheritance temporarily and get it back when the divorce is final?

RomanyQueen1 · 17/05/2019 23:44

Drug dealing?

2019user44 · 17/05/2019 23:46

Inheritance can be ring fenced OP if kept completely separate. It is not as simple as you keeping it all but nevertheless do NOT use to phone pay off the mortgage else it will definitely become a Matrimonial asset. I am a family lawyer.

SunniDay · 17/05/2019 23:46

Screenshot messages that you might want evidence of in case they do disappear from the ipad when he deletes them from his phone.

Miniloso · 17/05/2019 23:47

Are contacts on the iPad?

Yellowshirt · 17/05/2019 23:48

Find the exact make and model of your tablet/computer and YouTube will tell you how to recover deleted history.
Most people are not clever enough to delete browser history though so just check that asap before he finds out your on to him.
Also fake your phone being broken and get him to unlock his for you immediately because you need to make an urgent phone call

LittleWing80 · 17/05/2019 23:50

Court can order to track the movement and order to cancel the transfer if they think it’s ‘deceitful’. If you do it, do it a bit at the time, not in cash

MrsSeanBakedBean · 17/05/2019 23:51

There are no contacts on the iPad. Even messages to / from ms just show my number, no name. I suspect he has no idea the messages are even on this iPad.

Good idea to 'gift' the inheritance to a trusted family member.
