Literally got off the train and he has text
“My dad has been taken in hospital, can we re arrange?”

This has happened to me twice. It's such a horrible thing to do. Please delete and move on. Do not cry. It is no reflection on you, he's just a grade a wanker. It's his loss. Be kind to yourself and have a lovely afternoon with a treat. x

Juells · 22/04/2018 14:32

Does not compute. Can't meet you cos his da is in hospital. Half an hour later he's taking his daughter shoe shopping?

Too many red flags.

Dazedpenguin · 22/04/2018 14:32

Oh OP you deserve better than someone deciding they can now be arsed to see you just cause their daughter needs shoes. You deserve much better.

I would tell him I’m on my way back already, and leave him to rearrange and come chase. Hope he proves us all wrong OP

HollyBollyBooBoo · 22/04/2018 14:33

Please let us know how this goes, is the daughter coming with him? Why did he have his daughter if he had planned to meet you? Shouldn't the daughter be with her Mum or someone else?

crimsonlake · 22/04/2018 14:36

We need an update please.
On one of my first dates he was very late, eventually rang to say he was in my mind still yonks away. Pleaded with me to wait, obviously I walked.

Storm4star · 22/04/2018 14:36

*He’s just text saying
Actually I need to get my daughter some new shoes for tomorrow so I will have to pop into town.

It sounds like he had difficulty leaving the house but has now come up with an excuse for his wife.*

^^^ This

Iputthescrewinthetuna · 22/04/2018 14:37

Op, his dad is in hosp and has just been taken in, and now he is shopping for shoes. I am calling bull!
I may be wrong though.
Hope when u meet him all is explained truthfully.

millmoo · 22/04/2018 14:37

What happened ?? Did you meet him ??

Juells · 22/04/2018 14:37

I thought that too (re wife) but then wouldn't his daughter tell his wife when they got home? It's all too fucked up.

NigellasGuest · 22/04/2018 14:38

Personally not only would I not meet him but I would not even reply to him.

Jaxinthebox · 22/04/2018 14:38

red flags all over the place OP but I hope you met him and have decided for yourself @poppa445

Juells · 22/04/2018 14:40

What's that saying that goes something like...'the first time someone shows you what they are, believe them' ?

Littlelambpeep · 22/04/2018 14:41

It is really strange op- I think I would leave it

Guiltypleasures001 · 22/04/2018 14:42

Sounds like the shoes text wasn't meant for you maybe

Lmj25 · 22/04/2018 14:42

😬

Storm4star · 22/04/2018 14:43

I think people are assuming he’s bringing the daughter along. I don’t know how old she is but say for example, she’s a size 5, he could just be buying shoes without the daughter there. From the msg I didn’t assume the daughter was coming but I could be wrong.

Aeroflotgirl · 22/04/2018 14:43

Totally big red flAgs, that was an excuse to someone, woukd indicate a lier, and somebody dishonest. Stay away from him.

TheJoyOfSox · 22/04/2018 14:43

He is seriously taking the piss. What he means is he has his daughter today not his dad in hospital.
I’d not bother with him, timewaster for sure.

If his dad was genuinely on deaths door, he’d not be popping out for school shoes. If his dad is in hospital and well enough for mr timewaster to go shoe shopping, then he is well enough to leave for a date.

You’ve been told you’re in second place to shopping before he even met you.

snowboardingqueen · 22/04/2018 14:43

OP, this is him at his very best when he is trying to impress. Run for the hills. You will have no one to blame but yourself if he messes you around. You deserve better.

ferntwist · 22/04/2018 14:44

Oh boy, such a red flag! He sounds flaky, but like you I would have gone and met him just out of curiosity after travelling all that way.

YearOfYouRemember · 22/04/2018 14:45

Doesn't sound great.

Shampaincharly · 22/04/2018 14:46

Are you for real?
Have a nice day out sight seeing and having lunch in town. Have ME time.
He is so not worth it.

Mississippilessly · 22/04/2018 14:47

Why on earth would you still meet him?!

SpringNowPlease2018 · 22/04/2018 14:48

um
bit concerned he arranged to meet someone else and texted you by accident.

hope you're all right OP.

Poppa445 · 22/04/2018 14:50

He’s literally just gone
He got trainers, walked round the streets for 10 and left
