Dating thread rules:

  1. The first rule about the dating thread is you don't talk about it with people you're dating.
  2. Develop a thick skin.
  3. Do not invest emotionally too soon.
  4. It's all BS until it actually happens.
  5. Trust your gut instinct.
  6. People vanishing, lying & being generally weird is not your fault.
  7. You are the prize - they should be trying to impress you.
  8. If it's not fun, stop.
  9. Loo update is mandatory.
10. No dating the thread. 11. Do unto others as you would have them do to you.

And a reminder - you don't know them until you know them!

Does bringing or wearing Pjs mean no sex or something?

Lovemusic33 · 05/04/2019 13:49

I don’t wear anything in bed but would want something to wear if staying over someone’s house so would borrow a T-shirt.
I wouldn’t take much to a sleep over but then I rarely go on a sleep over 🤣, I would just take a toothbrush and some face wipes, oh and clean underwear.

supercali77 · 05/04/2019 13:51

I just do makeup bag, face wipes, toothbrush, face cream and a pair of leggings + jumper so I don't look all 'walk of shame' the next day. He'll have a dressing gown or t shirt you can borrow for toilet visits

Sunshineandflipflops · 05/04/2019 13:53

I was never taking actual pj's but I am taking advice of no sleepwear and throwing my clean t-shirt on in the morning for bathroom trips!

@MrDrummer - I would love to travel that lightly but there are just some things a woman needs! It is a pre-arranged sleepover...suggested by him on tuesday and agreed to today!

StealthNinjaMum · 05/04/2019 14:11

This makes me think I need to buy non pink tooth brushes and condoms in the unlikely event I get a male visitor. Men do I need to buy anything else?

MrDrummer · 05/04/2019 14:11

@Sunshineandflipflops

Ok, I couldn't remember if it was maybe I will/maybe I won't. Whenever I stayed over at ex-gfs, I would just take a change of clothes minus jeans and I had a toothbrush there... wonder if it is still there! I still think straighteners are a bit much.

unique1986 · 05/04/2019 14:16

Bring any meds if your on a any.
Phone charger?

LilyRose88 · 05/04/2019 14:18

Sunshineandflipflops I wouldn't take hair straighteners but maybe some hair serum to run through your hair. Can you get travel sizes at Superdrug or Boots? No nightie but toothbrush, wet wipes, make up essentials and clean undies. Maybe a hair brush if like me you have wayward hair as some guys don't seem to have hair brushes! I keep one of those travel tangle teazers in my handbag as I often need it during the day (my hair is very thick and annoying).

Still18atheart · 05/04/2019 14:20

Oooo phone charger is a good idea. Unless driving so can charge in car

Sunshineandflipflops · 05/04/2019 14:23

Thank you all for soothing my sleepover anxieties!

I won't pack straighteners so won't curl my hair when I go out (it's fine the next day if it's been straight but not if I've curled it!)

So do you think my own pillow and my retainers are acceptable...? JOKES Grin

I do have retainers, for the record. I look HOT when I go to bed Hmm

Sunshineandflipflops · 05/04/2019 14:24

Ooh, yes a portable charger would be a good idea.

ItsAMiracle2015 · 05/04/2019 14:34

If I curl my hair I can get away with it the following morning. Failing that just stick it up! This has all made me very excited for you!

Musti · 05/04/2019 14:42

I think you should take what you feel comfortable with. Ftr I've taken my toothbrush and one cream that I use both to take my make up off and moisturise, deodorant, basic make up, a clean top and clean underwear. The guy I was seeing had the same phone as me so just used his charger.

Sunshineandflipflops · 05/04/2019 14:43

Haha, thanks Blush

My hair is only just past my chin so I don't have the sticking it up option!

Musti · 05/04/2019 14:43

Also a tshirt type nightie that I put on in the morning. I did once wear his top and bottoms but they were huge!

Peanuthedz · 05/04/2019 14:54

Wow.

Toothbrush
Condoms
Mascara
Clean pants

All fits in my handbag

Always walk around naked. 50 year old with 2 kids. If you don't like what you see don't put your dick in it!

ItsAMiracle2015 · 05/04/2019 15:10

If you don't like what you see don't put your dick in it!

Could not love this sentence any more than I do!

Sunshineandflipflops · 05/04/2019 15:15

Totally agree!

(I just don't love what I see to be honest)

unique1986 · 05/04/2019 15:43

@Sunshine

Another here in her 50s who loves walking round naked in front of an almost total stranger, despite three CSs and being overweight! Is it something to do with being an infant in the 60s I wonder???

WarIsPeace · 05/04/2019 15:53

Stolen from reddit, on the height topic

I'd just have toothbrush and paste, moisturiser and knickers as essentials, and plan to steal borrow a tshirt

peanut favourite line ever!

ItsAMiracle2015 · 05/04/2019 16:05

Quick one, if someone has last seen off on WhatsApp does that mean they can't see when someone else was last seen?

ItsAMiracle2015 · 05/04/2019 16:08

Also amazed by how many of you wouldn't pack make up. I'm definitely not that confident!!
